It's a semi-final style, and the winner squares off with atomic
wedgie for the Giant Nut in the Super Heavyweight Finals.
BattleBots, if you're looking for some serious
destruction, you've come to the right place.
We're at the All-American Sport Park in Las Vegas, Nevada,
where the ill-tempered mechanical insanity is about to explode.
Hi everybody, I'm Sean Salisbury, and the last of the Super Heavyweights
are ready to settle this season -long scrum once and for all.
So hold on tight, because my partner Bill Dwyer is about to get us amped up.
Buddy, amped up ain't the half of it. Dissector and War
Machine are busy prepping themselves for the semi-final bout.
And Atomic Wedgie is going to be watching every move
to figure out the best battle strategy for the finals.
We've corralled the heavyweights, and we're going to let them rip.
Let's go down to the box for the All -Star Game. It's the Heavyweight Rumble.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a BattleBots
Grand Rumble in the Heavyweight Division.
Introducing the 13 competitors, beginning first of all with the bot to my right.
Hunjar!
Overkill!
Killer Hurtz!
Gold Digger!
Panic Attack 3!
Nightmare!
Mortis!
Suicidal Tendency!
Heavyweight Champion by All-Hazard!
Casper!
Paul Dronach!
Paul Spine!
And former two-time Heavyweight Champion, Blod!
Ian Taylor!
Blue Drivers, are you ready?
Yeah!
Blue Drivers, are you ready?
Yeah!
Blue Drivers, are you ready?
The box is locked. The lights are on. It's robot
fighting time. It's a rumble in the Heavyweight Division.
These guys are going to get it on. Look at them
meet in the center of the arena and get going.
And the popping begins!
Killer Hurtz on his back!
Oh man!
We got Frostbite there in the red.
That's the slam cam inside Killer Hurtz.
Oh, look at this now!
You got Glad the Impaler, there's Taskbot. Take a look
and listen to the action and don't try this at home.
If by any chance you were to build, you know, 13 bots in
your own battle box arena, please don't try this at home.
Take a look at that axe on the floor right there.
Panic Attack knocks it free.
Is that Gold Digger right there?
That was Gold Digger's axe and he was fierce at the beginning of the fight.
Glad the Impaler, there's Biohazard. The new Heavyweight Champion.
Oh, Taskbot takes a pop from Panic Attack.
America just jumped!
Did you feel that?
There's Nightmare, that spinning wheel of death.
Those two have got it on a few times, huh?
There's probably my favorite bot of all time, Taskbot.
Still doesn't have a championship under his belt.
You like simplicity, I like complexity in my bots.
Look at this! Look at that! That is Vlad up in the air!
Now when's the last time you saw someone control Vlad?
I think Voltronic's been wanting to do that for Vlad for three seasons!
Forever! Forever! That's all he lives for!
There's your guy, Taskbot, getting rid of him around.
Spinning that crazy insect then.
I'll tell you, Voltronic is really putting on a show here.
Taskbot's going, let me down! Let me down!
This is a great rumble, the Heavyweight Champion.
There he is, these guys are really showing us a powerful arm.
That's all he wants to do, is pick up Vlad.
There's a lot of super in this arena right now,
needless to say, and a lot of bots are still alive.
There's your guy, Taskbot.
Taskbot, what? What?
Look at how strong that arm is. Look at that, see?
Picking a big boy up, can't hang on.
There you see Panic Attack, the yellow piece of machinery.
Oh, they're ganging up on the big boy.
See? Look at Taskbot. He got beat before the fight.
Let's pick on Vlad.
I know that's what they all said.
But now, with Biohead being a new champ, that's who you want to go after.
You know what's interesting, though, with all the fights we've seen in the Rumble,
very few have been this late in the fight, still alive.
It's been a great battle.
Oh, look at poor Gold Digger.
That was his hammer we saw on the floor earlier.
So he hasn't got much, but he's got a big robot heart.
And we've got the end of the Rumble and the Heavyweight Division.
A lot of bot standing. What a fight.
How's that for a nasty battle?
Good news for us, bad news for War Machine.
Dissector showed up, and he's headed to the box
for their Super Heavyweight Semifinal.
It's go time as soon as we get back.
For more information on BattleBots and how you can enter a fighting robot
In a town filled with dreams of gold and silver,
the greatest prize of all is the giant nut.
There are tons of wasted robots in the BattleBots killing fields,
but Dissector and War Machine are still kicking.
They've come a long way to get this far,
but it's about to get even tougher.
Sean, we got two mechanical rhinos squaring off.
Dissector is Donald Hudson's second entry in the competition.
He adds to his thwackbot fighting style
by giving Dissector powerful clamping jaws.
Team Delta's War Machine continues to surprise
with its simple scoop wedge assaults and sturdy defense.
Look for War Machine to attack from the sides
to keep clear of Dissector's jaws of death.
The winner of this fight has to turn it around
and face Atomic Wedgie immediately after in the finals.
Not an easy task.
Yeah, Bill, but you know if you've come this far,
you know what it takes to win.
So please refer to War Machine's builders as Exhibit A.
If you name your BattleBot War Machine,
you better mean business.
Every single opponent that we face,
we scope them out beforehand and we come up with a strategy.
Coming up with a strategy in the arena is very important.
Just going out there and trying to run it on the fly
usually ends in failure.
Whether they're burning the midnight oil,
building a better bot or burning rubber on the Speedway,
these guys are always racing for first place.
But for Dan and Tony, winning isn't everything.
There's a higher power to please in the BattleBot world.
But you want to win and have the audience be happy with it too.
You don't want to win and have the audience be booing you.
That's the worst feeling in the world.
It's worse than losing.
It's always best to win with style.
Well, it's time for the super heavyweights to clock in.
Let's go down to the arena floor.
So the Dissector is ready to go into another fight.
Do you think your battery is going to be completely charged
by the time you're ready for the ring?
They actually have a good capacity to them.
So I'm trying.
I only have a few more batteries left,
so I have to kind of pace myself.
If the battery is not completely charged,
will that limit the weapons or the entire robot?
It does slow it down quite a bit,
but it looks like it's charging up okay.
I should be fine.
Hold on to your horsepower, everyone.
The semifinals are here.
The box is locked.
The lights are on.
It's semifinal robot fight of the time.
And right off the bat,
Dissector gets underneath the side area by those wheels,
which is a smart move on War Machine
and tries to score a few points.
And then when he goes right at the front of him,
you see he goes right over the wedge of War Machine.
Won't it be an advantage for Dissector
to come in from the side, Bill?
Oh, look at the kill shot.
That will be points for War Machine.
War Machine more flush to the ground, Bill,
with leverage.
Dissector's advantage coming from the side,
wouldn't you say?
Always coming from the side
with one of your many weapons.
Now he's got him up against the spike strip.
He likes this.
Oh, look at this now.
The leverage we talked about.
But you know what it's not for War Machine.
It's all about Dissector.
Great driving by Bonnie Hudson.
Up and up.
Oh, man.
Look at Sean.
The greatest victory dance of any of the robots.
Look how proud.
You never want to fight chicken on your rear end,
and there's War Machine early
and often in this bout.
Yama will be there.
Ten wheels.
Ten wheels on War Machine,
and none of them doing anything right now.
Except begging for some momentum to flip down
and maybe the spike strip will jiggle.
It's not going to work, though.
The countdown's begun.
Everything fell into place right there.
One, two, three.
War Machine's been upended,
and now after scraping and clawing off season,
