Although the topic is complicated,

I am not going to deliver a sermon or discourse.

We have a projector and laptop here.

But I'm not going to make any fancy presentation.

We'll use these only if necessary.

I am here to share an experience.

A true story...

...from my friend's life.

Twenty years ago, my friend

Avinash Pathak,

got an engineering diploma and joined a gear box manufacturing company,

as a Supervisor.

He worked hard, did well and eventually,

became the Production Manager.

He was quite content when one day...

Our company is going to stop manufacturing gear boxes.

Why did I choose to retire?

Why couldn’t I learn the new software?

I wondered where would that take me?

Even if I did learn this software,

there would be something new within an year.

I would have to learn that too.

Change your cell phone every six months.

Buy a new computer every couple of years.

Change your definition of good and bad every five years.

I felt this must stop at some point.

So I have decided to reject change.

When I declared my decision,

my daughter had asked me,

“Dad what will you do then?”

I didn’t have an answer then,

but now I do.

I have lost out on many things over the years.

I am fond of photography.

I used to enjoy attending music concerts.

I want to see Europe.

Now I have ample of time for all these plans.

I didn't sleep at all. -Why?

When I did doze off finally, the alarm rang.

Just cancel the damned thing.

I am going to laze in bed till 10 every morning.
