KIRA-FANSUB
Out!
Very good, Shigeno!
Nice catch!
Awesome!
Nice one!
Wheeeee!
Onee-chan is so coooool!
Mommy, did you see that?
Onee-chan caught it!
It was SUPER cool!
Yep, good for her!
I am really proud of her.

And now for Sports.
Goro Shigeno of the Indiana Hornets has finally retired.
Shigeno made his debut in the major league 14 years ago.
His sharp pitches exceeding 100 mph has given him not only fame and popularity, but world records as well.
Five years ago at the World Series, he led his team to victory as the team's closer.
But last season, he dislocated his shoulder and had to take the season off for surgery.
After that, he was in physical therapy for a while.
However, it was speculated that he would not be able to return to major league pitching.
But now, Shigeno's recovery has been announced.
All cool! All cool!
Well!
Good work up until now.
Well, I guess you can take your time thinking about what you want to do next.
Your being offered coaching positions, right?
Nope.
I've already decided.
I'm gonna go back to Japan and keep playing.
I got nothing to lose.
If I can't pitch anymore, I'll just become a specialist in hitting, running, and guarding bases.
Long ago Dad did exactly the same thing.
these are all your belongings, right?
Yeah.
I am truly grateful for your help!
That's okay.
Plane! Plane!
Hey there!
You're going to get yourselves hurt!
Hey, you two!
You really helped me out a lot, Toshi.
No, YOU helped ME.
I was always watching you leave.
Watching you take the unexpected paths that came up. That's what you did.
But next time we meet on the field, we'll duel as batters!
Fine!
Just wait for me as long as it takes.
Shigeno
Wh-What?!
You’re transferring to fielder?
Yeah.
Will you NEVER outgrow your craziness?
WHAT do you expect to accomplish as a fielder at YOUR age?
Just retire gracefully and get a REAL job to support your family!
Easy, easy, YOU can’t talk to me like that, Pop.
Weren’t YOU the one who weaseled yourself into joining as a fielder after he was set to retire?
Yeah, but…
Well.
Gonna go for a jog.
I should have known this would happen.
He’s not the type of man who quits baseball without a fight.
What about your children?
Do Izumi and Daigo know about this?
They don’t.
Goro told me not to tell them.
I guess my right arm is better for throwing now.

Daddy, hurry up!
Goro!
Are you okay?
Yeah, just got a little dizzy.
Hey… Aren’t you going at it a little too hard?
Surely you don’t need to exercise constantly every day.
Why don’t you take a rest?
Nope.
I can feel my body changing little by little.
I don’t have time to waste resting.
I’m REALLY looking forward to it.
I’m gonna be a baseball player that can do ANYTHING.
It’s a lifelong dream of mine.
Kiss my ass, Toshi.
My Father:
Ahhh, what a good nap.
Huh? Izumi.
Where’s Mom?
She went to pick up Daigo from school,
then she’s going shopping.
Oh.
Well… Daddy’s gonna go run for a bit then.
Tell Mom I’ll be back before dinner.
Bye.
Mommy… Why doesn’t Daddy have a job?
My friend’s Daddys go to work every day.
So why does Daddy stay at home all day?
Izumi…
Listen, Daddy hurt himself and can’t play baseball anymore.
His shoulder was broken and he can’t throw his fastballs anymore.
But he really was a WONDERFUL pitcher.
The day you were born, he became a champion in America—
I know that!
I’ve heard that story a million times!
But still!
Why can’t he just take up some different job?
He may have been really amazing in the past, but…
I don’t care.
I want a father who works NOW to support his family!
Izumi!
Baseball…means nothing!
I see.
So Izumi said that.
Hey, she’s old enough to understand more now.
Shouldn’t we tell her the full story now?
No.
I can’t tell her yet until it’s taken shape.
After it’s back, Izumi and Daigo will understand.
That’s what he told me.
Dad told me something precious that I’ll never forget.
And so, thanks for doing business with me!
Goodbye!
Komori?
Oh! Shimizu-san!
Ohhh, so you’re coaching the Dolphins now!
Yep. Ando-san asked me to.
Though nothing’s set in stone yet.
I see.
I think it’s right up your alley, though.
Izumi is your daughter’s name, right?
Is she in first grade now?
Why don’t you put her in the Dolphins?
We have practice matches for the underage players.
And I’m sure she has a great baseball aptitude with the parents she’s got.
…well, now’s not a good time.
What? Your husband is joining as fielder?
Yeah.
I’m impressed.
Though I guess I’m not surprised either.
But he’s training too hard for it.
I really wish I could support him, but I’m just too worried about him.
And I don’t know what I should tell our kids.
I think he’ll be fine.
Even if everyone else says it’s impossible…
Going after something wholeheartedly is very much like you.
Times might be tough now, but I’m sure your kids will understand.
Komori…
Honda-kun, you’re always giving me such courage.
Ah, I guess I shouldn’t call you “Honda” anymore.
Shimizu-san!
Er, I mean!
Umm…
I don’t mind.
Call me Honda AND Shimizu.
Hey there, Daigo!
Ah!
Taiga-Ojiichan!
Um, that’s “Taiga-ONIICHAN”, right?
Hey, Izumi!
Is your dad home?
I dunno.
He’s probably slobbing around somewhere.
What’s eating you?
Ah, I got it!
Your mom yelled at you, right?
She DIDN’T yell at me!
I hate you, Taiga-Ojiichan!
Come on, say “Oniichan”…
Having a stubborn big sis can be stressful sometimes.
I should know.
Ah, Taiga!
Sorry to call ya here on a day off.
Ready?
Okay.
Daddy, where ya going?
To Pachinko.
Pa-chin-ko.
Listen, bro, can’t you take Izumi and Daigo out sometime?
Ah, now that you mention it, I haven’t spent much time with them.
I still haven’t taken them to the theme park like I promised.
Baseball is nice and all,
but isn’t it a good idea to give your family some love as well?
I will in time.
Throw me a harder one!
And mix it with breaking ball, will ya?
I keep saying, it’s a crazy thing to ask of someone TEN YEARS junior to you.
Japanese Professional Baseball 12 Baseball Team Joint Tryouts
It flew over the stands on his first hit?
This guy’s the real deal!
That Goro Shigeno has returned to pro baseball as a fielder!
Are you sure?
Yeah.
Oceans is apparently drawing up a contract for me.
Of course it’s just as an alternate player for now.
Thank goodness!
Congratulations.
It all rides on how well I do in the spring camp now.
Now that I’m here, my only choice is to keep running to the top!
Big liar!
