I'll never forget it. Believe it or not.

We have seen things that defy explanation,

experiencing the best...

God, that was awesome, dude. That was so awesome. Absolutely, man.

...and worst...

these dolls are gonna **** take our souls.

...of the places between worlds.

I want the portals of this forest wide open.

Now it's time to look back.

One of my scariest nightmares, that we are about to relive.

scariest, and funniest moments from our investigations.

The Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum in Hollywood, California,

is not only iconic, it's haunted.

Filled with shrunken heads...

body parts...

and other items with sinister histories.

I love this mask, the way it feels.

I think it's like an alter ego when you put it on.

I just -- I like it. Can I wear it?

- Yeah. - Yeah.

- Yeah! - I say do it.

Believe It or Not!'s Robert Ripley!

The name Robert Ripley has become synonymous

with the extraordinary.

Since the 1920s, he's been known to the world

as the author, illustrator, and host of Ripley's...

Believe It or Not!

Alright, I can't wear this thing.

Whoa! Oh, that's scary.

Oh!

Ooh!

In 1933, Ripley opened his first Odditorium,

and today, several of these museums

showcase some of the obscure items he collected

during his expeditions to the far reaches of the globe.

Robert Ripley -- that's one of the guys that I wish,

if he was still alive, that I could meet.

I think I have a lot in common with Robert Ripley.

- Mm-hmm. - A lot.

Bet he's got some crazy stories.

Robert went to a lot of the locations

to get the items himself. Right.

Cory Dacy has overseen the operations

of this Odditorium since 2015.

Little-known fact --

Cory now works for me at The Haunted Museum,

as my general manager.

No way! Yes.

After I started doing a little preliminary research,

I am a little concerned that some of the artifacts

that you do have could be cursed.

Tell me a little bit about this.

The mummy's foot is from Egypt,

and it's dated back to 2000 B.C.

So we have a body part from an Egyptian mummy.

This could be very powerful in the effects

of what's going on here right now.

You really don't understand what I experienced

when I held that foot in my hand.

Like, it was a moment.

Very odd.

Should we leave the room when that comes?

- Yeah, like... - No, I'm not saying...

I'm being serious, Jay. Gosh!

I believe it. I believe it.

The worst part is, we know.

We know!

Is it true that some of your employees are really terrified?

It is. They don't like to close by themselves

because of the feelings they get walking through

some of the galleries here.

So, the first reports that we got here

were from a young lady named Trinidad.

She was a former employee.

When she would come through this area,

she said that as she went through the kids' crawl,

something touched her butt.

Underneath here is a skull in a box, too.

Is it a real skull? There is a skull in there, yeah.

Perfect place for Aaron to go in. Right.

- Of course. - Perfect.

That would make sense why people get touched down here.

I do not... I'm so claustrophobic,

it's not even funny.

Both of you guys are blocking my way, and I don't like it.

I don't know if we can get out. I'm kind of stuck here.

As we're beginning to piece together what kinds of objects

are drawing the dark energy to this location,

Cory shows us another equally nefarious artifact

made of human remains.

My Asmat skull.

Let me just read you this.

"This skull was collected by Ripley himself in the 1920s.

The Asmat are a famous cannibalistic tribe

on the island of Papua New Guinea,

and they would put human skulls

under their heads in place of pillows.

If you're owning tribal artifacts,

you are messing with things

that are beyond what you can even imagine.

These various tribal groups,

their beliefs in the afterlife were something that...

was very, very different.

And you go messing with that stuff...

True meaning of a curse. Yeah.

All those cultures are much more in tune

with the spiritual world than most people are today.

The energy that they infused into these objects

that they truly believed held various supernatural powers --

those powers don't leave those objects.

- Look at that! - Whoa.

- What the hell?! - That was a 9.7.

Right by that sword. Right by the sword.

Something is here -- something that is unknown

and something that is moving.

What's in this case right here?

Yeah, there's a sacrificial sword in here.

Some of these items have actually been bloodied.

Yeah, this was a used sacrificial sword.

soldiers used to execute rebels and insurgents

right before Ripley's eyes.

And then he's like, "I'll take the sword." Yeah.

"How much for the sword?"

As this profound evidence corroborates my theory

about the type of artifacts driving the hauntings here,

we meet an employee

whose experience furthers this connection.

We're in the lower section right now,

and there is a darker vibe down here.

Why are you scared down here?

Having worked here, I have seen people.

This is before we open and after we close, that I have --

You're talking about ghosts? Yes.

Do they look tribal?

Yes.

This was the pivot of this investigation.

Apparitions of these...

various indigenous people. That'd be so scary.

To them, these are sacred items.

And some of them are dangerous items meant to curse.

You know? And not just a few of them.

There's tons of these objects in there. Right.

Yeah, dozens. And all in one room.

How long was it until you started noticing these things

after you started working here?

Well, it was about, like, two weeks,

and I felt like somebody was just watching me,

following me everywhere through the museum.

But then, after a while, it started progressing more,

and then I've noticed that it does follow me home.
