The first 139 lines.
My first impression was of a normal boy.
But he wasn't like the immature boys that I disliked.
Princess Kathyln?!
And Prince Curtis?!
#11 The King Celebrates.
What's the meaning of this?
Your Highness, my friends and I were enjoying a chat
when that barbaric commoner attacked us for no reason!
Of all the nerve. You were—
We were doing nothing!
Do you really think you could injure this dwarf
and expect us to believe that excuse?
Is that true?
No, sir! It was in self defense!
It's such an obvious lie. How can my brother be so foolish?
What absolute idiocy.
Arthur!
How dare you speak to the prince of Sapin like that!
I have to apologize. I tend to speak in a coarse fashion when I hear lies.
He's so small. Where is all this strength coming from?!
Now, now.
Please forgive my nephew.
He is simply trying to say that those other boys are lying.
Mr. Helstea? What are you doing here?
We came across that group bullying the other boy.
You dare lie to me?
Identify yourself.
My name is Jamiel. I am the eldest son of the Trident family, Your Highness.
The Tridents?
This has become complicated.
The Tridents make
significant donations to both Xyrus Academy and the royal family.
If something were to happen to their heir...
Your acts of violence are—
Given that nobody was seriously injured,
if all involved agree to overlook what's happened...
Of course. Even royalty won't risk messing with me.
Uncle Vincent, you have one of those rolled letter communicators, right?
I do, yes.
Who are you contacting?
Cynthia Goodsky.
Is this kid a moron?
Does he really think the director of Xyrus Academy will answer?
Vincent.
I can't say I appreciate you contacting me without any warning like this.
It's Arthur Leywin, ma'am.
Arthur! You, on the other hand, I'm always happy to hear from.
How long has it been?
She sure changed her tune!
A student at the academy, Jamiel Trident, and his friends
were bullying a dwarf because of their prejudice.
I'd like you to expel them.
This is what you called me about? And did you say Trident?
I understand, but considering who's involved...
And there we go. That commoner might be familiar with the director,
but that's nothing compared to the amount of money
we've poured into the academy.
If you still want me to enroll...
All right, they're expelled!
Please forgive my earlier behavior.
I should have been more firm in my response; that was unbecoming of a prince.
I should apologize as well. My emotions got the better of me.
Justifiably so. We must eliminate racial discrimination from the continent.
Arthur, eh? He seems like a handful.
I thought as much when I first met him, but...
Hey, are you listening to me?
Excuse me.
Would you care to join me for tea sometime?
Certainly.
I'll see you at the academy then.
What was that?! What happened to my cold-blooded, taciturn sister?!
There really is something different about him.
Humans, elves, and dwarves in attendance...
I am Blaine Glayder, king of the Kingdom of Sapin.
The kings and queens of your kingdoms
have all gathered here on this momentous day.
Are you all aware of the animosity between men and elves?
Or how dwarves have been considered little more than business partners?
I ask you to let the past be the past, cast aside your old prejudices,
and look at things from a new perspective.
Doing so will serve not only your own best interests,
but those of your children, and the future of the entire continent!
The other continent is finally being revealed to the public.
What I'm worried about is the fact that they've been able to
camouflage mana beasts in order to surveil Dicathen.
That would imply they either fear us or are hostile.
Is something wrong, Arthur?
You seemed like your mind was somewhere else.
I wouldn't say that.
In discussions about the future of our continent,
I have found myself in agreement with King Glayder.
There are places within our home, the Dicathen Continent,
where few have ever tread due to the danger.
But suppose that even greater danger and mystery
existed outside of our continent.
We are here today, ladies and gentlemen, to officially announce...
that we have evidence of another continent existing beyond Dicathen.
We can confirm that they have attempted to make contact with us,
but neither of our continents have the technology to make such a long journey.
All of us are kin, in that we were born on the continent of Dicathen.
I myself am proud of this fact,
and would hope that future generations feel the same way.
This marks the beginning of a new era for those of us
who call this continent our home!
There will surely be challenges in coordinating
the three races and their respective kingdoms.
As part of that,
we would like to name six individuals and their new duties.
They are representatives of their respective races,
trusted by the royalty of each for their courage and intelligence.
The six of them will work to ensure the safety and
prosperity of their homelands,
in a new era which we will all be able to enjoy.
They will be collectively known as the Six Lances,
and in time become known as symbols of our continent.
Alea Triscan.
Varay Aurae.
Olfred Warend.
Aya Grephin.
Mica Earthborn.
Bairon Wykes.
Did he just say "Wykes"?
As in Lucas' brother?
To the Six Lances: you are to defend us all and seize glory.
To all who train to become mages: with daily dedication,
you may one day become one of the Six Lances!
Because potential is limitless!
This was a day where I was confronted with reality.
Lucas Wykes...
Despite causing the death of his comrades,
using his family's connections and authority, he was cleared of wrongdoing.
I had been warned that retribution against Lucas would be suicidal,
and now I see that's due to his brother.
A brother who is not simply a powerful mage, but now one of the Lances.
I had more pressing matters to attend to than Lucas, anyway.
Yay! Let's go, let's go!
You have to stay and watch my room.
Uncle Vincent warned us about strangers sneaking in during the party.
I don't want to put you in danger.
