Far away...

Way outside my imagination...

There's a different world from the one I make up.

A place where God and the Devil

sit down just to play some cards and badmouth other people.

Where Destiny and Luck drink alcohol

and gamble on other people's lives.

Sometimes I think

that the people from the places I've been

were made up just for me.

The more we don't understand,

the more we live.

Living...

What is living?

It seems as if we live to understand that inside of us

there is a puzzle which can never be assembled.

We think we figured it out, but then we see

that the pieces... are all wrong.

The only way is to surrender.

To hit the road, to trust...

As much as it hurts,

we have to assemble the pieces Life has given us.

We can only understand the yesterday,

and yesterday's too late to be understood.

The problem is, the whole world tries to understand everyone.

But no one even understands their own world,

how to understand everyone else's world?

So, I go on...

I go on this road in order to reach

this little piece of forgotten land,

that is farther than anything else I've seen,

but I'm sure it's as big as the courage of my dreams.

I ride on Time's back,

because Death, she gets happy when you reach her

full of crazy stories to tell.

Attention, attention, respectable rational audience

Light up your eyes

Open up your ear's doors

And allow me to walk in your hearts

As if I were to you

A good old friend

Attention, attention, respectable rational audience

So it begins

a completely normal and trivial show

Hey, Nildo!

Where are you, bastard?

Here I announce, with all the pride

of an enslaved quadruped

Life and its Destiny,

Complicated for a while

Minutes past, seconds later,

Look how men live life

In the search of something

Searching for something

Let's go, Nildo! Let's go!

Something to search

After all, every rational animal

feels the need to find something

Hurry up, man!

Get moving, Life begs you, you and those crooked steps.

Do you want to let the things that follow you pass you by?

Forget it, I'm not going.

Some search for happiness

Others search for success

Many even cast peace away

For hunting in excess

Now I open this story's curtain

So this story may sit by you

And rip that robe off your chest

To tell you

That humans...

Are funny animals

That humans...

Are funny animals

Come on, hurry up, you're not a kid anymore.

Time has eaten more than the rims of your life.

Follow your own road, I'm not going.

Come out of there, Nildo!

Get out! Get!

Get out!

Stay away from me!

Are you lying to me, Nildo?

No...

- Why? - Why?!

You said "Leave it for later" with such assurance,

it seems you have a "later" in your pocket.

Whose "future" did you buy and didn't tell me?

Empty your pockets, thief, empty them.

I wanna see...

There's nothing here...

I didn't buy any "future"...

What...? But then, why did you say

you want to spend the "later"

if in your pockets you only have "now"?

I miss what I left behind.

Oh, my God...

What did I do to You?

Did I throw tomatoes on Your cross,

so you put this idiot in my path?

Nildo. Hey, Nildo...

With all due respect, but tell me something:

Do you have a mouth or an ass,

in front of your face and under your nose?

Huh?

A mouth or an ass?

- Mouth... - Mouth!

Nildie... if you have a mouth, Nildie,

it's for you to eat all the new things that come ahead of you.

And if you have an ass behind you,

it's for you to leave all the shit you do behind.

Now, let's go?

Let's go on our trip?

Where?

Getting out of this nowhere

is at least a shortcut to something new.

And don't you worry, I have the house address,

stuck in my memory.

Let's get there.

Let's go!

Wait...

Ruminant is dying to gallop, aren't you, Ruminant?

- Wait for me... - Let's go.

Let's go, Ruminant! P

Let's go, Ruminant! PA

Let's go, Ruminant! PAS

Let's go, Ruminant! PAST

Let's go, Ruminant! PAST M

Let's go, Ruminant! PAST MI

Let's go, Ruminant! PAST MIN

Let's go, Ruminant! PAST MINU

Let's go, Ruminant! PAST MINUT

Let's go, Ruminant! PAST MINUTE

Let's go, Ruminant! PAST MINUTES

ACT I ALONSO'S DEATH

Look!

It has arrived.

The place won't get to us, Nildo.

We're getting to the place.

I didn't understand...

Never mind. You weren't supposed to,

talking to you is the same as talking to a horse.

Are you saying I'm as dumb as a horse? Is that it?

No! I'm saying you're as mule

as that donkey horse.

So I'll keep my trap shut and you can talk to the horse, OK?

- You know... - Huh?

No, I'm talking to Ruminant here...

Son of a gun...

You know, Ruminant...

In one of those trips I took, far away,

way up North, I met a foreign guy.

Foreign?

Ruminant, is there by any chance

someone listening to my story?

I'll cut my ear off, so I don't listen to that story anymore!

Going back to where I stopped, Ruminant...

That fellow, he was called Adilson.

That's right, his name was Ayrton.

And that Adilson, he was very kind and very rich, you know?

When I met Denilson, he told me

that he was happier

when he didn't even have money to eat

but he had family.

And his tears,

his tears running down both his eyes, Ruminant.

He told me he'd give all his bundles of money

for the chance to get back to being a child

and find his missing brother.

Can you believe that, Ruminant?

Trading boats that go faster than fish

just for the chance to meet his brother.

- Can you believe that? - Listen, Ruminant.

Don't believe all that nonsense, OK?

That's just a story to make you emotional.

Hey, nosy, no one called you here. Could you excuse us?

I won't let you fool Ruminant. He's my friend.

Ruminant, as I was saying...

Are you continuing that stupid story?

Could you excuse us, so I can talk to my horse?

Pay attention to what I'm saying, Ruminant.

And then, he said something else.

He said he'd give all his money

if he found his missing brother.

What left me intrigued was not that he could be around, no...

But that he looked so identical...

to Nildo!

Me?

He looked so much like him, so much,

that you could look and say they were twins.

- I have a rich twin brother! - But, you know...

He said, he said... He said more:

He said if he found his brother,

he'd give him all the money.

So what did I do?

I convinced Denilson to go after his brother.

After all, the man could be, I don't know, starving!

- I am. - Going through rough times...

- I am, too. - All that money, Ruminant...
