English altyazı önizlemesi

İlk 183 satır.

Until the trial's done, I need to keep you hidden.

Raj and I should be the only ones who know the witness's location.

Do you ever think about disappearing?

You should be heading home to your wife.

Firearms incident. In progress.

- (gunshot) - (Kholi) Three shot,

two male, one female. Brandice? How is he even here?

There'll be a good reason. There has to be.

They have a daughter, a 12-year-old,

- who's under my protection. - How's that gone so far?

Who did this to him?

I am gonna find out, I promise.

A guy, like Crowther, be a miracle

if he's not managed to twist a few cops.

Is there any chance you slipped up here?

You ever heard of an Amanda Kelman?

Cop who likes busting other cops.

Might be helpful for all of us to know

what DS Brandice had been up to, over the past few days.

They still haven't found the third phone.

You need to explain 'cause I am drowning.

Don't trust anyone.

Hey, thanks for riding shotgun with me on this.

No problem.

Yeah, Protected Persons, it's, erm... it's not like the Met.

- Requires a bit more... - Tact?

Yeah, I might need your help on that front.

And I hear you're the best in the business, ma'am.

Yeah, you're right. You do need some help with that.

So, why'd you leave the bright lights of London

to join us mortals?

My wife wanted to be closer to her parents.

And it's time I put family first, you know?

Christ's sake, Jardine. It's, what, 30 metres from the house?

Why wasn't this found before?

It's registered to a hire company.

It's Protected Persons security protocol.

All our cars are registered to cover companies.

Right. And your department chose not to share that with us?

Given the amount of material you requested, ma'am,

our people are doing their best. I saw the crime scene report,

and that you hadn't found his car yet...

So, you took it upon yourself to chase that up at 11:00 p.m.?

Wheatley. Yes.

All right, thank you.

DS Brandice had emergency surgery and they're keeping him under.

It's touch and go, apparently. I'm...

- I'm sorry... - (CSI) Ma'am!

Thank you.

I wanna talk to you first thing in the morning.

Before we interview Amy McLennan.

- Will I need my fed rep? - It's totally your decision,

but as far as I'm concerned, it's just a chat.

Okay, ma'am.

Do you need a constable to accompany you to your car or...

No. I'm all right, ma'am.

- Thank you. - Okay.

- We just found these in the car. - (Kelman) Any explanation so far?

No, I'm gonna speak to them

first thing in the morning.

Don't...

trust...

anyone.

- (sighs) - (phone ringing)

- (beeps) - Hello? Hello?

- (breathes heavily) - (train chugging)

All right, mate. Come on in.

Boss, what's happening?

Our full cooperation with DCI Wheatley's inquiry.

- (Nyles) But what... - (Kapoor) Don't worry,

at this stage, it's only material related

to the Crowther trial. That's one witness

and we're relocating him anyway.

I've been looking at the door cam from the safe house.

It looks like Brandice knew McLennan.

- Jimmy welcomed him in. - So, what does that say to you?

Is it possible he was on an official task there?

If he was, it happened behind my back

in breach of every rule we operate under.

Yeah.

- You're up. - Hey, are you okay?

- (door creaks) - (Kelman) DI Nyles,

care to step through?

These were found hidden in DS Brandice's car.

Have you ever seen them?

- Never. - Care to give us your impression?

They appear to be surveillance pictures

of the McLennan safe house.

And of you.

They're timestamped,

which suggests that DS Brandice was following you

for a period of at least three weeks.

Doesn't your unit have protocols to prevent that sort of thing?

We do. I adhered to them.

And yet he still managed to follow you

without you realising.

He's one of us. He knows our surveillance techniques,

so if he did take these photos...

If he took them?

Well, that's not been proven yet.

I'm told he spoke to you last night at the hospital.

He did. He was obviously in a lot of pain and...

was finding it hard to catch his breath, so...

How close are you to DS Brandice?

Well, we worked together.

What do you think of him?

He's a first-class police officer.

Do you spend much time together outside of work?

Went to the pub a couple of times, with other colleagues.

We've analysed the data from Brandice's two mobile phones

and data from your device.

It seems he was at an address owned by your father at least twice.

So, can you explain to us

what he might have been doing there?

Positioning data's accurate to, a few metres?

Yeah, more or less.

My father's recovering from a stroke,

so I've spent a lot of time there, preparing it for him

to move back in.

So... based on these,

I assume Brandice followed me there.

Your unit's trying to ascertain how the location

of the McLennan safe house was leaked.

But given this information, wouldn't you agree

that the leak almost certainly originated

from one of your own officers, from DS Brandice? In fact...

- Not necessarily... - ...that he followed you

for an extended period in order to locate your safe house?

Well, maybe, but that doesn't make him the leak.

Right, you have an alternative theory then?

This attack was clearly ordered by Eddie Crowther.

So... (breathes deeply) ...until you can establish a link

between Brandice and Crowther, it's all speculation,

unless you've had a breakthrough. I don't know about.

Did DS Brandice ever talk to you about

why he transferred to your unit from Met MIT?

Family reasons,

I believe his wife wanted to be near her parents.

Yet he turned down a transfer to MIT up here,

and specifically requested a role in Protected Persons instead.

Does that strike you as strange?

It's a move I've made myself.

The hours are more regular. It's easier for kids.

So, you describe him as a dedicated family man?

Well, like I said, I... I didn't know him that well.

Maybe you should talk to people who did.

As you are aware,

my brief extends to investigating corruption

on behalf of serving police officers.

And that includes all aspects of DS Brandice's activities,

as well as everyone else in this unit.

I look forward to your findings.

Detective Inspector, to what do I owe the pleasure?

You're aware of the events at Hedwick Road?

Tragedy.

Before you two fell out,

you and Jimmy McLennan were pretty close.

Mm, very.

You got any idea who might've wanted him dead then?

Aside from yourself, of course.

Detective Inspector, you have no evidence linking Mr Crowther

to this appalling business. And yet you are clearly implying...

It's all right, Jerry.

I'm happy to answer his questions.

Your trial started yesterday, Eddie.

McLennan was meant to be a key witness against you.

But now, conveniently, he's turned up dead.

But I don't have to spell it out, do I?

I would never have hurt Jimmy McLennan.

Man was like a brother to me.

Yet he alleged you masterminded

a massive heroin importation pipeline.

See, that doesn't sound very brotherly to me.

All I did was give him a job as my accountant.

Why he took against me? I don't know.

But you know we've been over this a dozen times...

already.

So, unless you've something new?

See, I know you gave the order, Eddie.

I've got a source who can confirm it.

Oh, you're a bad liar, Bewley.

I'll get you eventually, Eddie, we both know that.

Poor little Amy McLennan.
