Today we are headed to Harpswell.

Down on one of the points.

You can't drive there.

Still early spring, so...

There's no docks in.

So access is going to be a big issue with this camp.

We're gonna need more than three guys.

Oh ya, well, that thing is not going anywhere.

Today the guys are gonna focus on getting that side deck rebuilt.

Now gun it, it'll turn harder.

Jeez, you guys!

- Oh wow, look at this. - Wow.

- Oh my gosh, I love it. - Wow.

What is wrong with him?

Where're we going? Over that way?

- Yeah. - Cool.

Coming in like Baywatch.

Today we are headed to Harpswell.

Down on one of the points,

to meet Ted and Terry.

And their lobster pound.

It's a land-locked peninsula.

So you can't um...

- you can't, you can't drive there. - Non-functioning.

Can't drive there.

Is there any other way in?

- Ah, you could hike. - You could hike?

But that's why we are on boat.

And unfortunately it's still early spring so...

There's no docks in.

Ted and Terry do have a right of way,

to set a ramp in a float.

But Ted has a ramp and a float

that just needs to be patched up in order to get back in the water.

Oh I see. Honey, look at that big pile of junk right there.

Guarantee that's where we are going.

Well, welcome to the lobster shack.

- Yeah, welcome to the shack. - What a spot!

I've been looking for oceanfront property

for a very long time.

A friend of mine told me about

this abandoned place that was on this peninsula.

And, got on his boat,

came down here, and we pulled up on the...

dock, and I said, I'll take it.

It was exactly what I was looking for,

even though it's in total disrepair.

It was a total falling down wreck.

The deck that we are on was like, falling apart and...

Over the years I've been picking away at it.

Trying to, you know, bring it back into uh,

it's uh, original glory.

So what are you looking to have done?

We wanna be able to utilize this like a yoga studio

as well as an overflow for our guests.

What we're looking at is like...

getting some solar out here so that we can power this place up.

And some new glass in here,

and maybe some siding and uh...

Just make it really functional.

I like to garden,

and I was hoping that on the rebuilt deck over here

we could have uh, raised beds along the far side

and that would help define the area.

It's beautiful conditions for growing and...

Also by... by having it along the front edge

gives us a little privacy from the fish bowl.

This originally when we got here, had 300 of these

old, old lobster uh, traps on... on that deck.

In the summertime I lobster,

I have a lobster license and, so we catch lobster and crab.

And I'd like to be able to live off

the property as much as I possibly can.

The tide in about six hours,

- you won't have any water in here at all. - You won't recognize it.

Well, that brings up a good point. Let's talk about access.

What do you have for a dock system now?

Well, essentially I've got

a landing, a pier over there, with uh, a fixed pier.

And now, it needs some attention

because it's not floating properly anymore.

It's losing some of the billets that keep it afloat.

I'm hoping to be able to put a kayak dock off this here.

Having access is everything when you're out here,

you know, remotely like this.

You know, it's early spring,

but you know, a little too early to

put floats in.

But when are you looking to have the camp finished by?

- Midsummer. - And how much do you have to put into the project?

Uh, $50,000.

That all sounds doable, you know, weather permitting of course.

Of course, we understand.

- We just need a set of keys. - Okay.

- There you go buddy. - All right.

Ta da!

Oh cool.

You can see where the original tanks were.

So lobster boat pull up high tide.

Load up the crates.

Bring them in here.

Drop them in the tank.

And they would just store them there until they are ready to take them to market.

So, he's got the windows.

Sub-floors down.

He's got the flooring.

He's done a lot of hard work in the materials.

So, windows, side entrance.

Glass door of some sort to let more light in there.

And then screen in the porch.

Cedar shakes on the exterior.

How do we get to the porch?

Around.

Put some insulation in the walls, pine them up.

Keep the old cedar posts.

Yeah possibly raise it up.

It's cool.

Yeah. Wicked cool.

You can have a door here.

- Yeah. - A door here and another door going into the...

- Yeah. - Let's go check this out outside.

Okay. I get it.

I mean, how nice will be having that

screened in porch right there.

On the camp, Ted wants to make it more of a usable space.

He wants overflow sleeping just,

meditation area, hanging out area.

Studio space.

So we are going to put new windows in.

New door, let better light into the place.

Screen in the one side

to just make more outdoor area.

And redo the larger deck.

Before we do all that we have to study the tidal charts.

You know, we have a short window, if we're gonna run a barge and all the stuff.

We gotta get the best bank for our bucks.

So there's a lot of homework to do.

Get all our docks in a row.

So that we can coordinate with the barge company, with the dock company.

So that it's one good move out here.

Set the docks so that we have better access by boat.

And also at the same time hopefully

haul a good load of

material off the island.

- Cool place. - Wow, tides already gone down a bunch.

Chasing the tides. Tide is high!

That's good.

That's what we need.

Today is a pretty important day.

We've got to get an early start.

We are headed out to the Wiederhorn peninsula

to get some docks set.

We've got a lot of things working against us.

We've got a lot of work to do. We've got some heavy pieces to move.

We've got tides to worry about.

And, it's, uh,

not typically in our wheelhouse.

- Okay. - You wanna flip it on...

If we can flip this, that would be absolutely wonderful.

Ready one, two, three.

Aw, it's not bad. We own this thing.

Yes.

- Oh there you go. - Okay, sweet.

We got that piece for there, that piece for there.

So that's, that's Ted's pier.

- Okay. Pier? - Pier.

- Okay. - His ramp is over here.

- Yeah. - But in order to get the ramp over there,

we have to float it on those two floats.

That ramp is a little too short.

So he's extending it

by adding this piece.

Holy moly.

So it'll go, the ramp onto this edge.

But this edge needs a little extra floatation

to hold that down.

And then that,

big float is going to be attached to this.

So that will get you out there.

- You got this? - Is there gonna be a test later?

- Yes this whole thing is a test. - We got it.

This project is more than just about

the cabin or structure itself, it's about the whole property.

Oh, one more.

They got a unique piece of property that actually has land on two shores.

They've had a lot of issues getting from point A to point B.

We're here to make that transition easier

and then to fix a couple of structures.

Don't look behind you or in front of you or to the side of you.

Just focus on your work.

You won't see the tide going down.

We're dealing with tides which we don't normally deal with.

And there is lot of stress.
