English altyazı önizlemesi

İlk 200 satır.

jay is over-driving his car.

oh, we passed carolla.

All right, now we're getting in the groove here.

agh!

Tonight on jay leno's garage

"blake has the ability, but does not apply himself."

that's right, that's right.

someone once said,

"ambition is a dream with a v8 engine."

definitely supercharged, definitely.

to make dreams happen,

You need to put the pedal to the metal.

oh, jay, what did you do that for?

whether it's cruising around in the king's car...

You are sitting where the king sat.

-Wow. -...Risking it all on a race.

jay's driving like an insane man.

or getting a little beginner's luck.

you know what, I'm over 20.

Makes me feel like a young man.

y'all gotta dream!

It's modern and it's loud.

-Just like me. -To me, that's sexy.

about to make some of those dreams come true!

Now you're talkin'.

speaking of dreams,

I'm here in the heart of broken dreams

Hollywood, california.

Every day, people come to this city with stars in their eyes,

Thinking they'll make it big.

Of course, most don't.

But here's one guy who did.

My god, am I glad to see you.

my buddy, blake shelton.

Blake shelton has become a household name

Thanks to his multiple wins as coach on the voice.

He's also won quite a few awards on his own.

Blake is not just a huge country music star,

And people magazine's sexiest man of the year,

He's also a huge elvis presley fan.

-Hey, stranger, how you been? -Doing good, buddy.

-Good to see you again. -Good to see you.

when I asked you to do this,

I know you weren't a real car guy,

But I know you're a real truck guy.

I love trucks, that's all I own is trucks.

-Is this your kind of truck? -Yes, yes.

-Kind of old school. -Old school.

My very first truck I ever had in my life was a gmc.

-Well, there you go. -Gmc stepside.

you wanna drive it, see if it brings back some memories?

I guess so, I mean,

My first truck wasn't this old.

yeah, but you're no kid anymore either, so this way...

-Old guy, old truck. -I already hate this show.

remember to put the clutch in.

Remember your old three-on-the-tree.

I mean, I can drive a normal standard.

right, okay, this is the shifter, put your hand there.

Pull it, pull the clutch, pull it full,

Pull it down to first.

-Straight up. -Mm-hm.

and that way second,

And then straight down is third.

okay, and then back up is reverse.

you never go back up,

You're moving forward all the time.

-You're not a back-up guy. -You know what,

-When you're right you're right. -Let's start it up.

okay, here we go.

there we go, it's like riding a bike.

Hey, you got that three-on-the-tree,

That good oklahoma country boy.

Let's see them fingers, any dirt under them fingernails?

Let me see oh, yeah, you got a little,

-All right, okay. -Actually, I think

That's my just for men shampoo.

oh, just for men shampoo.

So when did you originally start music?

Were you playing in high school?

Were you like the guy that played at the school dances

-And stuff like that? -I started singing, I think,

Seriously when I was about 15 years old.

so your family was with you,

And there was no point where they thought,

"oh, this is crazy, get a real job."

no, my parents,

They both knew that my only real shot at anything

Was gonna be music,

Because I just was terrible in school, terrible grades.

"blake has the ability, but does not apply himself."

-That's right, that's right. -That was my thing.

but everybody I got along great with my teachers.

And my mom, she always was on my side

When it came to like algebra.

She's like, "I don't know why

They even make you do that," you know?

"you will never use that in your life," you know?

exactly, exactly.

When your parents encourage you to be illiterate,

I think that's good.

I just did the elvis '68 comeback special.

I saw that in '68 when I was in high school.

-You did? -Yeah.

but we did the 50th anniversary of it last year.

why did they ask you to do the elvis?

Did they know you were a fan

Or did they just think you were the guy to do it?

-What was the reason? -They were just looking for

A current artist that can read.

-Really? -Yeah.

-So you're a big elvis fan? -Oh my god, of course.

well, see, that's another reason

I wanted you to drive this truck.

See who it belonged to?

-What? Really? -This is elvis's

This is elvis's truck.

We had it shipped out here for you to drive.

-You're kidding me. -Well, I wanted you

-To get the feel of it. -I love that.

What do you mean what elvis didn't drive a truck.

he did drive a truck.

Well, he had a lot of vehicles.

"we have the to confirm this '67 gmc truck

Was in fact owned by elvis presley

At his circle g ranch in horn lake, mississippi.

One of the many cars elvis purchased,

This is the one he would drive around his ranch in."

-Wow! -So you are sitting

-Where the king sat. -Wow.

-So that's pretty cool. -That's pretty crazy.

-Oh, yeah, it's fun. -Now I'm gettin' nervous.

well, see, now you see why we have this truck.

Just makes it a little more special.

yeah, it really does.

That is literally unbelievable.

I never would have dreamed that elvis presley

Even owned a truck.

well, he owned all kind of vehicles.

He had sports cars, he had a pantera.

I drove the pantera he shot a bullet into.

-Remember the one? -Yeah, yeah,

-I know the story anyway. -Yeah, yeah, I drove that car.

Actually put a dent in it, I felt bad.

oh, no.

-You're okay, you can go -should I just keep going?

yeah, you can just stay right there.

See, when you're driving elvis's truck,

You can go through red lights.

-That's one of the superpowers. -That's one of the superpowers

You get.

Last season, I participated in 24 hours of lemons,

An entertaining parody race for anyone with 500 bucks

And some creativity.

But I realized not everyone wants to race

A four-poster bed or a giant hotdog.

So what do you do if you dream

Of being taken seriously on the racetrack

But aren't a millionaire?

Champcar.

This is an endurance race for folks

That have always dreamed of racing

But are on a budget.

All you need to participate in this exciting race

Is a valid driver's license, some safety gear,

And, of course, a racecar.

I'm meeting up with two experienced teams

And long-time rivals,

The flyin' hawaiians,

And the team I'm joining, uncommon friends.

This is gonna be fun.

I love being the youngest guy on the team,

This is fabulous.

You wanna take a look at the engine?

yeah, let's take a look at the motor, what do we got here?

Yeah, how many liters? It's a 3 liter?

-It's a 2.8 liter. -Okay.

really, you're looking at a blueprinted engine.

-Right. -But we have added

Fuel injection and headers.

I think you'll be pleased with the amount of power

You've got under your right foot.

I'm surprised you can run fuel injection.

I thought it would have been carbureted.

this gives us a little more power

And a little better fuel mileage.

And it is endurance racing,

So we like to squeeze every bit of fuel out of it that we can.

This was a frame off build.

We called it the 21 days from heck.

Steve nichols landed on January 25th from England,

-Right. -And this car was on the track

-On February 16th in sonoma. -Wow.

I wish you guys were doing my bathroom.

That would have been great.

That was like eight months.

these are serious racecars,

But it's not really that serious money.

so what can you build this for, 40 grand, 50 grand?

-No, nothing even close to that. -Yeah?
