I've seen spirits and ghosts my whole life.
I'm able to communicate with the other side.
I walked inside the cafeteria.
There was a man standing there looking back at me.
Someone was in my room.
I'm pretty sure I just saw a spirit.
I see it in the corner of my room, a black mass.
I could hear chuckling in my head.
I felt cobwebs on the back of my neck,
and then I felt ice-cold fingertips.
It feels like it's wanting to hurt me.
I could feel his hand grabbing my leg.
there's not a thing I can do.
It was the worst experience of my life.
We walk into the house. It felt like home.
I met this really lovely girl.
My daughter was going to share her birthday.
And there were a billion stars out, just gorgeous.
- The room got cold. - Something's not right.
I know what waits for me in the dark.
We weren't alone in this house.
I saw somebody staring right at me.
Blood coming out of his eyes.
We're under the control of something.
I felt like I was dying.
she wouldn't wake up,
and she wouldn't respond to me, and her little body was cold.
It was pure evil.
people need to know that they're never really alone in the dark.
my name is jayne eaves. I'm from victoria, texas.
In my house, it's me and my mom
and my younger brother, peter.
My older sister and my brother, bruce,
had already left for college.
my great-grandmother thelma was almost like my teacher
and my best friend.
She lived right next door to us,
so we would go over all the time.
She taught us all how to read.
She baked us cookies when we were little.
she was a really just wonderful person.
my great-grandmother was 105 when she died.
I was 16 when she passed away. My brother peter was 14.
When she died, it struck hard.
she was the light of my life.
at the funeral, we had a big turnout.
There were so many people.
It was a very big moment for our family.
We would call it a celebration of life.
Naturally, I was sad,
but I was so thankful for the amount of time
I had that being sad was kind of selfish of me.
shortly after, we went to a benefit
for my sister's sorority,
and we were staying in a hotel room.
it's late when we all crawl in bed.
My mom was sleeping on the left side of the bed,
I was on the right side, and peter was in the middle.
When I fell asleep...
...I start to dream things that I don't naturally dream.
I could see my grandmother
through my great-grandmother's eyes,
speaking to her in her last moments.
I could see my great-grandmother's legs
in the bed,
and I could see my grandmother on the right side.
My great-grandmother said, "I'm going to be okay."
I believe those were her last words,
and then I floated up to this beautiful bright light.
the dream woke me up.
I felt like I couldn't breathe, and I was sobbing.
then I see my great-grandmother standing at the end of the bed.
She's here.
I could see that she was younger-looking,
but she had this big smile on her face.
She told me she was happy and she was okay.
and then she just disappeared.
It was just for a moment,
but it was a great moment.
You think you lose somebody,
and then they appear right there to you,
and it's too much emotion to fathom.
Having that moment affirmed to me
that she was always going to be watching over me,
she was always going to be there.
Then that's when it all began for me.
after that, it was like a door opened for me.
I never felt the paranormal before,
and now I can't stop feeling it.
one of the main roads in my town,
and it's my school on the left
and there's a big cemetery on the right.
I remember I could sense things there.
A week later, I was home alone,
downstairs eating some yogurt before track practice.
I heard footsteps.
They went up the stairs...
...And I know they went up the stairs
because there's a distinct creak on the fifth stair...
...But no one's home.
I go up the stairs to check it out.
my room's the second to last room,
and I hear my door open.
someone was in my room, but no one's home.
I checked out my room.
It was fine.
I go and I sit on my bed.
Suddenly, my door slowly turns open,
and it freaked me out.
I ran down the stairs and out of the house.
I just went straight to track practice.
one night, I'm in my bed.
I wake up choking.
I feel like somebody was sitting on my chest.
It was like an anxiety attack.
and I see, in the corner of my room,
a black mass.
I have lived in duncan, oklahoma, my whole life.
Duncan's a really good small country town.
It's a good place to raise your family.
Everybody takes care of each other.
It's a really good spot to live.
When I was a kid, my dad was a long-distance truck driver.
he wasn't around very much
because he was always on the road
trying to help provide for the family.
My dad did whatever it took
to make sure we're all taken care of,
even if had to miss everything.
It wasn't like a bad childhood.
I didn't even know we didn't have much money
until I got older.
I've seen spirits and ghosts my whole life.
One of my earliest memories as a kid,
I'm five years old, I was laying in bed.
I had woke up one night and there was a woman
standing right in the window way.
she was not all solid, if that makes any sense.
She was kind of a little bit...
Almost like a double exposure on a picture.
It scared me to the point where I'd yell for my mom
and she just -- they don't believe.
They don't believe that stuff.
After that, more stuff started happening.
I started hearing footsteps going up and down the hallways.
I'd hear loud bangs on the wall like somebody just walked up
and punched it right next to my head.
then it would start scratches at the walls.
it's almost like he's trying to write an "s"
with his fingernails in the wall. Just...
There was a scratch at the window.
It was horrible,
and it's something that I'll never, ever forget.
Now I'd hear the door handle twist,
and I'd just see it spin open.
I'm five years old. I'm not crazy.
But nobody believes you.
They just think it's an overactive imagination,
because ghosts can't be real, right?
So, what do you do with that?
You just -- it's a helpless feeling.
You can't do anything with it, you know?
You just bottle it up.
You get on past it, you know?
I just learned to keep my problems to myself.
Another time, when I was about nine years old,
I was at my desk.
I started hearing the footsteps.
They started in the living room
and worked their way down through the dining room.
I heard them go into the hallway,
coming towards my doorway.
The footsteps come right up behind me.
And it was just pure fear.
I knew it was standing right there behind me.
One night, I wake up choking.
I feel like somebody was sitting on my chest...
...And I see, in the corner of my room,
a black mass.
it was very clearly darker than the rest of the room.
And then I see a figure.
A very tall man, a black suit.
He wore a hat.
He was not from this time period.
I could hear chuckling in my head.
He started getting closer to the edge of my bed.
I could feel his entire hand grabbing my leg.
it was paralyzing.
I couldn't move.
There's not a thing I can do.
after a couple of minutes,
the name "jonathan" came into my head.
Right after that, he disappeared.
I ran to my mom's bed and crawled there.
I felt like a little girl. I felt tiny.
I told my mom about jonathan.
She didn't believe it.
just knowing that you can't do anything to fight this,
because you can't see it, you can't touch it.
You just --
