NICK GROFF (VOICEOVER): A menacing supernatural presence
is said to dwell inside this old three-story Victorian manor
that was constructed in 1881.
The reason as to who or where this malevolent presence
came from remains a mystery.
The Greenville Manor is 141 years old
and was originally built for Thomas Gibson, who emigrated
from England and settled in Greenville, where he eventually
owned and operated, at the time, the largest men's
clothing stores in the country.
It was widely known that Gibson was
a prominent member of the local Masonic fraternity.
Gibson married Lizzie Kern and had two sons, Howard and Frank.
Both sons enlisted and fought in World War I. Tragedy struck
the Gibson family when their oldest son Howard Gibson
was found dead inside his room on June 17, 1930.
Howard's most prized possession from the war,
which was his pistol, was partially responsible
for his death.
It was believed that while Howard cleaned his pistol,
it would slip out of his hands and hit the floor,
causing it to discharge a single round that would enter
his body at the waistline, a spot
not usually regarded as fatal.
Howard's death was eventually ruled accidental.
Two years later, his mother Lizzie Gibson
was found dead in her bed.
Lizzie was suffering from health problems for a few years
before her untimely death.
Just four months after his wife's death,
Thomas Gibson passed away inside the house at the age of 84.
The manor was turned over to the McMillen's, who were already
widely known in the country for having
a successful funeral home business.
It started when John McMillen came
over from Scotland in 1799.
In 1822, John utilized his skills
as a cabinetmaker and an undertaker
by constructing coffins for people who
had passed away in the county.
John later went to college to become an undertaker
and he started up his business, McMillen and Son Funeral Home,
which would be handed down from one son to the next.
Five generations of McMillen's kept the family business
in operation.
After many years, the McMillen's moved their funeral business
into another building.
Several families would move into the Greenville Manor,
and would not stay long after being greeted with hostility
from the residing entities.
The current property owner, Marcus, has done a great job
locating historical documents and maintaining
the property today.
Marcus is very generous for allowing others
from all over the world to conduct paranormal research
within the house.
During my walk through of the property,
Marcus informs me that something with evil intent
inhabits the third floor, and mostly dwells inside the attic.
I will focus my attention and use specifically engineered
personal devices that will help me detect
supernatural anomalies, but also allow me to better
communicate with them.
I will determine if any of the spirits
here are associated with the deceased members
of the McMillen or Gibson families.
I will be especially on guard when
I enter the third floor since whatever is lurking
within the attic could perhaps not be connected
to this location's past.
It has somehow invaded this property and now
physically lashes out at those who dare
to enter the Greenville Manor.
People have heard voices.
They have... they have seen shadows.
They have actually seen like little kids.
They have seen objects move.
Door handles to doors being opened
to things not being in the same place that they put them.
You'll hear like walking and... and there's
been people that they'll be touched, you know, grabbed.
Yelling, a woman screaming, crying.
Kids laughing.
Thousands of people have crossed these doors and thousands
of motions have came with that.
And lots of energy is still in this building from that.
This house was built in 1881.
It's over 140 years old.
It holds the energy of the dead.
It was a funeral home.
This does embody every piece of sadness, joy,
and death inside this building.
So in the basement, as we all know,
they did in embalmings in funeral homes in the basement.
We actually have 1940s embalming tables down there
that we know do contain the energy of whoever was on them.
We actually have the tools of the trade for embalming,
including when they got dressed up,
the makeup, and the wound sealer.
And we actually have a stretcher down there.
This building literally contains the energy of not
only the living, but the dead.
As I was coming back down the steps,
and it hit the back end of my knee
as I was coming down the steps.
And I just... I was gripping on to the stairs
as I was going down so I wouldn't fall.
I was shoved down the steps.
Footsteps on the first and second floors to voices
that you can hear throughout the building.
You actually hear conversations on the third floor
between a man and a woman.
On the second floor, there is a room,
there is definitely some kind of energy inside that room.
People that have came through here...
I mean, you can just imagine all the emotions that were left
behind and all the people that have grieved, all the people
who have lost somebody.
Or all the families that have came in and out of here,
or who are still probably here wandering around.
But we're doing our best to bring it back to life.
Mr. Gibson, are you up here?
Mr. McMillen?
Anybody with the family that is running this funeral home,
can you speak to me?
Can you shut one of these doors?
Marcus was telling me about how this should be sealed off.
It's very negative and oppressive back here.
Is there something more evil or sinister back in this spot?
What is back here that's haunting this building?
Are you affecting Marcus and Kate?
Can you tell me who you are?
Are you back in this room?
You working?
Can tell me what your name is?
It goes, yes, Marcus.
Are you affecting Marcus?
Or Kate?
Did you push Kate down the stairs?
Is this the same entity I'm speaking to?
Marcus was telling me there's really strong energy back here,
it's more oppressive.
Somebody said to seal up this doorway
and don't allow anyone back here.
You just said Marcus.
What are you doing to them?
Are you over here in one of these rooms?
Is it the man who shot himself by accident in this room
and died?
Did you shoot yourself in your leg by accident?
Or was it a scuffle where you got into a fight...
in an argument and got shot?
He said accidental.
Is this the bullet hole right here?
Is this the bullet hole right here?
Yeah?
Are you the one watching over the house?
Keep speaking to me.
Keep talking.
Are you back here?
Are you?
Where are you?
Are you over here in this room?
What's that noise?
What is that?
What's that noise?
Holy shit, look.
Look at that.
Justin, do you see that?
Are you capturing it?
I'm capturing it.
Who's moving that?
Who is moving that right now?
A man.
It just goes, a man.
Are you standing right here?
It's like static electricity right here.
What is your name? Is this Mr. Gibson?
Who is that?
Who's back here?
What was that?
That was weird, man.
We walked in here... that wasn't moving before, right?
When we came in here, I didn't see that.
Can you do it again?
Can you do it one more time? Try to move this.
There's footsteps over here.
Footsteps moving.
Can you walk down the hallway?
Where did you go?
There's footsteps moving around here.
There's footsteps.
I heard footsteps moving through this hallway.
I need to get the shadow detection device.
I need to try to figure out if we can see a visual.
Who moved that?
Can I see you?
Can you try to show yourself now?
Can you try to show yourself?
Use the energy within the environment.
