Comedy Central Sports presents BattleBots.

Fasten your tool belts, fight fans.

Tonight, we'll see which super heavyweight gets the giant nut.

Reigning champ Dissector storms into the semis, leaving a wake of destruction.

He meets Gladiator, the remorseless rookie that takes no prisoner.

In the other super heavy semifinal,

number one ranked minion is forging for a giant nut,

but he's got to get past Toro, the most dominant robot in the division.

In lightweight quarterfinal action, Herger Pundin, the spinning hammer from Hades,

takes on Dr. Inferno Jr.

His surgical strikes have eviscerated all opponents.

Lightweight Gamma Raptor brings speed, power, and experience to the box.

Will that be enough to defeat Mouser's super mecha catbot

who's looking to leap into the semifinals?

And in the middleweight quarterfinals,

mini Toro T-minus tees off against T-Rex, the spike-tailed terror.

This Comedy Central sports presentation of BattleBots is brought to you by Snapple,

made from the best stuff on earth,

and by Keystone Life, always smooth, never bitter.

We're at Treasure Island in San Francisco, where many have come,

but few have survived the most grueling robot combat competition in the world.

Welcome everybody, I'm Tim Green,

along with my brilliant and funny partner Bill Dwyer.

Fates and futures hang in the balance as we move closer to the finals.

Counting the qualifying bouts, there have

been over 250 fights so far this tournament.

And if you're one of the robots still in this tournament,

you have built yourself one sweet killer machine.

Like the two in our first fight of the night,

Herger Punden and Dr. Inferno Jr.

Herger Punden has gotten a wealth of box experience.

He's won five fights, but his last two wins were knockouts.

Dr. Inferno Jr. has never advanced this far in a tournament.

He only has one more fight under his belt than Herger Punden,

but Jason is an excellent driver.

A seasoned rookie against a rejuvenated veteran.

Let's see what happens.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a BattleBots quarterfinal lightweight bout.

In the red corner, he will punch you in the bolt,

he will kick you in the nut.

Any way you look at it, you are screwed.

Herger Punden!

Six months ago, David Addams didn't even know what BattleBots was.

And in the blue square, he would make a fine

addition to the county coroner's office,

except for the fact that he conducts autopsies while his subjects are still alive.

Here is Dr. Inferno Jr.

The box is locked from later on in his quarterfinal robot fighting time.

Herger Punden comes out and gets the hammer swinging quickly.

Already a couple shots on Dr. Inferno Jr.

and up to top speed, but Inferno Jr. comes in fearlessly,

bended off by Herger Punden's hammer.

Now you're going to see, when Herger Punden starts spinning,

that hammer rises up off the ground.

He's probably going to knock that cosmetic shell right off the good doctor.

Dr. Inferno Jr. waiting patiently.

He needs to get up under Herger Punden.

And there he goes, and he moves in by Herger Punden's side skeptic.

Herger Punden gets up to speed pretty quickly.

A two-wheeled box, historically much harder to drive than any other type of box.

The doctor has to wait to make his call.

The Hellraiser takes a shot on Herger Punden.

Pete Lamerton doesn't like it when you sit in

the middle of his box and just spin and spin.

Now see, Herger Punden is getting underneath the skirt.

He's inside that hammer.

He's tearing him up with the saw.

He needs to get Herger Punden onto the hazard.

Now are they stuck together?

Maybe. Now what he's got to do is take him to the side.

There he goes.

Give a little grinding.

Take him to the pulverizer now.

This is an operation we've seen Dr. Inferno Jr. perform before.

Oh, without anesthesia.

Oh, that's a great view.

Look at that.

Tearing up the back end.

Look at that.

The kill saw sending sparks.

You can see the saw cutting right through the caster.

Herger Punden.

Like I said, they're stuck together.

All they've got to do is separate them and restart this glorious fight.

Spin it the other way.

They're so powerful now.

They're back at it and Dr. Inferno Jr. wisely moves in quickly under Herger Punden.

Saw not working.

Herger Punden gets a shot.

Hammer's a good doctor.

Now that he's got him stuck and he's seen that he hasn't sustained much damage,

he knows he can hook up with Herger Punden and take him wherever he wants.

