So far, the battles have been utterly unforgiving.

We've seen beautiful machines literally ripped apart.

While their builders have displayed an outpouring, a passion, emotion, and heart.

Tonight, the remaining builders in the round of 16 have a chance to advance to the quarter-finals

and take one step closer to claiming the sport's greatest prize, the Giant Nothing.

Here to discuss the brackets and to my battles, a fight squad, a true sports lover and a legendary fighter.

Alright, so guys, before we get to the battles, let's take a look at the bracket.

Okay, we've reached that sweet spot in the tournament where the stakes are really starting to build.

All of our competitors are now battle-tested and no one can be taken lightly.

We've already seen 14 stake their claim to a spot in the quarter-finals.

That would be Farm Shell, Poison Arrow, Mid-A-Coff, and Bronco.

There are only four spots remaining and by the end of the night, just 18s will be left standing, Kenny.

Yeah, I love this point in the competition, Chris. Tonight, we're gonna see action from some of our biggest legends,

as well as the continuing journeys of some impressive newcomers.

A win here tonight gets them within Arms Reach of the Title, and you better believe they are pacing the pits right now,

just waiting for their bell to sound.

Alright, the stage is set. Are you all ready to kick things off?

Let's head up to the spot one for our first match-up.

It's number one seed, Tombstone, versus number 16, Brutus.

Let's take a look at what the bots and tikes first battle have been doing in their run-up to tonight.

Tombstone is making it a spectacular philosophy smoothie right now.

In the round of 32, Tombstone moaned through escape philosophy.

The only question remaining for Rey and his team,

would they prepare for Lockjaw or Brutus?

I'm glad closer than I was thinking.

They're both tough bots in their own unique way.

Between the two, I would probably prefer to get Brutus.

I'd rather trade connect to Gennery G even, deal with whatever Tombstone's got at this week.

Oh, wow!

Okay, that wasn't what I was expecting.

Short, short S7 bar.

With their desired match-up in place, Tombstone must now decide which blade to unleash against Brutus' vertical spinner.

I know we're going to have a hard time getting all together, but I think that the short S7, the thick one's probably the right choice.

We have a plan of attack-specific for bots like Brutus.

We're going to set it up with the heaviest weapon that I've run ever in this weight category.

It's an inch and a half thick, it's about seven and a half inches wide, so the upper cutting hit shouldn't be able to break it.

And I don't need the long reach because it's not like he can reach out and touch me with the tight weapon on the drum.

I don't know how the young guy figured that. That's like he's heavy.

The team that built Brutus is an experienced team, but we should in theory match-up very well against them.

I guess we'll have to see how it ends in the box.

Now we get to fight Tombstone.

After playing the role of a aggressor in its wins thus far, Team Brutus is now faced with the prospect of fighting the most aggressive bot in the field.

I'm going to bring to Tombstone when I brought some obvious. That's my spinner strategy. All up in their face, don't give them a chance to spit up.

It's going to be brutal. It's going to be a knockout. Which way will find out?

I don't know if Rey can handle a drivetrain like mine. Other drivers give him time. Not going to.

The fight I'm expecting is not going to be very long. So confident that I've taken out half my battery back to add more defense up front where it counts.

We're actually looking pretty good. I need to display the perfect box rush.

It's not too hard to knock out Tombstone. He's weak on three sides. I'm built for him driving for the knockout.

I think it's just two and pulling him together. I think a knockout is almost guaranteed.

Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready?

Brutus led by that man. An amateur burp you last season. He was a part of the MIT club and overhaul a bill battle for the 16C tonight.

I'm going to say I love Adam strategy. He wants to knock to Tombstone with as much forces he can generate and let the chips fall where they may and check this out.

By sacrificing half of his battery packs for extra fun, bomber. Brutus only has enough juice to run for two minutes. Sounds like adequate to one way to.

He's got a lot of thought into this.

Yeah, he's clearly not taking Brutus's spinner lightly. Remember, it was a similar weapon on which doctor that nearly ended his one last season.

He's gone with his heaviest blade for this match and he's positioned it very low to the ground. Trying to avoid Brutus's murderful shots. He's definitely got this one hurt.

In the red square, bring the bride and the doom. It's your getting day. It's Tombstone.

Yeah, in order to run that heavy blade, it's still make great way and go with these ultra light blue tires. If I'm Brutus, I'm going straight for those.

In the blue square, this pladiator is roaming all over the box for Carnage to the Maximus. Are you not entertained or my signal? Unleash Brutus.

Team Brutus, climbing there here to knock down Tombstone. You can see that extra front arm where they've added. Will it be enough? I'm going to find out.
