So, Rose Mont out here in Gallatin, Tennessee.

This is an old property.

It's actually been home

to the same family for, like, six generations.

TAPS has been called to Gallatin, Tennessee

to investigate the historic Rose Mont,

a former 500-acre cattle and thoroughbred horse breeding farm and plantation.

Built in the mid-1800s,

it was home to the influential Guild family

who lived there for over a century.

But now, it's occupied by harrowing paranormal phenomena.

We're being called in by Kate Ullery

and she's the site director of Rose Mont.

She just started about eight, nine months ago

and there's just a lot of different claims that seem to be going on

and they have some concerns about it.

They've said that employees,

the groundskeepers,

even visitors to the property are having

experiences, full-bodied apparitions

of people wearing period clothing.

Apparition of a woman wearing a gown,

a teenage boy is being seen there,

a young girl,

and these are just the visuals.

And also, people are claiming, uh, to be,

uh, grabbed and touched.

Wow.

Some people are so scared that they leave the house.

Well, that's not good. - No.

And we'll have to get to the bottom of that

and see what really is happening in that regard.

Well, I cannot wait to see this place.

Thanks so much for having us out here.

Well, why don't you tell us some of the history of this property?

The house itself is a Louisiana Creole plantation.

It was built by, uh,

Josephus Conn Guild and his wife, Catherine.

He was a judge, a lawyer, a politician.

He also was influential in getting the railroad to run through Gallatin.

I mean, that would help this whole area prosper.

Yeah, and it did.

So, it was built in 1842, right?

Yeah, yeah, so,

they built it in three sections.

So, the center section was first,

followed by the South Wing and completed with the North Wing.

Most of the furniture, is it original?

So, there is a lot of original furniture.

So, back then, Rose Mont was used for thoroughbred horses and cattle?

Yep, longhorn cattle, for sure.

So, this property, did it ever have any enslaved individuals?

It did.

There's some mention of up to 60.

Oh, geez. Okay.

And what was their main positions to handle?

So, since we were largely livestock,

they would've been lots of stable boys...

Okay. - ...house servants.

We didn't have fields like a lot of plantations.

We didn't need that many people.

Okay.

And it's been in the same family for, pretty much, six generations?

Yeah, six generations.

Josephus and Catherine had nine children,

five who lived to adulthood.

And then, I found a gravestone for a girl named Victoria

and found out that she lived to be 29.

The only thing we know for sure is that she was

infirm in some way. - Okay.

Josephus and his wife lived here until just,

kind of, right after the Civil War.

So, who inherited the property from Josephus and Catherine?

His son, Walter, and his wife, Betty, took it over.

Tragedy devastated the Guild family again

when Walter, who had been suffering from Civil War injuries

for over a decade,

died in 1879 at the age of 36.

How many children did Walter and Betty have?

They had four boys who lived,

a daughter that died in infancy... - Okay.

...and then, they had a son,

Walter Jr., that died of epilepsy at 19.

Out of those six generations,

I mean, a lot of the family members passed on the property

or in this house, correct?

Yeah, lots of birth and death

over in the primary bedroom.

Okay. So, when did it change hands?

The town actually bought it in '93.

And now it's just open for historic tours?

Yeah. - Okay.

So, you-- How long have you actually worked here?

Uh, I've been here for about eight months.

And then started having all of this activity. - Yeah.

Like, pretty much, right away.

Footsteps are pretty frequent,

all over.

So what other experiences have you had?

The most unnerving one was probably...

One night, I was closing up

and I ran into this daybed,

and I got giggled at.

Like, right behind me. - Oh, geez.

That was, like, the one that I was, like, "Uh,

that's scary." - Yeah.

Claims of voices have been reported, not only in the house,

but outside as well.

One night, we had finished the Living History program here,

and we were hanging out in the parlor downstairs.

And I heard from behind me,

a person on the porch definitely said,

"Yes, sir. Yes, sir."

"Yes, sir." Twice.

I walked outside and looked around.

There was nobody out there.

Former enslaved people and Guild family members

are believed to still restlessly roam this property.

There have been reports on a male apparition

seen on the first floor breezeway.

Ominous shadow figures have also been witnessed on the first floor.

As well as the apparition of a young man,

believed to be Walter Jr.

People frequently seeing, like, a teenage boy

in the doorway from my office in that primary bedroom.

Also, in the primary bedroom on the first floor,

where most of the family's deaths occurred,

a historical reenactor was physically touched.

We were just sitting in the bedroom,

and I felt something tugging at my headdress.

And then it pulled it off my head.

And then, I feel fingers come down my back.

Like something's playing with me.

That freaked me out.

And there's also been a woman seen in a gown?

Yes. Usually, upstairs.

Lots of people have seen her

along a porch, looking out in the garden too.

Numerous people have seen her. - Yeah.

Oh, wow, okay.

On the second floor,

a dark and terrifying presence has also been felt

in the guest and girl's bedroom.

As well as a crib rocking on its own.

We heard children have been seen too.

There is a little girl.

Children would say, "Who's the little girl?"

Because she would be peeking at them

up the stairs. - Okay, so interaction, then?

Yeah. - Okay.

In the outside kitchen,

a threatening energy and a male apparition have been encountered.

So, these apparitions,

have they ever interacted with anybody

or are they just seen doing their own thing?

They're typically seen doing their own thing.

Is there anybody here that's afraid to be here,

or has left 'cause they don't like to be here?

There are days that I leave.

Like that I'm working in my office,

and everything just seems a little more alive.

And I'm like, "I'm gonna work up the road."

And I go work up the road.

Okay.

So what are you hoping that we're able to accomplish here?

I, just, would really like some answers.

Well, I think from here, we're gonna go talk to the crew,

start figuring out how to set up,

and, uh, get this place covered.
