The first 200 lines.

Seerat, have you done your homework?

Yes, I have.

Hurry up, Seerat or we'll be late for school.

Yes, yes, I'm coming.

Why did I have to see him so early in the morning?

Sadhu!

Sadhu!

Have you lost your mind, Sadhu Singh?

What's all this nonsense?

I just want to die.

I want to end it all.

Only cowards kill themselves, you know?

Yes, I am a coward.

I'm just a big coward.

Sadhu!

It's better to just get it over with instead of slowly dying inside every day.

I can't take their taunts anymore.

Sadhu Singh, you have to trust in Almighty.

I just don't trust Him anymore.

I asked for. Did He give it to me?

I really don't trust Him at all.

We ask Almighty for all the wrong things.

We go to Him wanting all the happiness in the world,

but there's no pain or sorrow that He hasn't experienced Himself.

We treat Almighty like He's an ATM for happiness.

Baba Nanak taught us how to be strong and mighty.

That person who, even amid pain, doesn't feel it,

who's unaffected by pleasure, affection, or fear,

and who sees gold and dust the same way.

It's easy to say your actions seem so sweet to me

you when you're living in luxury.

But to say your actions seem so sweet to me

while going through the tough times, that's what really matters.

We buy big cars and fancy houses and write

"This is a gift from You, Almighty" on them.

But we forget the part where Baba Nanak says

that even sorrows, pains, and troubles are Almighty's blessings.

"Good many endure distress hunger and perpetual chastisement."

"Even these are Thine gifts, O Bestower!"

Worshiping Almighty just so you can get happiness, joy,

and success is like a business deal.

To ask for the strength to face difficult times,

to accept everything as Almighty's will, that's true worship.

If happiness has left your life like a passing breeze,

You'll see that even sorrows will be crushed under your feet.

Either blow your worries away like it's nothing

or drink them down like tea.

Always be thankful,

and pray to the Almighty.

Come on,

let's pray for everyone's well-being.

"Always pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Always pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"If you are praying, my dear, pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"If you are praying, my dear, pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Pray for everyone's happiness."

"Pray for everyone's happiness."

"And pray a boon of good judgment."

"If you are praying, my dear, pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"If you are praying, my dear, pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Seek water for the plants."

"And clothes for the less fortunate."

"Seek food for the hungry."

"And grains for the birds."

"Seek food for the hungry."

"And grains for the birds."

"For the homeless seek..."

"For the homeless seek a home."

"If you are praying, my dear, pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"If you are praying, my dear, pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Always pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Always pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Always pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Always pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Always pray for everyone's wellbeing."

"Always pray for everyone's wellbeing."

Alright, distribute these to everyone, okay?

Give me also.

Hi, Mr. Gurdayal Singh! Greetings to you.

How are you doing?

I've got everything ready to go.

When are you heading to Hazur Sahib next?

Make sure to save a spot for me.

I've been reserving a seat for you for the past five years now.

But that seat is always empty.

No, Gurmukh Singh, I've made up my mind this time.

Well, if you've made up your mind, that's great.

We just need to take that first step,

and then Almighty will guide us through the rest.

Like Bhai Gurdas said,

"A disciple who walks one step towards the Guru to take refuge,

and goes to him with devotion and humility -

the Guru will then advance to receive him by taking a million steps."

The elders are right

when they say fathers and sons should be friends.

But we never really had that kind of bond.

I was too busy when he needed me.

And now when I need him,

he doesn't have time for me.

I had made a vow when we were expecting Sahej.

"Almighty, give me a son and I'll go pay my respects at Hazur Sahib."

Forget fulfilling that vow,

I couldn't even make time for my own son.

And now, when I finally have the time,

my life is about to end.

Life isn't as short as all that, Gurdayal Singh.

It's just that we tend to start living it too late.

By the time we figure out the right path,

it's almost time to go.

If I couldn't go there to keep my vow,

I can at least go to seek forgiveness.

I've decided I'm going back to India tomorrow.

I've been wanting to go back to India too.

But my son and daughter-in-law won't let me leave.

Even your mom wanted to go back,

but did your wife let her?

She passed away still wishing she could go.

Don't joke around, Jinder.

I'm not joking, Johra Singh.

I'm just saying

we have to live with the consequences of our actions.

I can't blame you when I did the same thing to my own dad.

Because of work and family obligations,

I didn't give my dad the attention he deserved.

You are right.

Alright, let's change the subject, you guys.

Bye guys, I'm off then.

- Gurdayal Singh, could you do us a favor? - What's that?

Could you bring back some offerings for us?

- Yes. - Yes.

- Sure, no problem. Goodbye then. - Goodbye.

Happy journey!

"Go for it, young man."

"My heart or Almighty alone knows,"

"The joy in me that grows."

"Well said!"

"Well said, Shinda!"

"No regrets even if I die today,"

"For I've already stepped into heaven's sway."

"Right here! Right now!"

"I have traveled the world,"

"But none can match this place,"

"For this place is like a precious rosy pearl."

"I can give it in writing,"

"You won't find another place like Punjab I think."

"Go for it! Go for it, Punjabi!"

"I can give it in writing,"

"You won't find another place like Punjab I think."

Gurdayal!

Hey, Gurdayal!

You're back, my friend!

Bachittar, is that really you?

"Well said! Well said, Bachittar!"

"Well said! Well said, Gurdayal!"

"Bless you!"

"Go for it!"

My friend!

Oh, Gurdayal,

you've got me all emotional!

Your face would make anyone cry.

My Canadian buddy is back!

Greetings, Mr. Gurdayal Singh!

Gurmukh Singh, look at that, I'm here just like I promised!

But I didn't save you a seat this time.

Ah, don't worry, I'll stand if I have to.

No way, you're not standing! I'll make sure you get a seat,

even if I have to put you on top of the bus!

Master!

Master!

I'm so happy to see you!

- Seeking your blessings, master! - You've got to touch his feet for that.

Yes, yes, of course.

Welcome!

Bless you.

Why's my son out there?

It's stuck.

Come on, let's go get it out.

"I let nothing make me fret,"

"My own path I steadfastly set."

"My heart with joy I firmly fill,"

"While tensions in pockets lie still."

"I let nothing make me fret,"

"My own path I steadfastly set."

"My heart with joy I firmly fill,"

"While tensions in pockets lie still."

"Incomparable! You're incomparable, my friend!"

"Like Chandigarh is proud of its sectors,"

There the dad has taken his son's hand.

There we go!

- "We're proud of our sons," - More throttle, master!

- More throttle, master! - "Our mighty tractors."

- "We're proud of our sons," - Use all your strength.

More throttle, master! Give it some more gas!

More throttle, master!

It got out! It got out!

- This son only listens to his father. - He got it out.

"Go for it!"

He may have left the village,

but he hasn't lost those old habits!

Son, I made it here safe and sound.
