Unchained

The rain fell heavily,

as the warrior apprentice entered the dark cave.

Before her was the mighty dragon

that had terrorized the villagers.

She raised her sword

and prepared to fight the ferocious beast.

The creature

that had laid deafening roar.

The princess unwavering, held her ground.

The beast made his way towards her menacingly.

The princess struck first hoping to gain the advantage.

The dragon was strong indeed,

but could not match the speed

of the princess's precision strikes.

With a quick succession of blows

the beast fell defeated, "Why?"

The dragon really spoke in the princess's language

"Because you had been scarring the villagers," she replied.

The dragon looked remorseful,

"I don't want to hurt anyone.

"I just wanted to play."

The princess realized

that the dragon had been misunderstood by the villagers

and that she was a monster for hurting him.

So from that day forward,

the princess and the dragon played together

every single day.

Now sleep,

tomorrow will be a better day.
