The monkeys have painted Themselves into a corner,

And they're scrambling To get back on track

With our current situation.

You see, several days ago, I bought what I thought

Was a super clean 1968 ford galaxie xl.

How about 11? Cool. -you got a deal.

Hey, do we get a chance To buy it back?

What are you going To do with it?

I want to give These guys courtesy

Of having the first look.

And the other day, They reached out,

Said they were going to Be coming through dallas,

Asked if they could stop by, And I said, "Sure, come on by."

It's good to have Interest this early,

But we have even more pressure To get it done on time.

I gave the monkeys seven days And $6,000 to clean it,

Lower it, and re-paint it. That's it, should've been easy.

But as soon as we got It into the garage,

The monkeys started Poking around

And found heavy Rust in the rockers

And the quarter panels. -does it ever stop?

-and scaling on the chassis. -it's not looking good.

They decided to go against my Build request to keep it simple,

And decided to take The whole damn thing apart.

Why did we do all this?

The large gaping rust holes In the quarter panels.

Amazingly, they were able To repair the rust damage

And re-paint the car In record time.

But unfortunately for them, I mean, mike coy,

When he showed me the paint job, I hated it.

It's got more orange peel And waves in it,

You can't even see The reflection here.

The reflection moves. Here's what I think.

Put it back over there, Take it back apart,

Whatever you got to do, Re-fix it.

Work all night if you have to.

I want it right, and I'm not Giving you any more days,

So you better get busy.

-alright, let's strip it. -yep.

Honestly, richard's problem With the paint is pretty legit.

We only had time To block sand it once,

Which didn't fully Even out the surface.

So, when you look at the paint,

It reflects the little waves And imperfections

And lacks that awesome Mirror finish.

So this time We're going to do it right.

We're going to strip The car back down

And block it two more times Between the layers of primer,

And then apply The final prime and paint.

It'll take over 16 hours,

So we're working Through the night.

And if it all goes well, We'll finish around dawn

With a smooth glossy galaxie xl. Looks good to me.

I can see your reflection In it damn good. Yeah.

I don't see Nothing wrong with it.

Other than the reflection Of your face, that's about it.

Perfect. We've still got To buff the deck lid,

But we can do it in the morning. -it is the morning.

-you like it? -we are just finishing up on it.

If you are good with it, we will Get it shipped over there.

It looks just as good, If not better.

This is a great car.

Russell, come on, I mean, I had Mike coy freaking out

Thinking he was going to Have to paint it again,

But like a true new yorker, Russell opened his loud mouth

And now everybody knows What I was planning.

Ten times better.

We're doing it fast because you Keep telling us to do it fast.

No, I get it, but it also makes Less than awesome paint jobs

That you send back And have redone.

it's so much colder Than it was last week.

Minnesota weather is crazy man.

Dude, this is out here In the middle of nowhere,

I don't even know how you find Out that there's a car out here,

But my buddy called me And said this dude

Has a '69 rs four-speed camaro, And on top of that,

Even more rare, it's brown With a white vinyl top.

My first car Was a brown camaro.

-was it? -yep. I bought it for $75.

wow, that's crazy. When it comes to muscle cars,

'69 camaro, you know, is pretty Much the top of the list.

The '69 camaro was part of The first generation of camaros

That ran from 1967 to 1969.

'69 had all the same drivetrain As previous years,

But all new sheet metal Which gave the car

A much sportier appearance.

The new door skins, rear quarter And rear balance panels

Gave it a lower, More aggressive looking stance,

And the grille was redesigned. The rally sport, or rs,

Was an appearance package that Included black painted grille,

Hidden headlights, fender Striping, and an rs badge.

Got a little bit of rust Starting, but not too bad.

And you can see it has truly Been sitting here for years.

When was the last time It ran?

Probably 1985 When I took it to arizona.

That might've been The last time I ran.

Basically, this car is dustier Than russell's gym clothes.

It's unbelievable How thick the dust is.

You couldn't even tell The top was white.

But there's no problem because It's just dust, not rust.

Do you know if it's ever Been wrecked or anything?

There's one little Dent up front.

But you don't think it was Ever wrecked or put together?

-no. -oh, here's the center console.

Yeah. Yep, the center Console's right there.

is that the drive Shaft from this?

-yeah, it is. -this is a complete car.

no major body damage And all the original parts

Are sitting in the car.
