Should be arriving at the CV

we're repairing in a few hours.

- Specs? - Uh...

15 transverse and rake trusses each.

Should be easy, in and out.

Mm. Yeah, back in time for your birthday, Tyler.

One more awesome night

before I'm off to the U.S. for a couple of months.

Okay, okay. Well, that means we need to go all out.

- All right? All out. -

Gotta top Bali last year, so...

True, but you know, just let me see what I can do.

What does-- What does that mean?

- It's a birthday surprise. - Birthday-- Are you insane?

Updates. Watchstander status?

Mm, negative on watchstanders. We're off course.

We have had a subsurface hit.

52 degrees...

A Lada signature reading.

How?

We're outfitted for repairs, not combat.

- Engineers. - Sir.

All helmsmen and lookouts are down.

Quarters have been destroyed.

Russians are boarding from a surface sub.

Get your weapons, and let's move.

- Sir. - Yes, sir.

- Board! Board! -

Shoot to kill!

Australian Naval Rescue, Kuprin.

Enemy engaged. Plant the explosives.

Come on! Quick! Plant the explosives!

Now! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go.

Sir...

the armory's on fire.

It's gone.

God damn it.

Larue, you remember that discussion we had

last night on mess deck about your skill with an ax?

When I tell you to go, get to work, all right?

Yes, sir.

All right, Tyler, get us eyes on deck.

Sir.

Get down. Down. Down.

- They are hiding. - Search below.

All friendlies down. 25 Russians.

One has explosives, starboard.

Explosives? Well, they want us to sink fast, don't they?

All right, engineers, this barge is now nonrecoverable.

We gotta take that Russian sub.

- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.

See the Australian? Down!

Russian diver inbound, 60 seconds.

I'll disarm. Tyler, cover Bradley.

Bradley, get to the bomb and reduce it to 20 seconds,

and 20 seconds only.

Larue, you're gonna have to cover exit points. Copy?

- Copy, sir. - Yes, sir.

We are in that water

the second Bradley gives us a signal.

Okay, then boom. These Russians can go to hell with the barge.

- Copy? - Yes, sir.

All right, let's move.

Sir, look out!

Go! Go! Don't worry about me! I got this!

Kuprin, intel report.

Kuprin, intel report.

- -

Set to 20 seconds.

Kuprin, intel report.

Status? Where is he?

No response, sir.

Ah, there it is.

The Australians overpowered me. They have boarded.

Order 66! Now! Go!

Stop what you're doing! Step back! Step back.

This sub is now under the control

of the Royal Australian Navy.

Tyler, get on the radio and rejigger to our frequencies.

I want that carrier here now.

Hey!

Hands off, or I chop 'em off!

Bradley, get on nav-com.

Um, d-do you smell smoke?

There's a fire back there, but we're good.

Checking nav-com.

Mayday, mayday, mayday. This is Captain Tim Olson

of the Royal Australian Navy. Does anyone copy?

They've blown their own comms, and...

panel's on the fritz.

Can't I.D. origin, result, method, or damage.

They've disabled the entire sub.

Middle of the ocean.

Nothing for miles.

You know, I don't care how near Russia we are.

We need to chart a course for nearest landfall.

We need to know if this attack is just us...

or the start of World War III.

What is that groaning sound?

- - What the hell was that?

Were we hit?

Status?!

Sir, they've done something to the nav-com.

It's not working. No readings.

We can't be in the middle of the ocean.

We're nearly in sight of Russia.

Tyler, get eyes topside.

I need to know if anything's moving up there.

Hostiles, friendlies, anyone.

Yes, sir. You got 'em?

Got 'em.

Land, sir!

No survivors, but land!

Less than a mile!

Land?

Less than a mile?

We were just surrounded by nothing but ocean.

Pearce, we need to figure out

what happened on that Russian sub.

We need to know it wasn't disappearing on purpose

this close to Alaska.

Pearce, tell me we have some answers.

The Russian sub intercepted the Australian naval vessel

in the Bering Sea along the coast of Russia and Alaska,

but something went wrong, and we don't know what.

There was some type of weather anomaly,

but that's not uncommon for the area.

The Russians attacked

an Australian naval repair ship unprovoked?

Yes, that is correct, sir.

We were allowing them to pass through friendly waters

to get to their repair faster,

but the Russians must have been patrolling.

We've tried all known Russian frequencies,

and there's been no luck.

There's no sign of the submarine anywhere.

Do you have the names of the crew

that were on that Australian barge?

Yes, sir. Unlike the sub,

the Australian wreckage is present in the water,

so the officials are still working

on identifying all of the casualties.

Dozens of the Australian crew are confirmed dead.

But there are four

that are unaccounted for.

They may be among the dead and just not found yet,

or there is the possibility

that they were taken aboard the Russian sub as hostages.

Do you have the names of those potential hostages?

Lieutenant Olson,

Engineer Tyler Armstrong,

Engineer Jennifer Bradley,

and Engineer Lee Larue.

I understand that that's your niece, sir.

Admiral, are you okay?

I'm fine, Pearce.

We need everyone's full attention in finding that sub.

Sir, yes, sir.

I'll call in the NSA and experts on this.

No, we can't. It'll take too long.

This is off the books. You understand?

I'm taking personal responsibility

for this operation, Pearce.

Do I make myself clear?

Crystal, Admiral.

Admiral, where are you going?

I'm going to visit my sister who's in hospice

and inform her that her child

may be held hostage by the Russians.

Meet me in the command center in one hour, just you.

That monster has most likely put us out of commission.

That creature, sir,

never seen anything quite like it,

except maybe in a picture book.

Aw, this stuff needs to be fixed now.

And then we've got to figure out

a way to shift that creature off us.

Bradley, can you undo

whatever they've done to the engine?

I'll give it my all, sir, but I'm certain

Kuprin here sabotaged it, and I'm not sure how,

except it involved fire.

Well, you go work your magic.

Copy, sir.

- Larue. - Sir.

I need you to reset that console.

I need the radio operational, please.

'Cause I don't like standing around, doing nothing.

I mean, we're sitting ducks right now.
