Having a baby, of course, takes precedence

Is one of the most important projects we've ever done.

Everything that's going on right now,

I just want to get it to a point where I feel comfortable

Kind of stepping away to have the baby.

So we have a lot to do to get ready.

Down by the barn, noah, rhain alisha, and bird

Cut their rebar into usable pieces for the main house.

If the family plans to build through winter,

Their foundation will need to be ready

For the upcoming cement delivery.

We have literally pushed this as long as we can for the season.

Number one, it's kind of hard to get a concrete truck up here.

And the guys we've got coming are good men

That are trying to help us.

We can't let them come up here

And us not be ready and then turn around

And take it back down because they won't be back.

It's just so cool the way it cuts through it.

This stuff little pieces of sawdust and wood

Does not come naturally in the bed.

One problem to making a "bammock"

Is the fact that you have to cut holes into it.

So it made it to where it makes the perfect nest for mice.

Once a mouse finds a spot that it likes,

It does not want to leave.

That's wet.

Alaska, I thought, had a ton of mice.

Turns out it didn't have quite as many as I thought.

Our rodent problem seems to actually be getting even worse.

Eat up, rats.

That's probably about the biggest I've ever seen

Back in alaska.

Here, though, judging from traps

And a few that I've seen from a distance,

Rats are more like small dogs.

As it's getting colder,

They're all trying to find somewhere warm,

Which means all of our houses,

Our barn, and they're just everywhere.

They've wreaked havoc in here.

I might have to raise the old bed up.

If I shake it bad enough, they might try to run out

Instead of just holding still.

If they're in there, they're not happy.

With the winter months approaching,

The browns divide and conquer

To prepare for the mountains' most unpredictable season.

I learned that you are never prepared for winter.

But we have too much work to do to worry about being unprepared.

When you hear a gunshot ring out

And you know it's not one of the wolf pack,

It's a scary situation, you know?

Because you don't know who, what, where.

Growing up, we didn't have a lot of hunters around.

Up here, not every hunter is as safe as they should be.

The land surrounding the browns' ranch

Is open hunting territory.

With only a few days left in washington's deer season,

A surge of hunters have encroached on their property.

My biggest concern is them not knowing

That we have our ranch here.

It's very similar to the incident I had while hunting

When I heard the gunshot, and it's like

I guess it's something that's just going to happen.

We're getting, like, a lot of hunters

And stuff, like, on the property.

I don't know what access point they're coming through.

They're just coming up the road.

I mean, the road is public property up to a certain point.

We're actually backed up to a lot of land

That nobody is allowed to build on.

But most people can hunt on that.

So it's easy for our property to get mixed in.
