The 76 Bedouin families petitioning today

have lived in their village for more than seven decades.

All these years,

the residents have been considered squatters on State land,

but have never been offered an alternative residence

and the options they suggested have always been rejected.

I must add that as a justice

and an Israeli citizen living in the South,

I keep coming across these types of injustices

committed against the Bedouin residents in the South.

I therefore fully uphold the plea of the petitioners...

And hereby demand to immediately retract all 76 demolition orders

from being carried out against their homes.

I thank you all. As they say in your language:

"May God's blessing be upon you."

KVODO (Your Honor)

By Shlomo Mashiach and Roni Ninio

I bet you heard that Pundak is also running for the district court.

Yes, I've heard the rumor.

And? What do you say about that?

What can I say? I wish him the best of luck.

You act as if you've got it in the bag.

No, I haven't got it in the bag.

I know that. -"Hi, you've reached Shai..."

Aside for you and Pundak there are nine other candidates

and only three positions available. -There's actually only one.

"Did you pass?" The two others are reserved for an Arab and a woman.

Micha, Pundak is a snake.

I agree, he's a worthy opponent.

You're so annoying. -Why? -Because you're annoying.

You know what they say about him.

And do you know what they say about me?

Whatever. It doesn't happen without politics and dirty work.

Yaeli. -What?

Shut up.

My lips are sealed.

I appreciate your advice and concern. Really.

Go to hell.

Micha... -What do you plan on doing?

Join a big firm or the DA's office?

I don't know. I have to think about it.

I think I'll try to go at it alone. -That's brave.

You say it's brave, my mom says it's idiotic.

She's right.

Well, then...

Thanks for the ride.

Hey.

I've been trying to reach you for hours.

Did you pass?

No.

Never mind. Next time.

Come and eat.

Where are you going? -Out with friends.

What friends? Are you going to Grandma's?

What's the matter?

What's going on? -Leave me alone.

Why won't you answer? What happened?

Where's your inhaler?

I don't need it.

Maybe we should go to the hospital. -I'm fine.

Are you sure? Maybe we should.

Stop it, Dad.

Leave me alone.

My driving test started at 10:00 a.m.

Zvika called me at about 11:00 when I was waiting for the bus,

he said I failed because I forgot to signal at some turn.

It's not true. I remember signaling. -Okay.

And it's my third test. -Okay.

I was pissed off. I decided to ditch school.

I got home and saw that you left the car here. Why'd you leave it?

Why does that matter?

This morning I saw that the vehicle inspection is out of date.

Then I noticed the car keys. You left them...

Stop, stop, stop... What did you say?

Are you crazy? You don't have a license.

I know how to drive. That bastard failed me for no reason.

I was gonna drive around the area, no cops around...

Are you crazy?! You don't have a license!

There's never anybody on the road, I was going 50,

then I saw him coming up from behind...

You saw who coming up from behind? -The motorcycle.

What motorcycle? -The motorcycle. He passed me, then cut me off.

There was no one else there, I barely touched him,

then he lost control and...

You hit a motorcycle?

And kept driving?

I pulled over a little past him.

And then?

What happened then? -I had an asthma attack...

Not to you, to the motorcycle rider. What happened to him?

I don't know. -You don't know?!

Is he hurt?! Dead?! -I don't know!

So you just left him there lying on the road?

Superintendent Hanit Rufus, please. -Who's calling?

Micha Alkobi, Magistrate Court Justice.

What do you think you're doing?! -I'm not going to the police.

I know some people there... -I don't want to!

It's not up to you to decide! -How would they find me?

"Find you"? You committed a crime,

of course they'll find you, and when they do,

it'll be much, much worse! -But they'll arrest me.

Yes, they'll arrest you, fingerprint you,

test your blood and urine for drugs and alcohol... -I'm not going.

Listen... Listen to me!

You left a man wounded on the road. You hear me?

That's more than a traffic violation, it's a human life!

Don't make me go there and bring them here.

You would turn me in? -Call it whatever you want.

How long will they detain me for? -I don't know.

Will I go to jail? -You'll go to the juvenile detention facility.

Come here... -You can tell them you're a judge...

I won't tell them anything.

And you won't tell any of the detainees who I am or what I do.

It'll only get you in trouble, you hear me?

You won't make any connection with anyone

and you won't take anything from anyone,

certainly not from the prison guards!

What I want to know is, when did this happened?

When did you become the type of person

who'd leave a wounded man on the road and run away?

I'm not...

You're not, you're not...

Poor you, you have asthma,

you want to move in with your grandma,

and you're always right.

Who are you?

I don't know you anymore.

Can you tell me who you are?

You're a piece of shit!

That's what you are, a little piece of shit!

All your life I've tried to protect you, defend you...

Thank God you're still a minor, otherwise your name and mine

would be all over the papers tomorrow morning.

Answer only what they ask you.

Don't volunteer any information. Only what they ask you.

Tell them you panicked, that you had an attack,

you felt like you were suffocating. Tell them you have asthma.

That when you're scared you have attacks.

And I'll try to help you any way I can.

What will they do to me?

In court, I mean.

You'll spend a few months in jail.

How many? -I don't know.

It depends on many things,

mainly if the guy you hit is dead or alive.

I hope they'll go easy on you.

You have no criminal record, you have asthma,

and there are extenuating circumstances.

Mom?

Yes.

Your mom is "extenuating circumstances".

"Zvika - Driving Instructor"

"I apologize but there was a mix-up,

"you passed the test, congratulations.

"Stop by tomorrow to get your temporary license."

Told you I signaled!

"A hit-and-run accident that took place today outside Be'er Sheva

"left a motorcycle driver in critical condition.

"He is currently hospitalized in Soroka Hospital

"and his name hasn't yet been released to the press.

"The police is trying to track down the offending driver

"and asks that any witnesses of the accident

"call the police as soon as possible.

"And now for the weather report..."

Shai.

Shai!

Come. I want you to drive.

Wait for me here.

Hello, I'm looking for Superintendent Hanit Rufus. Is she in?

And you are...? -Micha Alkobi.

The judge? -Yes.

Down the hall. Wait here, please. -Thanks.

"A war between crime families might have erupted in Southern Israel.

"Over to our criminal correspondent Ayala Malki.

"Hello, Ayala. -Good evening, Kobi.

"The name of the victim of this morning's hit-and-run accident

"has been released to the public.

"His name is Assaf Ben-Atar. He's still in critical condition.

"The Southern District is investigating all prospects,

"including the possibility of a targeted killing

"rather than a hit-and-run accident.

"18 months ago, Assaf was released after serving three years in prison
