A cheerful planter shows a performance that almost corresponds to the original fairy tale. Rich American Sam, along with younger cowboy brothers, Dean and Pete, comes to Peterburg to show himself to the country. On the market, he meets a guy-merchant Pronka Greznoy, who buys bast shoes. Interested in Pronka, Sam offers him a bet : he does not wash for 15 years and trades, and Dean and Pete should watch him.
