I just find it ironic that when

we have these street demonstrations in favor of amnesty,

we have 10,000 people that show up with Mexican flags.

That's character-

- There's nothing that could have been done

to make this situation better,

other than turn back time, so it didn't happen at all.

In this moment, there were two choices for me:

to give up or to start a completely new life

from the beginning.

I chose the latter, and made this the day of my rebirth.

From a sober standpoint,

if someone were to ask me if I am an alcoholic,

then I'd have to answer yes.

When I look back at my life today,

you could say everything was just like in a storybook.

Well, almost everything.

My parents, Sabina and Banat Stein

immigrated 15 years ago from Germany

and settled in California.

My father started fast food restaurant,

as if they weren't enough in America.

But he did very well.

Before long, he was earning lots of money.

The only problem was that I got pregnant

at the tender age of 14.

That's Elisabeth, my firstborn.
