لومړۍ 200 کرښې.

It's a smaller facility.

The floor I mostly worked on was Alzheimer's and Dementia floor.

OK, it's almost time for bed. I'm watching a show.

He passed away in a public area.

It was pretty traumatic for some of the other residents to see.

The first time I walked into the building...

In some places, it just feels off.

I was pretty new to the facility.

He looked at me and ran into a patient's room.

Did I just see an apparition?

I'm by myself on that floor, and all of a sudden,

I hear... Doing rounds?

And I said, "No, I am not going up to the fourth floor."

Come on.

The call bell continued to go off again.

And again. This is my room!

Something here is haunting the halls.

Get out.

I've never seen anything like that.

Recent graduate Jennifer Ede

starts her career as a personal support worker.

She works nights at a long-term care facility.

It's a smaller facility.

It's personally owned and very nice.

The people that work there truly care about the people.

There's probably 200 residents in the facility.

The floor I mostly worked on was Alzheimer's and Dementia floor.

We do all the personal care that you would do,

anything you would do for yourself during the day and the night,

they can't do any more, we do for them.

When you're at the end of life, you need support,

you need people there with you.

Everybody comes in by themselves and you do leave by yourself,

but it's always good to feel comforted before you leave.

Door open or closed?

Open please. I like the light from the hallway.

Of course.

We do have many wonderful residents.

You're not supposed to get attached to people

but we are human,

and we get attached to many residents.

Sweet dreams, Jack.

A series of paranormal encounters

will soon test Jennifer's faith in her calling.

And demonstrate that attachment

can take on a supernatural dimension.

Those look like some really nice photos.

The man in Room 213 lived there about five or six years.

He like to be left alone, kept to himself.

OK, it's almost time for bed. I'm watching a show.

Alright, it's OK.

I'll come back for you.

And you can tell he was a hard kind of man

though his life,

and that's just who he was, his personality.

He was there for a very long time but near the end of his life,

very agitated.

Where is that nurse? Where are you?

Come on!

He used to ring the call bell constantly.

Everyone's asleep.

Guess who keeps buzzing?

I just put him to sleep.

Lots of times during the shift, at least 10 times or more,

that call bell would go off for whatever reason.

I mean, things he needed or just because he was lonely.

Where are you?

I'm calling you!

He passed away in a public area,

and it was pretty traumatic for some

of the other residents to see.

He was from another country,

and they had to keep him in the cold storage in the basement

until they could fly his body to the country

he was going to for burial.

So, everyone was kind of on edge that there was a body in the building

for that long.

Nobody really wanted to go down to the basement.

That's where he was being kept.

Shoot.

The cart's running low.

Looks like no one wants to go to the basement for supplies.

I still didn't want to go downstairs.

I can go. What do we need?

More of these pills.

Want to start on the chest checks? Yes please.

Thank you.

My co-worker said, "Why don't you start doing rounds?"

We have little flashlights,

and we make sure you had the flashlight on someone's chest,

not in their face.

Just go room by room,

make sure everyone's in bed, sleeping nicely.

So, started walking down that hallway.

I'm by myself on that floor.

Everybody's asleep,

and all of a sudden, I hear right in my ear...

Doing rounds?

It was a male's voice.

It was deep but precise, and it was very close to my ear,

and all the hair on the back of my neck went up

and I had chills through my whole body.

I knew somebody was there,

but there was physically no one I could see there,

so there was no way that somebody from one of the rooms

had said that.

I even went back to that nurses' station

and there I sat until the nurse came back up.

What's the matter, Jen?

Someone came up behind me and said, "Doing rounds?"

It was a male voice and no one was there.

It's the late shift, Jen.

My co-worker responded with... Saying that I was overtired,

I had done too many night shifts

and that's probably why I was hearing voices.

This was something more.

I'd been overtired before and I've never heard voices.

Doing rounds?

I'll never forget that voice.

Jennifer moves past this unnerving event.

She has her residents to attend to, both old and new.

Come have a seat on the bed.

Bring your legs up and around, perfect.

Of course, they refill the rooms with new people all the time,

so after that gentleman passed away, we moved a new female resident

into that room, Room 213.

Thankyou, dear. All cosy?

You have a good sleep.

See you tomorrow. OK. Good night.

One night I was doing a night shift and that call bell went off.

And I thought, "She must need something."

She's usually asleep.

I went down all the way to Room 213 and she was fast asleep.

She wasn't near the call bell button so I shut it off,

so then I went back to the nurses' station.

Hey. Got another call light.

213.

Are you sure?

I just came from there.

Yeah. 213.

OK.

The call bell continued to go off again.

And again.

This is my room!

And again.

And I kept walking all the way down to 213

to find her in bed sleeping.

This is my room!

The room felt kind of different that night too.

A little colder.

The next day, Jennifer speaks to the new resident.

Hi. I'm here.

Last night, your call button went off a bunch of times

and you were sleeping.

I said, "You know, do you ever see anybody in your room

"or anything because it was really weird last night."

And she's like, "There's a man that comes in my room all the time."

He's creepy.

He's tall.

And... strange white hair.

He keeps saying...

This is my room! Get out!

I'm sure I wasn't dreaming.

When she told me that, I thought he never left

and he probably never will.

Patients report seeing the energy of this old man

returning to the room, wanting his room back.

That place was still his.

He intended to keep it, so it could just be a situation here

where he's intending to stake claim on that room.

This is my room!

The ghostly occupant of Room 213

remains an ongoing and disturbing presence.

Unfortunately for Jennifer, he's only one of several spirits

that roam the facility.

Doing rounds?

Shut up.

Just keeping it light.

Yeah, keep it to yourself.

He's a jokester.

He loves to play jokes on us and tricks on us all the time.

Keeps us on our toes.

Hi, Sally. I have another blanket.

I sensed someone behind me

and I thought for sure I was gonna be scared by him.

Like, I'm ready for him this time.

I thought, "OK, just keep walking."

And all of a sudden, I feel a hand on my shoulder.

I turned around and there was nobody there.

That's when all the hair went up on the back of my neck.

And my heart kind of stopped for a second

once I realised there's nobody there.

Jennifer has felt death on her shoulder.

She now knows the inexplicable can happen

when tending to someone at the end of their life.

Sweet dreams, Jack.

But even this knowledge

can't prepare her for what happens next.

Sometimes when you see things that aren't usual, let's say,

in a disease or in a person that you know a month ago
