In the words of someone way
more eloquent than I'll ever be,
a society where the majority have Quirks
will become a society built on repression.
Super strength, super speed, light beams, heat vision,
shock waves, most people are born with abilities like these.
If everyone used their Quirks to do whatever they wanted,
the world would collapse into chaos.
So most of us go about our daily lives
as if we didn't have Quirks at all.
This is the modern social contract.
But we make an exception for heroes,
people of exceptional talent and proven character,
who are permitted to exercise their powers
at will in order to protect the peace and serve humankind.
Children admire these heroes,
and many seek to become heroes themselves,
in part because that's the only way
they'll be allowed to use their Quirks with society's blessing.
But in time, they face a hard truth.
Not everyone can be a hero.
And of course, there are those who can't accept this.
So rather than taking part in the repression,
they exercise their Quirks and their convictions outside
of the boundaries and systems society
has built, as vigilantes.
These individuals seek to serve justice with their own hands.
They're not licensed heroes, but they
fight crime like heroes do.
They might be-- well, OK, they're definitely
on the wrong side of the law.
But they can right the wrongs that the heroes are
too busy to deal with, acting, in some small way,
like the people they once idolized.
I can't honestly say I'm living my dream doing this.
But still, we're bringing some happiness
to the people around us.
And that's all the justification I need.
Of course, it's not all fun and games either.
But at this point, I've really come to enjoy what I do.
I'm a vigilante, hero name, The Crawler.
I'm back to glide along the edge again!
OK, girls.
Is everyone ready to work up a sweat?
Yeah!
Let's start with a brisk run!
Right!
- Right! - Right!
Miu, Yu, make sure to stretch first
so you don't hurt yourselves.
OK!
Hold on.
Why isn't Pop here?
She just gets to skip practice now?
No, she's off on that trip to Osaka, remember?
Huh?
What trip?
Uh--
Start talking.
OK, so apparently, she got into some program
to promote local idols.
Excuse me?
Why did no one tell me?
Nozomi 233 will
be departing soon on track 16.
No fair!
Dang it!
I wanna go on tour!
If Miu finds out, she'll definitely get
jealous and throw a tantrum.
So don't tell her, OK?
Mission failed.
You two, don't lose focus!
Uh, yes, ma'am!
Makoto was too busy to make the trip herself
because, of course, she was.
But she said Pop was good enough
at handling her own scheduling that it should be OK.
So she just hopped on the train to Osaka by herself?
Oh, no.
She went with her manager.
As in Koichi?
Why take him?
It's like bringing an extra suitcase full of bricks.
I can practically see him standing at the bento counter
while the train takes off without him.
Tell me I'm wrong.
I think you might have some personal bias there.
I was standing at the bento counter,
and the train took off without me!
Koichi!
Hello?
What's up?
Huh?
Yeah, that's right.
He missed the train at Tokyo Station.
Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem.
We've got the e-tickets on our phone, so that's fine.
And I have the schedule and their business cards.
So no issues there.
OK.
Got it.
I just stay on the train to Osaka.
And if Koichi doesn't make it there in time,
I can head to the venue on my own.
Shinagawa.
Arriving at Shinagawa.
Right.
Yeah.
It's fine.
I'm sure I can handle-- uh?
Man, that wasn't fun at all.
Ah?
Huh?
You did not chase down a bullet train!
Obviously not.
I saw it leaving the station,
and somehow I just kinda--
Don't fall. Don't fall.
Please don't fall!
Uh, what the--
You stuck to the train?
Yeah, kind of like a magnet.
Or maybe more like a suction cup?
It's like the force I normally use to push
off the ground when I glide.
Started pulling instead.
Though, I'm not totally sure if it was pulling or sucking.
So your Quirk suddenly changed direction?
Is that even a thing that happens?
I don't know if my Quirk changed.
It's more like I just figured out how
to use it in a different way.
When I think about it, I might have been using it
unconsciously for a while, like for extra traction when
I'm taking a tight curve or staying
grounded while moving upwind.
After all this time, I've learned a new technique!
Nice!
Check it out.
I did it again!
I'm wall crawling!
Yeah, cool.
I'm glad you're excited.
But can you please contain yourself till we get home?
I think you've already made enough trouble to date.
Huh?
Ah! Huh?
Hey, hold up!
I thought I remembered taking you in for assault.
I'm gonna put this takoyaki away, then do the same to you.
You don't know who you're messing with, dummy!
Same to you, dummy!
What, you never heard about the tender tank of Naniwa?
What are you thinking, bringing a pistol to a Fat Gum fight?
BMI Hero, Fat Gum.
Quirk, Fat absorption.
All that extra body mass is far from dead weight.
It can soak up just about anything.
Let's see if you take it better than you dish it out.
I'm giving you back as bad as you gave me.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
But I only shot you one time.
You dope!
That's not what this is about.
You made me drop a 36-pack of takoyaki when I'd barely
even put a dent in it yet!
Excuse me?
Uh?
Your takoyaki is safe, sir.
Huh.
Guess I didn't need to fly off the handle like that.
My bad, partner.
Here, these are for you.
Come on, man, don't be shy.
I owe you, six flicks with interest.
I appreciate the help back there.
You kids down here to see the sights?
Where are you headed first?
Oh, we're trying to get to a place
called SS Mall out in Super Minami.
Yeah?
