This is ESPN Jeopardy!

Introducing tonight's players...

After covering the NFL as a writer, columnist,

and beat reporter, she joined ESPN

as an NFL correspondent.

She now appears on Sunday NFL Countdown,

NFL Live, and First Take.

Here's Kimberley A. Martin.

He's been a part of the ESPN team since 1994

and is currently hosting E60,

The Sports Reporters, and The Biggest Game.

He's also a New York Times bestselling author.

Please welcome Jeremy Schaap.

She hosts the 6:00 p.m. Sportscenter

and is the new lead studio anchor

for women's college basketball on College Gameday.

It's Christine Williamson.

And now, here is the host of ESPN Jeopardy!,

Joe Buck.

Wow, thank you very much, Johnny Gilbert.

It's an honor to be introduced by that man.

Welcome to the first-ever game of ESPN Jeopardy!

- - Yeah!

It's exactly what it sounds like,

Jeopardy! for sports fans,

covering anything and everything you'd see on ESPN,

and that includes our players.

We've drafted a roster of ESPN's most competitive personalities,

along with some other familiar faces,

all hoping to claim the top prize of $500,000 for charity.

Alright, here's how the tournament will play out.

We have six quarterfinal games.

The winners of each and three wild card players

will move on to the semi-finals.

Those will go to the players

with the highest number of correct responses.

The three winners of that round advance to the finals,

where only one can be named

our inaugural ESPN Jeopardy! champion.

Tonight's starting lineup: Christine, Jeremy, and Kimberley.

Good luck to the three of you.

Let's play Jeopardy!

And let's start with these categories.

...and finally...

Christine, you get to select first.

Okay, give me Sports Comedies for 100, please.

Jeremy.

-What is Bull Durham? - Correct.

Women of the 2026 Olympics for 500.

This team USA captain's dramatic late goal

in the final allowed for some overtime

and an eventual win against rival Canada.

Who is Hilary Knight? Jeremy.

Nerdy for 30 for 30 for 500, Joe.

-Kimberley. -Who is Maya Moore?

Correct.

Uh, Nerdy for 30 for 100.

-Christine. -"Boo-Yah."

Correct, but remember your phrasing.

Uh, give me Sports Comedies for 200, please.

On Hulu, Glen Powell undergoes

a radical transformation

to become this title quarterback

looking for a new lease on life at South Georgia.

-Chad... Powers. - Yes.

-I knew it. -I knew it. I know.

- Back to Christine. -

Give me Sports Comedies for 300.

-Kimberley. -What is The Waterboy?

Yes.

Uh, Nerdy for 30 for 30 for 200.

Kimberley.

-Who is Ice Cube? - Nice.

Nerdy for 30 for 30 for 300.

-Jeremy. -Um...

Oh, I forget.

Can't, sorry.

Aah! Too much time.

Winning Time, the correct response.

-Kimberley, back to you. -Mascot Mania for 100.

Perhaps the greatest mascot of all time,

this baseball aficionado is said to hail

from the Galapagos Islands.

Jeremy.

Phillie Phanatic, who is the Phillie Phanatic?

The one and only. Correct.

Women of the 2026 Olympics for 400.

Great niece of actress Gina,

Francesca Lollobrigida earned the first-ever win

Both a cover and role model,

this skier was born in San Francisco,

yet won a gold for China in Italy.

Jeremy.

Who is Gu?

Eileen Gu, correct.

Uh, Women of the 2026 Olympics for 200, Joe.

Kimberley.

-What is the ACL? - You got it.

Mascot Mania for 200.

Sammy, the mascot of UC Santa Cruz,

is this type of slimy creature

with a certain amount of appeal.

-Oh. - Jeremy.

What is a banana slug?

-Oh, that's so good that you know that. -

Uh, Mascot Mania for 500.

Jeremy.

What is Arsenal?

Yes, the Gunners of Arsenal.

Mascot Mania for 400, Joe.

Doppler, the electric mascot from this WNBA team,

should definitely be on your radar.

-Jeremy. -What is the Storm?

The Seattle Storm is the correct response.

Leading the way at 1,700,

now with this little run, Jeremy.

We're going to take our first break.

Back with more after this.

This is, uh, this is always the fun part where we get to learn more.

Kimberley A. Martin. Gosh, first of all, welcome.

- Thank you. -You're so great in the mornings.

-Thank you. - ESPN sends you everywhere.

They've obviously sent you here.

How do you feel competing against these two?

Alright, Joe, two things you need to know about me.

Number one, I'm from Brooklyn.

Number two, I'm a Capricorn, which means

I'm feisty and I'm determined and competitive.

So Jeremy Schaap, watched this man my entire life

as a kid, entire life, and I am determined...

-I'm not that old. -...determined to take him down

just because he's one of my idols.

And then Christine, that's my girl.

- -What charity are you playing for?

So I'm playing for YAI.

It's a nonprofit in New York City

that helps individuals with special needs,

including my younger sister, Melanie.

Autism, Down syndrome,

all types of, of disorders, conditions.

And it's a wonderful program,

and hopefully I will do some good work today

-and get them money. -

That is fantastic.

Thank you for being here.

Uh, Jeremy, I've known you a long time.

I know you to be one of the most prepared people

in this business.

How did you prepare for this show?

Um, not the right way, Joe.

Uh, I-I started studying Shakespeare...

...and constitutional amendments

because I thought it was regular Jeopardy!,

and it wasn't until I was on a call

with some of the producers, a prep call,

and they asked me, you know,

"How's it going? What are you thinking about?"

And I started talking about Much Ado About Nothing

and All's Well That Ends Well, and they said,

"You know is all sports, right?"

And I said, "No, I had no idea."

So I prepared, uh, for the wrong show.

What charity are you playing for?

The International Sports and Music Project.

It's a great organization.

Uh, they build sports facilities, uh, in Africa,

in refugee camps, in Europe.

Uh, they provide musical equipment

and sports equipment here in the US, overseas as well,

um, trying to just bring some sports and music

into the lives of disadvantaged kids.

- - Well done.

Thanks for being here.

Uh, let's-let's go to Christine Williams.

-Hello, Joe. - Uh, hello.

You're, like, dominating, uh, at-at our network.

I thought you meant at the game. I was like, "What?"

No, no, at our network.

-I was like, "What?" -Ehhh, no.

Uh, but there's plenty of time left.

-Yeah, you're right. -And what charity are you playing for?

I'm playing for the Hillsborough Education Foundation.

Uh, my brother passed away in 2018.

He was a really good student when he was in high school,

and he also was a teacher in Hillsborough County

based in Tampa, Florida.

Uh, so we started a scholarship in his name

that is under the Hillsborough Education Foundation,

so hopefully I can raise some money

so we can fund his scholarship a little bit more.

- Oh, that's wonderful. -

Thank you. Thanks for being here.

Thank you.

Jeremy, you are in control

as we continue to play this Jeopardy! round.

Uh, Joe, how about Mascot Mania for 300.
