Were we communicating with somebody earlier?
Can you do that again by setting off our equipment
or turning on a flashlight?
Hey! Are you **** kidding me?
- Man: My god. - Oh, my **** god.
is this place a portal to hell?
that's bones.
serious?
he believes that you're demonic...
...So this should really piss you off.
this is day one of our
iron island museum investigation
here in buffalo, new york,
I believe this place is called iron island
because it's totally surrounded by train tracks.
Yeah. So it's kind of like its own little island.
I'm kind of intrigued about this museum.
I think just because this building's had
so many different faces. Yeah, for sure.
The information that we have -- yeah.
It's, you know, built in the early 1880s,
then it was a church until about 1940.
Mm-hmm. And then it was a funeral home. Yeah.
And now it's a museum. It's had a few evolutions.
And the current owners, marge and linda,
have had some really weird experiences
since they've taken over.
It's a lot of residual stuff.
So you'd hear sounds.
there's been a lot of shadows being seen,
movement of objects like furniture.
Linda's mom, marge, is terrified.
She believes that there is a demonic presence there.
I guess she had a really harrowing experience...
- Mm-hmm. - ...Where she saw something.
And they've had other investigators
come in these last few years
that have also had negative experiences,
including people thinking that there's some portals there.
so let's go check out some portals.
Let's check it out.
snowy.
- Definitely a little different. - Yeah.
- From when it was built. - Yeah.
There are a lot of things that could be causing
the hauntings, from things
that have occurred in the building
to the fact that this place was a church,
it was a funeral parlor.
Like, it's had a lot of significant spiritual faces,
if you will.
So there's something to be said about that.
Let's do this.
it's ominous, though. That's the feeling.
That's that's what I'm vibing on right now.
- Hi. - I'm marge.
I'm jack. Nice to meet you, marge.
Nice to meet you. How you doing?
Hi, I'm linda. Hi. Jack. Nice to meet you.
- Hi. Katrina. - Come on in.
Thanks for coming out to iron island.
Oh, thanks for having us. Jack: Yeah.
well, we started a small storefront down the street
with the museum back in 1998,
and we just figured we'd have a neighborhood museum.
And then the funeral director who owned this funeral home
at the time liked what we were doing,
and he called me up out of the blue
and asked if we would accept the building.
He was going to donate it to us.
And I was like, wow, you know, no one does that.
- Yes, really. - So we moved down here
in August of 2000.
And so we've been here ever since.
And we promote the neighborhood, the railroad,
the military, everything that surrounds us.
And hauntings started happening to different people
that would come in, or different volunteers that would come in.
It took us almost like seven years
before we finally said something to each other. Hmm.
- Jack: Hmm. - Really?
- Yeah. - So you guys were all
having these experiences, but never talked
to each other about it. Exactly.
Do you think that some of these spirits are people who,
their bodies were here during -- that being a funeral home?
I do. We have the records of a lot of people
who were waked out of here.
A lot of them were children.
What is it that you guys have experienced
or other people have experienced
make you think that something negative is here?
Linda: The shadow man, and some dark voices
we picked up that tell us to get out.
One day I was in here, and I looked to my right.
There was a very tall figure of a man all in black.
And his eyes were like glowing coals.
I couldn't make out any other features on his face,
but just from his eyes I could tell he was angry.
I was quite frightened.
We've heard a lot of reports that there's portals here.
I remember there was a psychic here,
and they're the ones that said
there were two portals in this building.
What do you guys think it is?
What do you think is happening?
And why, ultimately?
Well, I was hoping you guys would tell us why.
linda: I do think if people come in here
with the wrong intentions, it brings out some negative
and dark that might be in here just hiding away someplace.
Katrina: So, like attracts like.
Attracts it. Exactly. That's my feeling. Okay.
So can we get a tour of the museum,
start feeling out the space? Linda: Okay.
when we first started thinking the building was haunted,
we had a group in here, they were down from toronto,
and there were two psychic women with them.
In this room, they kept telling us that there was
a little boy here who was six years old.
- Katrina: Yeah. - And his name is tommy.
So the original funeral director left an entire box of records
from people who died from 1958 to 1969.
We ended up finding a little boy named tommy
that had died at the age of six.
Oh, so you actually know who tommy is?
We know who tommy is. This is tommy.
And he was waked in this room in this communion outfit.
So we started calling this the kids' room
because they started picking up different things
with the children in here.
Why would they come here? Because they were waked here,
do you think, or... I think they come here
because they come here to play. Mm.
I think this is a place they feel comfortable and protected.
And, you know, a lot of people don't like
to talk about children that have passed away.
But my feeling is that they they, um,
they were living. Yeah.
And people need to know that they were around.
Yeah.
And if there is something dark here, evil here,
I certainly don't want it bothering the kids.
So is that kind of your main mission in all of this?
Yes. Oh, yes, definitely.
But another thing that happens in here,
there was a group of our friends who were in this room,
and they were investigating,
and there was a ball laying on the floor,
and the ball starts moving by itself.
No one's around it and it moves. Katrina: Hmm.
And we were able to pick it up on our surveillance camera.
- Oh, well. - So it's pretty cool.
I think we should go into the military room now
and talk about that. Okay. Okay, great.
when we took over the building,
there were 24 cremator remains left in the basement.
Hmm.
We wrote down the names and dates of death
and found there were seven veterans in our basement
and they are all displayed right here.
They were world war I, world war ii, vietnam. Jeez.
We have in the past picked up gunfire in this room.
- Interesting. - We've heard
marching around the chairs
like it's marches in a circle around you.
Another thing that has happened in this room,
we were here one night.
We had a friend come over
and we were sitting around in these chairs.
And she said to us, "the whole back of the room just lit up."
and none of us saw it. It was pitch black in here.
And we were like, "what do you mean, it lit up?"
she goes, "it just lit up."
so we went to our surveillance camera.
At the time she said that, you see a white blob.
so that was pretty cool. We do have that also.
- Okay. So, um... - Chapel room?
Want to go up to the chapel room? Let's go to the chapel.
marge: This is where I was kneeling
when I saw that little girl in the hallway.
She was right over there beyond the door.
I could make out her plaid skirt and her shoes and socks,
but I couldn't make out her features.
She had her hands behind her back.
I thought she had a knife or something behind her back
and was gonna come at me.
I thought she was gonna kill me.
Jack: Marge, I think, is gifted.
I think she has some kind of psychic ability,
mediumship, what have you,
because she seems to have had a great deal of experiences
witnessing full-body apparitions.
There was a very tall figure of a man, and his eyes
