EPISODE 11

What the hell?

My gosh. Seriously?

Who on earth are you?

I went to the salon early in the morning.

-Do I look weird? -Of course not!

You look perfect!

Your hair and outfit today

make you seem like a true businesswoman.

I'm glad.

I see you put in the effort for today's presentation.

That too…

But I wanted to show myself

that I can change.

I'm proud of you, Bahn Ha-ni.

I'll get going then.

Go, go, Bahn Ha-ni

You're the best in the world

I'm falling for you, The charming, Bahn Ha-ni

I can do it!

2020 JOA CONFECTIONERY IDEA CONTEST PRESENTATION

I hardly recognized you.

It looks good on you.

-Do I look okay? -Yes.

That reminds me. Did you get it?

Yes, my cousin-in-law hadn't thrown it out yet.

Why do you need it though?

To start afresh.

What?

Ms. Bahn Ha-ni, please get ready for your presentation.

-I'll get going. -Sure.

Old lady!

Just be yourself in there.

Thank you for teaming up with me on this.

I wouldn't have made it this far without you.

Of course.

We're the best.

Now, break a leg.

I'll head inside.

All right. Thank you.

JUDGE

The next presenter is ready.

We'll begin.

2020 JOA CONFECTIONERY IDEA CONTEST PRESENTATION

Hello. I'm here presenting for team Star Land.

I work for the Product Development Team.

My name is Bahn Ha-ni.

I've been praying for rain every single day.

But I'll pray for something else today.

Please give courage

to the 37-year-old me so she can do well on her presentation.

Hold on.

That's my phone.

Before I was offered a position on the Product Development Team,

I worked at a supermarket.

Squid is good, deliciously good

I used to promote products made by Joa Confectionery.

The Squid-good incident that you're all aware of

happened on my watch.

While preparing for this presentation,

the memories of that incident came rushing back to me.

And then a friend who was lactose intolerant

also said this to me,

that there are quite a lot of people in this world

who aren't able to eat everything they want.

That's when it hit me.

What if there was a product out there

that could be consumed by children who are allergic?

Alleviating that worry is what led me

to come up with the gluten-free snack Star Land.

No way.

Why would this ring?

How can a call get through?

Ha-ni. Bahn Ha-ni?

That voice…

No way!

It's Bald Eagle!

Hey, Auntie.

Why wasn't the door locked?

-Where is your mom? -She went to work.

I've brought kimchi and some dishes.

-Put them in the fridge. -Sure.

By the way, did you make these yourself?

I bought them at the department store. Why?

Well, if you had made them yourself,

I'd have to worry about them being poisonous.

-What? -Just kidding.

Gosh, look at this mess.

Don't you bother to clean up?

As if. We usually keep the house clean,

but we've been busy lately.

That's really not necessary.

-Don't you have a vacuum? -No, we don't.

Wait. Shouldn't you be at school?

-I don't attend one. -What? How clueless can your mother be?

You've been back from the States for a while now.

I'll attend one once I go back but…

You're going back?

I thought you were staying for good.

Well…

You see…

Are you all right?

You're clumsy just like your mom. Do you have a plaster?

The lily of the valley key ring!

-Do you know what that is? -Well, Dad…

I mean…

You and my mom each got one from your dad.

It was supposed to be a good luck charm.

There's some place I need to be, so see yourself out.

-Thanks for the dishes. -Hey, where are you off to?

She's so easily distracted just like her mother.

Unbelievable.

Hold on. I can't believe she still has this.

Of course, you're right to worry about

the target market being small

which will result in low profit.

It's why we tried hard to come up with a flavor

that appeals to others as well as those who are lactose intolerant.

Whenever I was having a bad day,

my dad would take me to a neighborhood corner shop

to buy me a packet of sweet snacks.

It's what I still do at this age.

I yearn for snacks whenever I feel down.

Has the presentation begun?

She went in a while ago, so yes.

I was hoping she could go in there with this.

-What's that? -A key ring.

Wait. That's the one I gave to your mother.

What? Why did you have this?

I told you before how we met a long time ago.

She dropped it that day,

and I only got to return it recently.

So that's when I lost it!

I looked all over the house for nothing.

What?

I mean, my mom told me that she turned the whole house upside down to find it.

I see.

So, does this have some special meaning?

-It's what the flower symbolizes. -Which is what?

As if I'd tell you.

As if I want to know.

Like so, snacks remind me of the heartwarming times

and bring me joy.

It's why I want children who are lactose intolerant

to enjoy snacks instead of fearing them.

What could possibly be better than the act

of bringing joy to others?

When will he get his next gig?

Anthony, are you all right?

I don't know.

I've been feeling off lately.

Tell me your symptoms.

My heart's pounding manically.

And I have trouble breathing.

Could this be a panic attack?

-A panic attack? -A lot of celebrities suffer from it.

What else?

Nothing comes to mind when I close my eyes

-except this. -What's that?

Ha-ni's smile.

Anthony.

I don't think it's a panic attack.

-What is it then? -It's obvious.

You're lovesick.

Lovesick? Me? The great Anthony?

Anthony!

-I finally got the call. -From Ha-ni?

What the hell? No, Ms. Kim's new drama series.

Your audition has been scheduled.

Really?

What's wrong? What's with that long face?

Wait, are you sick?

I'm just worried since I must do my best.

It is said that people used to grill pork belly

whenever something needed to be celebrated.

Isn't jjajangmyeon what you eat to celebrate?

-That's right. Jjajangmyeon . -No, it's meat, of course.

What on earth are we celebrating though?

Us winning the contest.

But we haven't won yet.

We all worked hard and you presented it.

Of course, we won.

-Really? -Well, probably.

That being said, here.

-Cheers! -Cheers!

The more I see you two, the more you seem alike.

-What? -I'm right, aren't I?

You like the same food and you behave the same.

On top of that, she's the spitting image of you as a kid.

And how would you even know my face as a kid?

Seriously?

You're the Superman

who saved me from the bullies that stole my mom's necklace.

When on earth did I save you?

My gosh! How stupid of me.

I got it all on my blouse.

Gosh. You should've been more careful.

I know. What do I do with this?

This needs to be scrubbed with water.

Come with me.
