Pratinjau subtitle English

200 baris pertama.

There are things in this world...

She thought he was being possessed.

...That are not of this world.

I said, "please leave me be."

hello?

Restless places...

it scared me to death.

...Where the dead...

...Walk among us.

in derelict mansions...

You can have experiences in this house

that will scare you to death.

...Dark tunnels...

I could feel my legs starting to buckle.

...And decaying amusement parks.

There is no human explanation for what happened to me here.

There are the "most terrifying places."

a dilapidated amusement park,

now a playground for the dead.

You can just feel the kind of energy

that makes that hair on your arms stand up.

When it gets dark here, it feels as if

there are eyes watching you from all directions.

There's a lot of bloodshed on this land.

In rock, west virginia,

stands a decaying and overgrown ruin,

lake shawnee amusement park.

In its heyday, it provided welcome entertainment

for local workers and their families.

In the 1920s, the coal mines are booming.

Business is good.

People have money in their pockets.

So a businessman came to lake shawnee

and bought the property,

and he turned it into an amusement park in 1926.

He had a dance hall, a swimming pond,

he had the swing,

and some cabins that people could stay in.

For nearly four decades,

the park was a beacon of joy and amusement.

But before long, the thrills gave way to horror.

One day, a young girl came to lake shawnee

and never left.

She bought a ticket and made her way to the swings.

A soda delivery truck

had delivered soda to the concession stand.

And when it was leaving,

it backed into the path of a swing.

she hit the back of the soda truck,

and it killed her.

It's rumored that over the years,

six people in total lost their lives on the park's grounds.

Yet it continued to operate

and was purchased by the white family.

My father bought it in 1985,

and we brought in a ferris wheel.

We got the swing running.

We had paddle boats, bumper boats.

But when we got to 1988,

business had declined a little bit,

so we ended up closing it.

And that's why it's abandoned.

While the grounds are no longer filled

with the delighted sounds of children,

some believe it's become a playground for spirits,

including that of the little girl.

I came here wanting to capture some of the history.

I was filming for a documentary.

I had a camera set on the swings.

I walked away, and when I turned around,

one of the swings was just slightly moving

on its own accord.

There was no wind that evening.

I examined the swing.

There was nothing that should have made

that swing move on its own.

The little girl still lingers around the swing.

I think she was trying to draw attention.

There's things out here that are definitely unexplainable.

I was taking some video footage.

and I could hear a little girl saying, "help me."

it was just a whisper, and it was very quick,

but it sounded like a little girl saying, "help me."

it was just me there, and there was no one around me

that could have made the noise or said the words.

and about that time, something grabbed hold of my backpack

and yanked me back in a semi-forceful way.

My theory is just it was such a tragedy

and it happened so fast

that she may not be aware that she's passed over.

I think it was just her way of reaching out

and letting people know that she's still here.

There is no human explanation for what happened to me

here at lake shawnee.

But locals claim there's a darkness here

that predates the death of the little girl

and perhaps even caused it.

An ancient curse that lingers in the land itself

deep beneath the park.

Mitchell clay was the first

english settler in mercer county.

Him, his wife, phoebe, and children

settled on this piece of property.

Mitchell clay's out hunting one day.

He comes back to find two of his children dead and one missing.

Clay believed that a local native american tribe

was responsible.

So he starts tracking native americans down,

and he catches up with them.

And whenever he finds his son, he's burning at the stake.

and he brings him back to lake shawnee

to bury him alongside his brother and sister.

So all three of mitchell clay's children

are buried on this piece of property.

Ever since, it's been said

the land is damned.

And the ethereal apparition of some being

has been stalking the park's grounds.

I was in the field setting up another camera

pointed towards the road.

And as I turned to swivel the camera towards the road,

I noticed a man walking on his own.

He was very tall, very thin, in light-colored clothing.

As I watched him come towards me on the road,

a car came up behind him and completely illuminated him.

And I watched him for about 15 to 20 seconds.

the man took five or six more steps and disappeared.

I was terrified once I realized that he wasn't alive,

that that was not a human being that I saw.

That was the most frightening experience that I have ever had.

Some believe the man in white is mitchell clay

forever seeking vengeance for his murdered children.

I think his message was "I'm still here.

I'm still watching.

I want you to know that I'm still present."

On land that was baptized in blood,

it's no surprise that the spirits here

at lake shawnee amusement park have always been restless.

coming up...

A haunted mansion...

and all of a sudden, there was a bang

as loud as you can imagine.

...A terrifying asylum...

I could actually see its arm reach out towards me.

...And a sinister saloon.

They started to think that it was

none other than jack the ripper.

A decrepit dixieland manor,

home to a tortured mother's spirit.

You can have experiences in this house

that will scare you to death.

the first time walking through here

was definitely terrifying.

this is a home of the dead,

and it belongs to them.

Closed by the banks of the tennessee river

in florence, alabama,

stands a once-grand southern estate --

sweetwater mansion.

During the 1800s,

the patton family called it home.

But the outbreak of the civil war

tore a hole in this close-knit household.

jane, the mother, watched as her son billy went off

to fight for the south.

She had her beloved first-born son,

billy patton, go to enlist in the civil war.

Unfortunately, billy got shot in the forehead.

Was killed instantly.

they held him in wake in the house.

They had a funeral in the main hallway.

The loss took a heavy toll on jane.

She was just heartbroken and devastated.

Local lore claims that jane was so distraught

over billy's death

that she secretly stored his corpse

within sweetwater mansion.

She had trouble letting go of her son.

She didn't want him to be buried,

so there was a secret room built in the basement

so she could view him.

The patton family eventually moved out of

sweetwater mansion,

and billy's body was given a proper burial.

Years later, the manor became a historic landmark,

and the simone family was hired to watch over it.

I've been here for about 10 years now

taking care of the property

and making sure it's safe and running security for it.

We have cameras inside and outside.

At first, sweetwater mansion

was no different than any other home

the simones had worked in.

But that all changed when the story of jane patton

living with her son's decomposing body

reached the ears of a devilish group

with sinister intentions.

the kids broke in and did a satanic ritual.

And there was a pentagram drawn and a ouija board.

And they had the candle, little candle things
