Hello?
Daisy!?
They'll find out, even if it's not on my show!
Please! Anybody?
- Help! -
- - Help!
Hey, Mom!
Ah, Fiona! Oh, Honey.
Oh, oh. It's been too long. How are you?
Good.
You look thin. Have you been eating?
Stop.
Oh, this place looks great! You've been busy!
- It's nothing. -
There's my girl!
- Dad! - Hi sweetie.
Hey! So good to see you both.
You too.
Hey, Barry. Get her some iced tea.
Oh, yes ma'am.
It has been 40 years
and he still thinks the joke is funny.
And it was never funny.
Thank you. It was never funny. Come on, sit down.
Oh it's so good to see you.
Ah, it's so good to be home.
Oh. So where's the party?
At the Holt Vineyard.
Ooh, that's fancy!
Well, it was your father's idea.
And you? You sealed the deal.
- Oh, really? How clever of me. - Mm-hmm.
The new owner, Marcus...
He's married to this woman, Emily from New York City.
She is a big fan of your radio show.
It's a podcast, but close enough.
Anyway, she could not have arranged that venue faster,
so thank you.
Hey, did she tell you about the party?
She did, yeah. I can't wait.
So many old faces to see.
Oh, speaking of, did you talk to Raphael?
We sent him an invite, Honey,
but honestly,
ever since he retired from the Sheriff's Department,
he is just kinda holed himself up
in that cabin out in the woods.
I just wouldn't hold out much hope.
Well, he'll come. I'm, I'm sure.
I mean, the whole town will be there.
Who doesn't love the Michelsons?
You'll be in my hand.
This way.
You okay, Mom?
Yes, of course.
I've just never been comfortable
being the center of attention, that's all.
Well, you should,
because you look like the belle of the ball.
Oh. Oh, look, look.
We'll be back.
- Oh! - Fiona!
Oh my God!
Whoa! You look amazing!
Me? You look amazing.
Thank you. I, I just can't believe you're here.
It's so good to see you.
I'm sorry I've been so bad about staying in touch.
I've just, I've been so busy.
It's nothing to apologize for.
You created a cultural phenomenon! I'm so proud of you
The whole town is.
I just got lucky.
Please, girl. Don't be modest.
But what about you ?
I mean, you're climbing the corporate ladder I hear?
Yes, I am the head of logistics for Holt Vineyards.
Okay!
I think we turned out pretty well
for some juvenile delinquents.
Right.
So, are you dating anyone?
Oh, I barely have time to talk
to one of my oldest friends.
Do you think I have time for that ?
Since you're single, guess who else is here?
Joseph Heller.
Yeah.
I recall you telling me you two
were gonna be together forever.
Yeah. When we were teenagers!
He is single and ready to mingle.
Okay. But...
With you, right now.
Yeah. Come on.
Dr. Joe.
Daisy.
Fiona. Hi.
You look... It's so good to see you.
Yeah, you too.
- Oh. Oh, yeah. -
- Yeah. -
Okay. I should go and network.
But you two should catch up.
Your mom invited me in case you thought I was crashing.
Oh, no, of course not.
I'm, I'm glad you're here. Are you enjoying the party?
Yeah. No, it's great. Yeah.
I'm just glad not to be working. You know?
You're a doctor.
You save lives. Um, I'm proud of you, by the way,
you always thought you didn't have it in you.
You always said I did.
Oh my goodness!
You're here!
Oh, you must be Emily Holt.
"Sometimes stories slip through the cracks
and people get lost in the darkness.
When they do, we are there to shine a light.
Welcome to Cold Case with Fiona Michelson."
Wow.
New season?
When can we expect it?
Listen, we have got to get you over for lunch.
I have so many more questions. Are you free?
Apologies. I will be brief.
I know everybody wants to get back
to enjoying their evening,
but I did want to get up here and say a few words
in celebration of 40 years of love
between two pillars of our community, Cecily and Barry.
But before I do, I would like to remind everybody
that we do have a case of our latest vintage
up for silent auction, the proceeds of which
will benefit the sheriff's department.
The sheriff is in the house tonight. He is watching.
So give generously.
Now, back to the main event.
Barry, between your tenure as principal
and Cecily's endless charity work,
the Michelson's have touched the lives
of every member of this community.
They've raised a pretty successful daughter too.
So please join me in raising a glass in celebration
of Cecily and Barry.
Could we catch up later?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course.
- Hey kiddo. - Raphael!
Hi.
Oh, easy now. I'm an old man.
I'm so glad you came.
Well, I couldn't pass up an opportunity
to catch up with an old friend.
- Aw. - Come on. Sit.
Oh boy.
You know, I never thanked you.
- Thanked me? - Yeah.
With all the trouble I got into as a kid,
you could have thrown me in a jail cell
back in the day, but you didn't.
Well, I knew you had a good heart.
I don't mean just that though.
You really encouraged my curiosity.
You let me look at old case files,
answered all my dumb questions.
I mean, really, you started my whole fascination with crime.
I really wouldn't be where I am without you.
You know, that's partly why I came down
here tonight.
Do you know about The Girl with No Name?
Yeah. I stopped at the memorial on my way in.
Well, tell me what you know.
The remains of a baby were found
buried outside the town...
Mm-hm, mm-hm.
...but no one could identify the remains, right?
Mm-hm, I remember the night the call came in,
nobody ever came forward.
There was no missing persons report filed. Nothing!
Why are you telling me this?
Well, I was at a poker game last month.
Bunch of old guys sitting around talking about old stuff,
and the talk turned to The Girl with No Name.
Turns out one of the guys lives near the memorial stone
and he tells me every year somebody comes
and places fresh flowers the same month in the spring,
like an anniversary.
I've been thinking about it ever since.
So, if someone's doing that every year
and it's the same person, that means they miss them,
which means they know them. Right?
Exactly. So I dug out the old case file
and I think I've developed some new leads,
but I just don't have the energy I used to.
So I'm thinking maybe you'd like
to take a look at this case with me.
Like, get a fresh perspective?
Yeah? Well, when do we start?
Well, I have the whole file back at the cabin.
Maybe you could swing by in the morning.
