Right now, we have a big storm coming in.

So instead of losing all of our mining gear,

We're gonna go and get it pulled off,

Get it off the ice before it falls away.

Mr. Gold's been on pace to get the ounces needed

But one big, bad storm could wipe out his whole operation.

Even though I need a couple more big paydays to make my goal,

I can't risk losing everything.

The ice was thin at the beginning of the season,

And with the warmer weather, it's getting worse now.

This storm is a recipe for disaster.

Ice has been pretty sketchy this year.

You get high salt winds, it picks it up

And blow it off the beach, and then it doesn't hold.

And if it's not holding, you got to get your stuff off the ice,

Otherwise you won't be mining anymore.

There are already minefields, even before the storm lands.

We're gonna go ahead and keep our speed up

'cause if we hit some overflow, we want to have enough speed

To make it through it.

Warmer temperatures cause the ice to thin,

Allowing seawater to seep through the cracks.

Heavy snowfall adds even more pressure from above,

Causing it to buckle.

And the storm surge can shove the ice against the shore,

Breaking it up or blowing it out to sea.

There is quite a bit of overflow.
