On February 2nd, at 4:00 a.m. in a place called Akshayanagar,

a woman named Amrutha has murdered her mother, Nirmala,

and grievously injured her brother.

Based on her brother's testimony, we're investigating the murder.

This is a very peculiar case. These things don't happen often.

I mean, it is a very rare case.

She's a techie and has been working as a software engineer.

We don't associate murders with a person from that field.

But the challenge in this case is that she is educated.

She has already escaped from the scene of the crime.

So it looks like she is one step ahead of us.

Groundwork, especially when we analyze the call detail records,

gives us the contacts of all the people

whom either the accused or the victim were in contact with.

It opens multiple doors for investigation.

We start building a picture of who we're looking for.

Once I know whom they were in contact with,

we have to make a strategic decision here

to talk to that person whom the accused was in touch with or not.

They might also be involved.
