I am actor Park Geun Hyeong.

Looking at his parents who are disabled,

he decided to become a doctor.

During the school days,

he came across a play like a destiny,

and that changed his life forever.

Instead of becoming a doctor who fixes physical illness,

he decided to become an actor who fixes the illness of mind...

and comforts people.

Yes. That boy is me.

After 50 years of acting,

now I am referred as...

"the veteran actor".

But I went through a lot of ordeals too.

When my acting career wasn't going as I wanted,

I questioned if I was meant to be taking this path,

and I even had extreme thoughts.

I once quit everything and went back to my hometown.

That's why I became known as the actor with an ill repute,

as someone who disappears during practice...

and doesn't show up for practice.

But when I decided to give up everything,

one thing stopped me.

It was the joy of using my imagination...

to create a unique character,

as an actor.

It was that joy.

In my own imagination,

I recreated characters with my own color.

Those characters comforted some people...

while they touched others.

What greater joy can there be to an actor?

With that joy alone, I walked the path of an actor.

For as long as I live as an actor,

I want to play all kinds of roles,

whether there are hundreds or thousands of them.

I believe drama makes our world...

a place that is a little more livable.

When we watch a drama that expresses various kinds...

of human emotions in depth,

we become kinder to others.

It's because through drama,

we understand other people's lives...

and sympathize with them.

And there is also happiness and hopeful message about our future.

In order to become a great actor,

it takes at least 50 years.

Ever since I began acting,

I am 79 this year.

So as an actor,

I am a 29-year-old young man.

Being the young actor I am,

my heart still beats whenever I see a script.

When I flip the first page of the script,

I feel the surge of excitement.

which I felt.
