Next, on "Ghost Nation"...

Legend has it if you were accused of being a witch,

you would be buried under a tree.

A lot of times, the legend has some truth.

I was doing some farm work.

A presence or an energy rushed up onto my back.

I have never felt so scared.

I saw an elderly lady on the front porch.

The only set of footprints in the snow are mine.

this whole experience has traumatized us.

It's really starting to affect their marriage.

we are, right now, in an active crime scene.

There's a body under that tree.

We've come to help this family,

and we've almost made things worse.

"there is something else in this house."

make some sort of a noise.

Let us know you're here with us.

I'm right beside you.

We are a community of searchers.

This family is under attack.

We are...

... "ghost nation."

It's no surprise that we once again

find ourselves in the area

of gettysburg, pennsylvania.

This is a veritable hot bed of paranormal activity.

We're no strangers to this part of the country,

but the activity report we got from our old friend

and longtime paranormal investigator, brigid goode,

sounds unlike anything we've ever encountered.

Back in gettysburg.

You know, I love this area, I truly do.

It's got such a history behind it.

I know we're just outside of gettysburg,

but still, in this area, you know

that there have been hundreds, maybe even thousands of deaths.

You know, it's all over this area.

It's everywhere. It's tangible.

And it sounds like an interesting case

that we're heading to.

Now, brigid and patty have investigated this.

Brigid, who has been a good friend of ours for a long time.

- Yeah. - Some 20 years, even more maybe.

Yeah.

It's a case that her and this local investigator,

patty -- I know patty's relatively new in the field.

They claim that there's a ton of activity going on here.

Yeah.

Well, whatever it is, we'll get to the bottom of it, for sure.

Absolutely.

The truth.

Patty asked us to meet her at a site

where we've been granted access to a wiccan ceremony.

There's a long history of witchcraft in this area,

and she wanted us to see for ourselves

that the practice is still alive and well.

Grant me all knowledge.

- hey, patty. How are ya? - Hey, guys.

- Hi. Thanks for coming. - Good to see you.

So, why'd you have us meet you here?

The case that we're involved with

has a lot of what we think is witchcraft.

Really. Okay.

So what can you tell us about the activity

going on at the home?

Glenda bought the house about two years ago.

She's seeing apparitions, hearing noises.

Nine months after she had bought the house,

her and steve had gotten married.

They saw the same two apparitions,

but at different time periods.

So, does witchcraft have ties to this property

that we're going to look at?

- Glenda's place? - Yes, yes.

The tree that is in the backyard,

it's called a witching tree.

It's old amish lore that if you were accused

of being a witch, you would be buried

and they would put a tree on top of your gravesite.

And that is to signify that the bad witch

would be concealed underground.

And it would keep them in.

It would keep them there.

And as long as the tree was secure,

the evil would stay.

Why do they believe that the tree on their property

is a witching tree?

The area that they live in has a lot

of amish people living there.

They have had a couple cases in the area, missing people.

And they were accused of witchcraft.

So they just "disappear."

the weird thing is, the tree sits all by itself

in the middle of the field.

There's nothing around it.

It just doesn't look right, it doesn't feel right.

Steve and glenda believe the paranormal activity

is coming from the tree.

Does anybody else have these experiences,

or is it just steve and glenda?

I've had some experiences myself.

During her investigation of the property,

patty captured video of a ball rolling on its own in the barn.

she's also used an ovilus and got the name henry.

it says "henry."

but truth be told, this isn't the type of device

we would normally put stock in.

My fear for steve and glenda

is that they can't make it through this.

They're newlyweds, and it's really starting

to affect their marriage.

Yeah, it'd be interesting to get over there

and talk with glenda and steve

and just see what we're able to help 'em out with.

Steve and glenda's farm

is located in the borough of biglerville,

just seven miles north of gettysburg.

We can't wait to investigate the property.

- Here's the house. - Look at this place.

- Yeah. - Especially,

the so-called "witching tree"

that the homeowners believe is causing their haunting.

- hi. - How are you?

- Good to meet you guys. - It's a pleasure.

Alright, yeah. Come on in.

Hopefully, we can get this new family

the answers they need to save their relationship.

well, thanks for having us out.

No problem!

Why don't you fill us in on what's going on?

Our biggest concern is, is there any threatening energies

or spirits here that's gonna bring harm

to him or to myself?

Are we gonna be safe?

I decided to buy a farm

after living in the d.C. Area for 25 years

and get back to how I grew up.

This was my dream house.

The day I moved in, literally the day that I moved in,

I experienced my first paranormal experience.

I was coming downstairs at the front door

and I thought some neighbors had come in.

There was a man standing there.

He had bibbed overalls on, he had a cap on.

He looked like any other typical farmer in the area.

He disappeared in front of me in about two seconds.

My first response was,

"I've been here 15 minutes,

and I've already seen a ghost."

I have never felt so scared.

so not long after that,

I noticed that there was movement in the kitchen.

I look in and I see this elderly lady

standing in there, hair in a bun,

apron on, but I can kinda see through her.

We made eye contact and she walked away.

I got up to see who was in my kitchen.

By the time I took that six steps, she was gone.

the next experience I had,

I was out doing some farmwork.

When I came in from the field,

I had a presence or an energy

that rushed up onto my back,

and I experience that type of energy

every time I do what some would consider "men's work."

a few months later, steve and I got married

and he moved in.

But during the time of his visits,

I never shared anything that I had experienced

because I didn't want to frighten him.

I didn't want him to think that I was crazy.

I'm a former police officer.

I functioned out of somerset county.

At the time when I moved into this house,

I had no knowledge of glenda having experiences.

I wasn't living here long

before I had my first encounter with paranormal.

the first activity that I experienced,

I was plowing in the driveway.

And I just happened to look back

at the front of the house,

and I saw an elderly lady on the front porch.

A bluish-gray dress, white apron, holding a basket.

And as I'm coming through the yard,

I realize there's nobody out here.

The only set of footprints in the snow are mine.

that ended with my wife coming home.

She said, "you look like something's wrong."

I said, "well, a lady, older, came to the front door."

she said, "did she have a basket?"

I said, "yes."

I am now a believing non-believer.

When steve and I realized

we were seeing the same apparitions,

I knew everything changed.

I wasn't upset.

It was actually kind of a relief to hear that,

"if I'm crazy, that makes two of us."

the first time that I saw the male apparition,
