Now here comes the president's helicopter,

Marine Helicopter Number 1,

landing in the plaza on the east side of the east front of the Capitol.

The helicopter hovering gently just off the ground.

across the Atlantic Ocean, arriving almost exactly--

Exactly as scheduled, at 9:30 in the Capitol plaza

so he can go up the steps of the House of Representatives,

go into the chamber

and address the members of the House and the Senate, Supreme Court,

the diplomatic corps of Washington,

all of whom are inside waiting for him in the chamber.

Mr. Speaker, the president of the United States.

And the president, accompanied by the Escort Committee,

comes down the central aisle, approaching the podium.

He greets members of his cabinet

and those who are waiting to be confirmed as members

as he reaches the rostrum.

Shakes hands with the Speaker, Carl Albert.

A happy president, smiling.

address the Congress and the people of the United States.
