There's dark energy.

It feels like a black mass.

People will wake up and they feel like something is on their chest.

Feels almost like something is sitting on your chest.

She doesn't want me here, she doesn't want other people here.

She's angry.

Did you see who's trying to attack you?

A really tall figure. Like, taller than this ceiling.

They took him out back

and they hung him over a telephone pole.

This dark mass is very, very dangerous.

It can cause death. I believe that.

I don't like this at all.

It wants bad things to happen

because that's how it gets stronger.

I keep hearing "Murder. Murder. Murder."

I'm a psychic medium.

Somebody is conjuring up the spirits in this house, I swear to God.

I ask questions of the dead...

These people are grave robbers.

...to find answers for the living.

I'm 100% sure that we're dealing with something demonic.

Before I even got here,

I had a feeling that there's something deeply connected to the property.

So I brought some tobacco

because I wanna leave an offering

and ask the spirit's permission to work here

because there's something going on definitely in the land.

So I need to find a spot to do that.

Yeah.

It's about respect.

I'm in Modjeska Canyon, California.

A small mountain community

about an hour and a half south of LA.

I got a desperate call from a lady named Lisa.

Says she and her husband bought their dream home a few years ago.

It was a total fixer-upper, but the second they started doing work on it,

all hell broke loose.

She sounds terrified and I'm really hoping we can help her out.

So, Lisa, I gotta tell you. Driving up here?

This is absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful home, beautiful property,

but you sounded miserable on the phone.

Um, can you explain why?

We've sunk our heart and our soul,

every bit of savings we had into renovating a gorgeous house

and hopefully somewhere we could live forever.

But shortly after we moved in, everything started.

And it has turned into splitting our family apart

and kind of terrorizing us.

Okay, Lisa, let's start with basics. Who lives in the house?

This is a picture.

This is my husband Kevin. - Okay.

Our son Steele.

Now things are so bad here,

Steele won't live in the house.

So we actually have him living in a separate place on the property here.

So, Lisa, do me a favor

and give me a list of what you guys are experiencing.

When we're here, we all feel a heavy presence. - Okay.

We see shadow figures. It's become physical.

And now, unfortunately, it's affecting our health.

What's going on with the health? What's the problem?

Well, when we moved here, maybe within six months' time,

Kevin, my husband, was diagnosed with cancer.

What kind of cancer did your husband come down with?

Kidney cancer. - All right.

Um, how's he doing now?

He's recovered.

So, Lisa, you mentioned on the phone

that when you guys started doing renovations,

that's when things went haywire.

What was it like here?

When we first came to the property, this was a wooden shack.

I mean, did you take pictures?

We did. Let me show you.

My husband did almost all of the work by hand.

So do you think this is what stirred everything up?

I definitely think that it had something to do with it.

Okay.

There's a lot going on in this house.

The land is a big piece of this. It's huge.

It's a big deal. It's a big deal.

I wouldn't be renovating anything here,

I wouldn't be building anything on here,

I wouldn't be digging into anything

until they get to the bottom of it.

What would they be looking at if they were to...

It just stirs the pot. It's stirs things up. It makes it worse.

Yeah, I don't like it. It's not good.

In the house, I start to feel physical problems

like maybe dizzy, disoriented.

The woman that lives here?

Okay. Mmm-hmm. - The woman of the house?

She has to be really careful.

I just feel like there's a jealousy, there's a rage,

there's a... from the spirit world onto her.

Okay. So, Lisa, what's going on that you brought me in the kitchen?

I get these awful thoughts that enter my mind.

Okay, give me an example. What are we talking about?

It's picking out a sweater to wear and thinking,

"Oh, what should I wear today,"

and something's saying, "Pick what you're gonna wear,

'cause today you're gonna die."

Really? - Yeah.

It makes you kind of feel like you're a little bit crazy.

All right. So, is there anything else?

Sometimes it just feels like

there's a heavy, dark blanket over everything.

So we're talking about emotions, not physical?

Guess it's a little bit of both.

Physical part, what's it feel like to you?

Feels almost like something's sitting on your chest.

It's almost like everything is slower and heavier and harder to do.

How about the mood?

Everything just feels dark.

Okay.

Something is so off about this room.

It feels... so off.

And then there's something else.

It feels like a black mass.

It feels connected to the land.

It feels oppressive.

It feels like people will wake up in the middle of the night,

and they feel like something is on their chest.

They might feel something sitting down next to them on the bed.

Or feel, like you know, a presence.

You know when a spirit sits on the bed and it makes an indentation?

- Okay. - So I feel like people have seen that.

They're laying there and like, "What's happening?"

I'm seeing an indentation, there's a spirit sitting on the bed with me.

Okay, Lisa, so this is your bedroom.

Okay, so what's going on?

This is the room where we get touched.

It's usually our legs or our feet.

How often is that happening?

It's a couple times a week.

And what else is going on?

It's hard to explain, but it seems to be that there is a woman.

It's like I feel her, and we hear her. We never see her.

What makes you think it's a female if you can't see her?

Because we hear a female voice.

All right, so can you make out what she's saying?

So...

Most of the time, I can't.

But there are occasions where I can make out some of it.

So I have kept this notepad by my bed and write down, scribble words

that I feel like I have heard from her.

Okay.

This one just says "Can't live like this."

This one, "Remember me."

Okay. We're here, we're gonna do this investigation.

What are you hoping you can get out of it?

Hope we get our lives back.

Hope we get the house back that we wanted.

It doesn't feel like it's our house.

Hopefully, we can change that.

I hope so.

I'm seeing a woman and she's active in the house.

She's very fast.

But it's strange because I see her, like, shifting.

It feels like a shapeshifter.

Sometimes people will see a woman, she might come as a mist.

The woman spirit is super active in this area.

Does she get physical at all?

I feel like people might feel touched by her.

Might feel a little bit of a push.

Especially breathing or something breathing like in the ear.

She's just very aggressive, in the sense, energetically.

She doesn't have boundaries.

People can feel something behind them.

She'll make people really uncomfortable, give them anxiety.

Can't breathe in here. Oh, my God. Wow.

This dead woman hates living people in her space.

She doesn't want me here, she doesn't want other people here.

And she's angry.

That's how it feels.

I was speaking to your wife earlier.

She's convinced the paranormal's out of control in the house.

I mean, do you agree with that?

I agree with it to a point.
