Previously on SEAL Team

I'm Lieutenant Commander Williams, the JAG assigned.

Master Chief Hayes is accused

of voluntary manslaughter for shooting.

Yazeed Nafal, an unarmed Jordanian civilian.

Cell phone footage of the shooting.

Command has issued a no-contact order.

You are to stay away from each other and from Jason.

My detailer called, said that I should hear back

about that Echo job by next month.

She deserves a response.

What do you need a lawyer for?

The i-investigation involves classified information.

Why are you holding out on me?

What happened to Sonny wasn't on you.

Everything falls on Bravo 1.

Trial counsel found out that,

Raqqa Jacques was Ray's torturer.

They think I shot an unarmed man out of revenge.

They upped the charges to murder.

Chief Warrant Officer Ray Perry has already testified

that when you found out about Raqqa Jacques,

you were determined to get revenge on his behalf.

That's not accurate.

So much so that you charged into that building

loaded for bear and shot the first man you saw.

Look, it was a routine op.

So it's routine for you to murder unarmed civilians

on operations? I didn't murder anybody.

This is what they do.

Push your buttons to make you look volatile.

All right, look, can we just runit again until I get it right?

Keep running it.

There's a reason most defendants don't take the stand.

Well, I'm gonna look more guilty if I don't say anything,

so I got to say something.

The judge will instruct the panel that not testifying

is not an admission of guilt.

I'd recommend the same to any client facing a murder charge.

After Lindell comes Bravo.

Spenser, Quinn, Sawyer, Reynolds, Carter,

will all take the stand.

What about Ray?

He'll testify, but he's takenan immunity deal.

Immunity from what?

Dad's other teammates didn't take any deals.

Since Chief Warrant Officer Perry was the OIC

during the op in question, the UCMJ

could technically charge him... regardless of the outcome

of the trial... with Article 92,

failure to obeya lawful regulation.

I'm sure the prosecution

presented him with immunity,

in exchange for him being on their witness list.

Well, if he's working with the prosecution

that means he's gonna have to testify against me.

That's it. I don't know.

I read his deposition after it was unsealed.

His answers are deliberately vague.

He was walking a semantic tightrope.

But he'll be forced to take

a strong position in court, won't he?

They'll want to use your father's friendship

to push the revenge angle,

dramatize Chief Warrant Officer Perry's captivity

and say that his torture was your father's motive

to kill an unarmed man. I think you should go get some sodas for us.

Dad, I can handle this. No, I think that you should go.

I can do this.

Luckily, this won't be tried

in the court of public opinion,

so you and your family won't get dragged through the mud.

The U.S. may be scapegoating you,

but no one wants this situation to get out.

Total media blackout.

That's too bad. I was really hoping

to launch my T-shirt line on 60 Minutes.

No gallery, no teammates.

No family. Not until the verdict is announced.

Sorry, Emma.

It's okay.

The good news is you have a lot of support.

Unparalleled success with high-profile missions.

An otherwise peerless record.

That's now been trashed.

I've gathered

over a dozen references from past teammates.

Great work.

Thanks. Having a "good sailor" book

full of rave character reviews are just the thing we'll need

for leniency with the panel in case of sentencing.

Sentencing?

Bad enough

that the Navy thinks I'm guilty.

Now I have the two of you convicting me.

Hey, um, I don't know how this is all going to fit.

I can't believe I accumulated so much stuff.

Well, I can't believe that I asked a hoarder

to move in with me.

Forgive me for being sentimental,

but you know, you never know

what you're gonna fall in love with again.

Right?

Did you just compare me to this

this crusty Walden Pond souvenir?

Okay, perhaps I need to declutter.

I think that's a good idea.

You should, you should probably cast away

all remnants of life before you met me.

Same to you.

Actually, you know what? Maybe we should, um,

give all of our stuff the Marie Kondo treatment.

That sounds like a martial art.

No, it's when you're, supposed to hold something

and see if it "sparks joy,"

and if it doesn't spark joy, then you throw it out.

I think this sparks joy.

Little bit.

It's Jace.

Hey, brother, what's up?

No.

No, I haven't heard from him.

Yeah, let me

I'll see where his head's at.

Okay.

That sounded ominous.

Jason's worried about what Ray's gonna say in court.

And Jason can't contact Ray directly, so...

Look, I

I know that, I know that we said

we would spend today together.

It's okay. Do what you need to do.

I have... a little bit to keep me busy.

You sure?

Just a little bit.

All right.Okay.

I'll be back soon, okay? Okay.

We need to go back to your JAG's office.

You can't run from this.

You think I'm guilty? What?

I mean, do you think I'm guilty?

The way the prosecution is spinning this right now, I-I

completely get why my own daughter

would think that I'm guilty.

I know you like to do things the right way.

That's why I came down here to help you.

And that's why you need to prepare.Prepare.

Prepare for what, my whole career

to be flushed down the toilet?

I can't even speak in my own defense here.

Well, Lieutenant Commander Williams

said that's normal. Normal?

Like your best friend stabbing you in the back? That's normal?

You don't know what's going on with him,

but he wouldn't do that. He wouldn't do that.

Uncle Ray's family.

You know, I hope you're right.

'Cause never did I think the Navy

would be railroading me, either, but here I am.

Hey. What are you doing here?

Just want to see how you're holding up.

I'm fine. What makes you think I need checking up on?

Well, maybe 'cause your best friend's on trial for his life?

Or maybe because, as OIC on the op,

if Jason goes down, you could be at risk.

In this job, we're always in the cross hairs. I got it handled.

You got it handled as in... as in lawyering up

and getting immunity?

Look, team knows you didn't do anything out of bounds.

Okay? Neither did Jason.

Just want to know what's going on with you, man.

What part of "no-contact order" don't you understand, Clay?

All right.

Sonny Quinn, what are you doing?

Just taking a break.

You know, I've defused bombs

that are a lot less complicated than this crib.

Well, it's a good thing

you have ten more weeks to put it together.

Yeah, well, it,

it might actually take me that long.

You know, you're welcome here anytime.

Lisa, too.

Yeah. We'll definitely take you up on that.

Look at that. Speak of the devil.

Hey.

Your ears must've been burning.

Look at this right here.

Is that crib still in pieces?

Yes, it is, okay?

The damn Swedish Chef wrote the directions.

I told him he was in over his head.

Hey, Hannah. How are you?

I'm good.

I'm, trying to hire a new manager at the bar.

Hey, if you need anything, um, we're here.

Thanks, Lisa.

I'll let you two catch up.Great. Thank you.

- You okay? - I'm good.

All right.
