of BattleBots, it's all about the super heavyweights

as their bloodthirsty hunt for the giant nut moves towards its championship climax.

We'll look at the elimination round action as Red Hot Revision Z meets Grey Matter.

Then Atomic Wedgie gets into a semi-final test of grind and grip.

We're also going to be joining the studio by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla.

BattleBots, the future is here. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

We're at the All-American Sport Park in Las Vegas,

Nevada, where a season's worth of robotic brutality

is about to be rewarded with the giant nut.

Hello everyone, I'm Sean Salisbury, and tonight the

super heavyweight division is going to get into focus

as we roll the big bots into the arena. It's semi-final action, but

first, my partner Bill Dwyer is going to break down the first fight.

All right, buddy. Keep that oversized head of yours on that

big, thick neck. I'm about to drop some knowledge on you.

Revision Z has unusually explosive speed and agility for a super heavyweight.

Builders Daniel Rupert and Anthony Valenzuela also

have a linear actuator lever at their disposal,

and they've used it repeatedly to kill their competition throughout the tournament.

Grey Matter has emerged onto the BattleBot scene

from the Pacific Northwest with a bad disposition

and an even badder front -mounted 16-inch spike.

Just as important, Israel Mathewson's creation

has unusual speed for a super heavyweight.

It's time to catch up with the Builder's box side before the fight.

This is Grey Matter. You made some revisions on him. What's new on Grey Matter?

Basically, what we did is I had to fill the tires with foam, so I was overweight,

so I revised the top a little bit, used a tube frame and Lexan construction.

How do you feel about going into battle against the high school kids?

I don't mind.

A robot's a robot?

That's right.

It's a nice matchup of two big nasties. Here we go.

Ladies and gentlemen, this BattleBot's

contest is in the super heavyweight division.

Introducing in the red square to my right, he relishes

the baleful cry of robots who are about to die.

Here is Revision Z.

And in the blue square, turning bots to metallic

matter, the super heavyweight Grey Matter.

Israel Mathewson told us he thinks Grey Matter's

driving power will overmatch Revision Z.

Exactly why I think Revision Z needs to be aggressive with that lifting arm

to neutralize opponent's advantage.

The box is locked, the lights are on, it's robot

fighting time in the super heavyweight division.

The winner will move on. Losers going home.

It's Revision Z and Grey Matter. Grey Matter with that pneumatic spike.

You see that little tail? That is Revision Z.

And immediately, they lock up here early in the fight.

Revision Z likes this. He can use that lifting arm to pop Grey Matter up and over.

The nice thing about this in the super heavyweight

division is we got quickness and speed.

You don't see that a lot with the super heavyweights.

And that could be the difference along with the leverage.

Either one of these bots can supply.

There you see both of these bots going over

the kill saw's bill, but not a lot of damage.

These builders know you got to protect your bottom.

Revision Z seems to have a little bit more power

as he continues to push Grey Matter around.

There's the kill saws that hit that tire.

And there you see him driving him into the pulverizers.

Great driving by Revision Z over Grey Matter.

And he's able to stay away from those hazards.

Big points right there on Revision Z.

How's that big hit right there by the kill saws on Grey Matter?

Let's see if it did some damage. Looks like one

of those rims has been a little bit on the wheel.

Yeah, take a look at his back wheel. That's coming off the rim.

I'm not a big tire guy, but I know that's not good.

You don't have to be to know it's not good.

Especially when you're relying on all four to keep your

mobility up and to keep your size and your strength up.

And right now Revision Z has been on the attack. He's controlling this fight.

Yeah, if one of your tires is out and you've

got four of them, you're losing 25%, Sean.

You're not a mathematician either, are you? There you go.

As we see here now, the kill saws come out. Sparks

fly on Revision Z, but Revision Z not damaged at all.

He continues to drive Grey Matter towards those spike strips.

Look at the right back tire there. Coming off the rim, it's flat.

And that will limit on some of the things that Grey Matter can do in this fight.

And Grey Matter is still going to have some mobility, but he lost a lot of power.

And we can see that when they're pushing each other.

There you see the kill saws again on Revision Z, but minimal damage done.

Great driving by Revision Z, and his strength has carried him through

this as he continues to get the leverage and the push on Grey Matter.

Right now, in my scorecard, Revision Z has taken this fight completely over.

Yeah, but he's got to be careful because they're

in the most dangerous part of the battle box.

You've got your spinner, you've got your pulverizer, you've got your kill saws.

And you've got 20 seconds. Time is of the essence now for Grey Matter.

If Revision Z must stay away from those hazards in

order to win this fight, Grey Matter needs a knockout.

And inside of 10 seconds, Bill, I don't think he's going to get it.

That's why Revision Z, he's got his rear end to

Grey Matter. He's giving him nothing right now.

One little push into the spike strips, a nice scorecard, doesn't seem to be enough.

Good fight, but to me, Revision Z and their

excitement, they look to me like they're moving on.

Grey Matter gets a little too aggressive, so

the kill saws use them to make some fireworks.

And I don't think Grey Matter is the same after that.

Here, Grey Matter spins his foe around into

the saws, and Revision Z learns how to fly.

Grey Matter made a late charge. Let's see if the judges thought it was enough.

Ladies and gentlemen, the three judges at ArenaSide have

scored a 31-14 decision for the Red Square Revision Z.

Now Bill, who has the edge of these baskets?

How about the winner? Revision Z got the better of this one.

He out hit Grey Matter 8-7, got in those three lifts,

and more than made up for the hazard damage he suffered

by taking his foe to the battle box weapons seven times.

Let's find out and take the pulse box side.

So how did you guys feel when you guys won?

Does it feel like a huge accomplishment?

It feels great, especially after we worked so hard on

this. It just feels great to finally accomplish our goals.

Israel Mathewson, you tried to occupy his

territories. When did you feel like things went awry?

Well, probably after I lost the two back tires. I lost my

traction, and I just couldn't push them around like I wanted to.

But you didn't give up, and you kept fighting even when the tires went down.

Yeah, got to do that.

You got two spares to put on here?

Oh yeah, we'll be back.

I tell you, Revision Z is going to be one tough obstacle

for any super heavyweight on the way to the giant nut.

He sure is, yeah, and he's sitting right in the path of Atomic Wedgie.
