Get ready for the craziest
hidden camera show in Nickelodeon history.
This is "The Substitute."
Every episode, your favorite celebrities go undercover
as the weirdest substitutes you've ever seen.
Completely disguised by Hollywood's top
special effects makeup artists,
these superstars join our team
of expert pranksters as they take over,
hiding cameras and microphones everywhere,
all to give a group of unsuspecting kids
the surprise of a lifetime.
- Whoa. - Ew.
- Today's substitute is the incredible,
multi-talented John Cena.
Here we go.
- John's conquered the world of television,
movies, and wrestling.
But today, he's ready to take on a bunch of summer campers
as a substitute counselor,
while saddled with 50 extra pounds
and a whole mess of hair.
Things are gonna get absolutely wild.
And maybe even a little spooky.
- You guys hear that, right? -
- For these kids, an ordinary day
is about to become one that they'll never forget.
All thanks to "The Substitute."
- So it's 4:45 in the morning,
and today I'm going to be a substitute counselor
at the Boys & Girls Club of Foothills.
WWE is a strong supporter of the Boys & Girls Club
and what it does for communities.
I was a camp counselor.
I've also been a substitute.
I was a-- a less than stellar camp counselor
and my career as a substitute was rather short,
so... second chance.
I'm actually more nervous for this than walking out
in front of 100,000 people at WrestleMania.
Here we go.
- Hey. - How you guys doing?
- Good, how are you? - Great, how are you?
- To start off, John will experience
a complete transformation
thanks to our team of Oscar-winning
special effects makeup designers.
These masters of disguise work with the world's
biggest stars on some of Hollywood's
most popular blockbusters.
We've got a variety pack
of foreheads, cheeks, and noses.
- All right, cool. Let's do it.
Most of the time when people think of me, John Cena,
it's usually straitlaced, straight forward,
very uptight, probably planned down to a second.
This first character I'm gonna play is none of those things.
Let's do it. - All right.
Now that he's in disguise,
John gets the 4-1-1 on his first group of campers
from the camp director, Peter.
- Thanks for being out here. You look great.
Love the way you look. - Thank you very much.
It's a bit of a transformation for me,
and I wanna thank you and the Boys & Girls Club
for having us today.
I know we're gonna get a little crazy, so...
would you like to tell me about some of these kids?
- Yeah, you got Mr. Jaylen. He's definitely a jokester.
- Cool. - Ooh, Monica.
She's another good one.
Very smart, very sassy.
Michael right here loves to share his opinion.
- And the person leading the group is Haley, right?
That's Haley, correct.
Well the only thing I can do is wish you luck.
- Okay, thank you, thank you.
- Hi. - Hey.
So this first character I'm playing is a substitute
counselor and he's, uh, he's really into recycling
and not wasting anything, and he's a bit of a drifter.
That's cool, I got it. - Thanks, yeah.
Zao shang haou, little dudes.
My name is Guy Hawkins and, uh,
everybody calls me "Hawk," but, like, I call myself, uh...
I need like a big-- like a--
Right on.
- Raise your hands if you know about climate change.
You guys need to go to the bathroom?
- No. - Okay, cool.
How many people know what this is, right here?
- You gotta go to the bathroom? - No, I'm good.
- I have a-- a super far-out flyer here.
You gotta practice recycling,
so my system is that you find
free food and it feels fantastic.
Like, oh, yeah.
Oh, here. This looks pretty good.
- -
- Let's see what everybody else is throwing away.
This is ridiculous, man.
So this thing...
You see this? -
- Super wasteful. You can reuse that.
- Holy... - Ew.
Killer sub.
No.
- People are throwing this stuff out, man,
Why do you eat trash?
- One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Oh, God.
He's a hawk, he's used to it.
- That's just one. Check this out.
- No, no, no. - No.
Okay.
- Like, look at all this stuff here.
We have a bounty here. Check it out.
- This is important. This is important.
- This is a hat, chicken. - Ew, there's chicken.
Oh, yo-- candy corn.
This is still good, right?
Sit down for a second.
So here's the thing, like,
we have this beautiful thing called Earth, right?
We're kind of destroying it 'cause we're not reusing stuff.
Like, look at all this stuff here.
This is all plastic. - No, that's for their picnic.
- No don't-- don't, don't, don't.
These are paper, that's good,
This is plastic.
What are these?
Super SOS. - Haley's gonna be pissed.
Coming up...
Stew's good.
And later...
- He got that on his eye. Don't open your eyes!
When "The Substitute" returns.
John Cena is disguised
as a substitute camp counselor who's a little overboard
when it comes to recycling.
And things are about to go from bad...
to very bad.
Haley's gonna be pissed.
Super SOS-- uh...
Save our stew. Come on.
Guys, we gotta get--
Come on, get, like, in there.
It smells disgusting.
- Oh, no-- no! -
- Oh, no, no! - Maybe just--
- Yeah, cool man-- cool, cool, cool, man.
- Shelagh-- Shelagh, get out there.
- Yeah, so that's pretty good. Let me--
- Hi. - Uh-oh.
- I'm the caterer. I made the stew.
How are you guys doing?
- Good. - We're good.
You guys, what happened?
- There were these angry squirrels
and they came down and they hit the--
they knocked the stew over.
- Yeah, there-- there was two squirrels up there.
- They came and jumped in the stew.
- And what's the description of the squirrels?
Give me a description. Brown, black?
Okay, so they were fighting,
they were running around, jumping all over.
And then one of them kind of, like, slipped...
- Uh-huh. - And the whole thing
just knocked over. - It was actually hilarious.
- Were you putting it back in there?
- No... - No, that's how...
- Is there like a piece of bark in there?
What's happening?
- Stew's as good as new. - Are you kidding?
- Stew's good. -
Oh, man.
Mmm.
It's cool.
- I'm gonna get something to clean this up.
- Appreciated that. You guys had my back.
That was totally cool.
- Yeah. - Yeah!
- Now I've developed some sort of, um, old-timey,
uh, New England type firefighter character
who is supposed to be brave,
but afraid of everything.