Herger Punden shivering a little bit out there.

This is certainly not the doctor's fight yet.

He's taking some great shots from Herger Punden.

Look at him.

When that flat spot is spinning, bounces up off the skirt and hits the good doctor.

Here comes the hammer.

The hammer in the side of Dr. Inferno Jr.

Nice fight.

I'll tell you, that's a tough one to call.

That went back and forth, back and forth.

Here's our replay.

There's a nice shot by Herger Punden.

Doctor held him a long time and just like a saw, cut up his wheels.

Let's see how the judges saw it.

The three judges at arena side have turned in a 27 to 18 decision

for the Blue Square, Dr. Inferno Jr.

A fairly decisive victory for Dr. Inferno Jr.

Bill has the battle stat.

Herger Punden got that hammer around and connected plenty of times,

but it was the lifts into the kill saws that ultimately did him in.

Tracy Bingham is on the floor with winner Jason Bardis.

Now did you think that Herger Punden was waiting for you to attack him?

He was just sort of spinning there.

He certainly was.

He's got a really neat system where he can spin and move at the same time,

but he's pretty slow, so it's not really very aggressive.

I just waited out for the chance to get in and push him around.

I'll see you at the semifinals.

I'll be back.

Dr. Inferno Jr. moving into the rarefied air of the semifinals

and entering the Battle Box for their middleweight quarterfinal

on T-minus and T-res.

Keep your TV where it is.

We're back at the championship robot fighting capital of the world,

Treasure Island in San Francisco.

Now it's time for one incredible matchup.

It seems like destiny that these two middleweight robots

should meet in the quarterfinals.

They're both rookies who've easily plowed through their opponents thus far,

and of course, Bill has the details.

I'm all about details.

If you're a true Battle Box fan,

you know that T-minus comes from Inertia Labs veterans

Zander Rose and Reason Bradley,

who also have Toro in the super heavy quarters.

Rookie T-minus, every bit is awesome.

Every fight won by knockout.

T-Rex is then every bit is dominant.

They have three KOs out of five fights,

but Brent Regan and his son Alan don't have nearly the Battle Box experience

that the T-minus boys have since this is their first tournament.

These robots are geared up and ready to fight.

Let's go down to the box.

Ladies and gentlemen, Battle Box presents this middleweight quarterfinals bout.

Introducing in the red square,

he launches his opponents into deep space and leaves them there to rot.

The countdown begins with T-minus.

Five KOs on his way to this match, all in less than two minutes.

And in the blue square,

if you think surviving the Australian Outback is a challenge,

try coming back from extinction.

He puts a die in dinosaur.

It's T-Rex.

That chassis is 6061 aircraft grade aluminum.

That's good because he might be flying.

The vouchers lock the laser on.

It's robot fighting time.

It's a tea party.

T-minus comes out, tries to position with that flipping arm,

but T-Rex wards him off.

Oh!

Now, see, we've seen this before.

T-minus lifts himself.

There we go.

T-minus lifts himself back,

and now he's got that lifting arm ready to go.

T-Rex has got to get in there when he gets that opportunity.

And T-minus is on his back.

Go!

T-Rex battering T-minus so far.

Look how patient.

Waiting and waiting.

T-Rex with a shot to the jaw.

T-Rex showing some great power.

T-minus yet to do any damage at all to the deadly dinosaur.

And T-Rex again.

This is all T-Rex.

I don't know what's the matter with T-minus right now,

but this is not the T-minus we know.

T-minus needs to get up underneath his opponent,

but T-Rex is fending him off with that deadly mallet.

Right now it's T-minus 143 and counting.

Let's go.

T-minus, he said he's knocked out every opponent thus far,

but he has yet to show off anything, Bill.

I'll tell you, I've got to give it up for T-Rex right here.

Unless T-minus is having some problems with his flipper,

T-Rex is keeping him at bay.

Oh, now T-Rex loses a point.

There it is. Get in there now.

T-minus gaining the fan's approval with his flipping action,

but no points scored.

Well, we know the weapon's working.

Yes, we do.

Can he get behind T-Rex?

Hard to.

T-minus having trouble right now.
