Anna Karenina

The only existing copies of the film have German intertitles.

The Hungarian video version was made by the Compline Studio in 1995,

Commissioned by the Hungarian Film Institute.

The Karenin family

My dear sister! Come to Moscow immediately!

"I'll go away for a couple of days. Take care of everything!"

Anna Karenina meets Countess Vronskaya at the station,

who is travelling to see her son in Moscow.

A Troika-race in Moscow...

"Count Vronsky will surely win this one!"

"Forgive me, please, but my mother is about to arrive from St. Petersburg.

I must go to the station."

Count Vronsky stumbles upon Oblonsky

who is waiting for his sister, Anna Karenina.

"My dear travel-companion, Princess Karenina."

"That railwayman who was just taken away, had been hit by the train.

This is an ill omen!"

"Please, go to Dolly and talk to her! She must come to her senses!"

"I have proof that he cheated on me with the governess of our children.

I can't tolerate such a scandal!"

"I can't live with him anymore."

"Anna!... Would you forgive him?"

In the evening...

"Why didn't you bring Sergei with you? I wish I could have seen him."

"I have his picture with me. You can look at it."

"Forgive me... I was in the vicinity, and I wondered

if you would also be present tomorrow at Princess Scherbackaya's ball?"

Anna Karenina makes a big impression on Count Vronsky.
