Welcome back to the midwest, you guys.

I did save the worst for last.

Of course you did!

We are going to wisconsin's

most haunted abandoned asylum.

This is where multiple nurses took their own lives.

It's a black mark that nobody wants to talk about.

We are going to be the first group ever

to spend an entire night at this location.

What? You see that?

Holy crap! Do you see that?

Does that look like a person?

oh, my god.

Hello?

my name is dakota laden.

I am a documentary filmmaker.

For the past few years, I've been investigating

the paranormal with zak bagans and the "ghost adventures" crew.

Dakota laden. Welcome, buddy.

I grew up in a house where paranormal activity

terrorized my entire family.

It has gripped my sister,

my childhood best friend,

and me ever since.

So, I had an idea --

a psychological experiment... Aah!

...Where I would test how terror affects the human mind,

what it reveals about our true selves,

and just how much of it a person can withstand.

To understand the paranormal,

first we need to overcome our fear.

I'm leading us on a road trip to explore

the most haunted abandoned locations in all of america.

Each night, we'll separate and sleep alone.

The catch is, I'm the only one who knows where we're going.

this is it.

This is the last stop of the winter road trip.

Right now, we just got into wisconsin,

where it is freezing cold.

I am talking like almost zero degrees.

I just can't believe that we made it this far.

We survived chelsea and tanner's location picks,

and this is going to be a very challenging end.

For our last stop, we are going to a massive

abandoned asylum in wisconsin.

In operation for 61 years,

the asylum witnessed numerous deaths

from both patients and employees.

There's something different about this location.

It has something I have never heard of before.

Due to the darkness, sadness, and trauma,

seven nurses took their own lives in the dormitories.

Since it closed in 2002, only one other paranormal group

has been allowed inside its walls.

This is what drew me to this location

is the fact that we'll be going into places

and areas inside of the asylum

that no one else has ever been in before.

We are going to be the first group ever

to spend an entire night at this location.

- Guess what? - What?

I'm freezing.

You're freezing cold?

yeah. Where the heck are you taking us?

It's, like, all tundra and freaking snow.

This is wisconsin.

Welcome back to the midwest, you guys.

You know, there's other ways to kill me,

if that's your intention.

I'm not trying to kill you guys.

It seems like it.

I mean, I will say, though,

I did save the worst for last.

Of course you did.

I'm nervous as hell for it, but I'm so excited

because we are one of the first groups

ever allowed inside.

We will be the first group to spend a full night there.

Only one paranormal team

has ever been allowed inside,

and they haven't even explored the whole building.

We're all going into this one blind.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

It's freaky. Yeah.

I don't know, it leaves me, like, terrified a little bit.

No, it's scary. It's like a blank canvas.

Like, it's going to require us

to use everything that we have,

all of our experiences,

to tell this location's story.

Yeah. Wisconsin in general, though,

is said to be very paranormal supernatural,

like ufos and aliens.

Geez. Yeah.

Okay. I mean, me and chelsea,

we actually had a ufo encounter in wisconsin.

In wisconsin. Do you remember that?

We had something follow us

about 10 feet away from our car.

It was about a 4-foot-round, like,

ball of light. Ball of light.

And it was just breathing next to our car.

And following us at like 40 miles per hour

for at least two minutes. For a while.

I had my camera in my hand,

but I was so, like, mesmerized by it.

I was staring at it for several minutes,

and I never rolled up my camera.

And then it just took off into the wood.

Super fast, and since that day,

I've been so fascinated with the ufos and aliens.

I feel like those types of thrills are just,

like, ingrained in our souls.

Like, we love things that are unknown.

We love chasing things you can't explain.

Speaking of ufos,

I wanted to make a pit stop at a restaurant

that a lot of paranormal and ufo enthusiasts go to

to share stories of the unexplained,

and I don't know.

You'll see in a minute when we get there,

but this is a restaurant

I just felt that we could not pass up,

especially because we'll be passing right by it.

this is it, you guys.

Alright. Let's go check it out.

Check it out already.

Oh, my gosh, look at this!

Look at this! This is awesome. Look at that.

Oh, that's pretty cool. You guys want a picture?

That is fricking cute!

god.

Wow. Beautiful.

Okay, say, "aliens!"

aliens!

Got it. Alright, let's go in.

I hear that bill, the owner here,

is supposed to be a character, so let's go meet him.

- Let's go have some fun. - Cool.

Need some light in our lives.

Holy crap. Oh!

Oh, wow. This is amazing.

This is so great. Yeah, this is so cool.

I've never seen so many aliens in one spot.

I am dakota. Nice to meet you. Dakota.

Hi. What brings you to town?

Well, we are on a road trip,

and I'd heard of your place.

And I knew that we were in an area that's said to be,

like, a ufo hot spot.

Sounds like everyone's

having supernatural experiences out here.

Oh, yeah. Many, many, many. Mm-hmm.

Why do you think wisconsin, this part specifically,

has so many encounters?

I grew up out here,

and there was always strange things going on, you know?

We had a crop circle out here in '95,

out in the cattails, all interlaced,

and nobody would talk about it.

They were afraid to talk about it because,

well, they think you're a little bit whacked, you know?

Yeah.

We have a lot of paranormal stories of our own,

and I feel like one of, you know,

the crossroads that we always find is that,

you know, telling these stories, it's always so vulnerable,

because, you know, it's hard to, like,

tell someone something that's so unexplainable.

Unexplained. Yeah. Yeah.

Have you heard of the -- I'm sure you have --

the lake michigan triangle? Yes.

A lot of my customers that come in

and share ufo stories

see them out on lake michigan.

They go into the water,

they come out of the water.

There was a fella from sheboygan,

that he had seen this thing come out of the sky,

go into the water,

and 20 minutes later, it came out and just gone.

How does that even work? How does something go in?

I don't know,

but it's interesting to think about.

Super interesting to think about. Yeah.

And this all happened in this area? Mm-hmm.

About six, five doors down.

No way.

It's the dang, like, michigan triangle.

How far away is the location we're staying at?

The location we're staying at's

about 45 to 50 minutes from here,

right next to lake michigan,

and that's all I can say, though,

because they don't know.

Keep your eyes open. Yeah.

And see if you can see something

coming out of the lake, lake michigan.

Yeah. Yeah, we'll be right there.

Be careful. You never know what's out there.
