Terms of Service
The rules for using SUBDL subtitle search, upload, translation, download, account, and API features.
Last updated: June 17, 2026
Acceptance
By accessing or using SUBDL, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the website, accounts, upload tools, download tools, translation tools, or APIs.
The service
SUBDL helps users find, upload, edit, translate, and download subtitle files for movies and TV shows. SUBDL does not provide movies, TV episodes, torrents, streaming links, or video files.
Search results, metadata, language labels, release names, ratings, comments, and subtitle files may come from users, public subtitle communities, automated processing, or SUBDL moderation work.
Accounts and security
- You are responsible for the activity that happens through your account, API key, session, or upload access.
- Keep your login details and API keys private. Tell us promptly if you believe your account was accessed without permission.
- We may limit, suspend, or close accounts that violate these terms, create security risk, or abuse other users.
User content and uploads
You keep any rights you have in subtitle files, translations, comments, ratings, profile information, and other content you submit. By submitting content to SUBDL, you give SUBDL a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, copy, index, display, translate, edit for formatting, distribute, and make that content available through the service.
You must not upload, submit, or link to content that:
- You do not own or do not have permission or a lawful basis to share.
- Infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Contains malware, tracking code, credential theft, hidden redirects, spam, or deceptive links.
- Includes video files, movie files, TV episode files, torrents, or links intended to access unauthorized copies.
- Harasses, threatens, impersonates, or exposes private personal information about another person.
Copyright complaints
Copyright owners can request removal of allegedly infringing material through our DMCA and Copyright Policy. We may remove or disable reported material, block duplicates, restrict upload access, and terminate repeat infringers.
Use of downloads and subtitles
You are responsible for how you use any subtitle file downloaded from SUBDL. A subtitle may be protected by copyright or other laws even when it is easy to download. Do not use SUBDL to infringe anyone's rights or to access unauthorized video copies.
APIs, automation, and scraping
- Follow published API documentation, rate limits, authentication rules, and caching rules.
- Do not bypass technical limits, overload the service, scrape in a way that harms availability, or resell access without permission.
- We may throttle, suspend, rotate, or revoke API access when usage risks service stability, security, or compliance.
Paid features
SUBDL may offer paid plans, API access, translation quotas, or other paid features. Prices, limits, renewals, and refund handling may be shown during checkout or in the relevant product page. We may change paid features prospectively, but changes will not intentionally remove access you already paid for during the active paid period unless required for abuse, security, legal, or payment-risk reasons.
Moderation and availability
We may remove content, change metadata, hide pages, limit downloads, block uploads, or modify features to protect users, comply with law, respond to abuse reports, improve quality, or keep the service available. We do not guarantee that any subtitle, page, account, API, or feature will always be available.
Disclaimers and liability
SUBDL is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that subtitle files are accurate, complete, synchronized, lawful for your use, secure, or free from errors. To the maximum extent allowed by law, SUBDL is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost content, or service interruption.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated date on this page shows when the current version took effect. Continued use of SUBDL after changes means you accept the updated terms.
