My name is Dakota Laden.

I'm leading my sister and two best friends

on a road trip

exploring the most haunted locations in America.

My gosh!

Go, go, go, go, go. I'm freaked out.

Experimenting with fear and how it affects our interaction

with the paranormal.

Each night, we separate and sleep alone.

The catch is only one of us knows where we're going.

It's about damn time.

I am in charge and in control and it feels really good.

I hope they're having a big grand old time

I have selected a location that Dakota, Tanner,

and Chelsea visited without me almost six years ago

on their first road trip ever.

And it's the only one I have not been to, yet.

A place so terrible they swore they would never return.

We are going to a haunted, decrepit, former poor farm.

Over its 150 years in existence,

the cruel and disgusting conditions here

caused countless deaths.

The psychic stench and imprint of death

literally permeate each iteration of this building.

Shadows are constantly seen coming in and out of rooms,

and people report seeing a seven-foot-tall entity

lurking around.

While a part of me does take a bit of sick pleasure

bringing the team back to a location that affected them,

truthfully, I selected this location

because I uncovered some tragic new information

that may help answer some of their questions

that they've had for so many years.

I just hope they are ready to go back where all of this began.

For my haunted location, we will be doing solos

the entire night, with no flashlights.

That's the worst idea ever. Solos are freaky.

One person at a time going into the building, by themselves.

And with no flashlight now either.

However do you guys feel about this whole no flashlight thing?

What we do is already terrifying,

and to take away the light source,

I think it's one of the most vulnerable positions

you can be in, doing what we do.

It amplifies your fear. It amplifies your emotions.

I don't even know how we've made it this far, honestly.

We've all been kind of getting complacent

with our flashlights during sleeping alone.

And now, without that, paranormal wise,

I feel like the activity is only ramping up

when you take away the flashlight.

It's bringing more fear out of us.

It's, they're feeding off of our energy way more

when we are that scared.

There's something that has to be said for the fact

that we are at a new level of being scared in these places,

that is changing the energy in there.

Like you don't have any sense of security anymore.

You completely lose one of your senses.

Yeah, I mean, the flashlight is the one thing that centres you

and calms you down just a little bit

when you're in your sleeping alone arrangement.

And taking that away, there's nothing.

There's nothing there but fear.

I think it's safe to say this has been our darkest road trip.

I thought it would be just a nice little challenge,

a new approach to the road trip,

but I am very much regretting it.

I just don't know, Alex, about your decisions, your ideas.

We are in the middle of nowhere.

Like, where the hell are you taking us?

We have been sitting in this RV for a very long time,

and I do have something planned for us.

Right now, we are on our way to an abandoned grain silo

that has been renovated into a rock climbing facility.

The tallest one is about 65-feet.

This sounds pretty intimidating.

There is a competition involved.

Whoever gets up the highest will win this competition.

And it may or may not tip the odds in your favour for the overnight.

So, like whoever wins, whoever gets the highest,

they don't have to do a solo?
