ആദ്യത്തെ 200 വരികൾ.

Do you have any idea where you're going, Trivette?

It's not that much farther. It's just a few more miles.

You said that a half hour ago.

Trust me. We're almost there.

Almost where, Trivette?

We're out in the middle of nowhere.

This can't be the right way.

That's what it says on the map.

We're lost, Trivette.

Look, don't you blame me.

These are the directions they gave.

Just trying to figure out why Judge Hollister

wants to meet us way out here in the middle of nowhere.

Well, nowhere would be somewhere

if you hadn't gotten us lost.

I guess you could've done better.

Yeah, I think so.

Look, just because you're part Cherokee

doesn't mean that you have a better sense of direction.

Being Cherokee has nothing to do with it.

I just have a better sense of direction than you do.

I don't think so.

Oh, okay.

Which way is west?

- West? - Yes.

West... is that away.

That's south. I told you we were lost.

Somebody's playing a practical joke on us.

I just know that Judge Hollister's back in Dallas,

laughing his head off.

Well, maybe not.

That could be his place there.

Yes, I did not get us lost.

Must mean I'm part Cherokee.

Right. Maybe that much.

Well, howdy, boys.

- Hello, judge. - What brings you out here?

We got a message that you wanted to see us right away.

Well, must be some kinda mix-up. I didn't call you.

No, I'm sure the message had your name on it, judge.

Maybe somebody's playing a practical joke.

Hey, you boys wanna go fishing?

Ah, thanks anyway, judge, but we're on duty.

Well, you're gonna have to excuse me.

The bass are biting on Oakridge Lake,

and I'm gonna get my limit today.

Sorry about the inconvenience, gentlemen.

Have a good trip back.

Boy, if I find out

who sent that phony message...

We've been driving two hours.

Well, it wouldn't have been two hours

if you hadn't gotten us lost.

I found the place.

Well, anyone can find anything

if they drive long enough, Trivette.

All right,

if it makes you feel better,

I'll ask Judge Hollister for directions.

Maybe he knows a shortcut.

Come on, Trivette. I know how to get back.

Let's go.

Trivette!

Easy, Trivette. I'll get you to a hospital.

Hey, Walker!

The judge was just the first one!

I wanted you to see it,

'cause I'm saving you

for the last!

Who's that?

Max Kale.

Dr. Winstrom.

Dr. Ernest Winstrom to ICU--

How did Max Kale escape prison?

They thought he was a low-risk inmate,

so they put him in a minimum-security facility.

Then he kills a guard and five inmates.

What genius would let a psychopath like Max Kale

out of maximum security?

A psychiatrist.

Ranger Walker,

your partner took some shrapnel-type wounds.

He's okay, but he'll be real sore for a while.

Man, will you take it easy?

- Hi. - Aw, Jimmy, how you feeling?

Oh, man, I got the "Holy Anvil Chorus"

ringing in my head.

Thirty-seven stitches on my butt and back.

I feel great.

You're lucky.

A little closer to that bomb blast,

and you'd be singing with the angels.

I'd like to sing to Max Kale.

I'll tell you this--

This thing hurts!

The local anesthesia's wearing off.

You'd better lie still.

Take Ranger Trivette to his room.

Okay. Take it easy.

Ranger Walker,

there's an urgent phone call for you.

Walker.

This is Dr. Jane Pine.

I don't know if you remember me.

I testified at Max Kale's trial.

Yeah, I remember you, doctor.

Kale called my radio show.

He's on the line right now.

I... recognized his voice and contacted your office.

They've started a trace.

Well, keep him on the line as long as you can.

I've gone to a commercial, but I can't stall forever.

Uh, commercial's over.

I'll do my best.

Do you have a radio?

Uh, yes, right over here.

Alex.

This is Dr. Jane Pine on KRDW,

and we have a caller on the line.

A caller? Aw, come on, doc.

You know who I am.

Max Kale.

Max, I'm glad you called.

You sound like you have a lot on your mind.

My mind?

Funny you should mention that.

You're the one that said that I was crazy.

It was nothing personal, Max.

I just gave the court my professional opinion.

Because of you, they stuck me in an asylum

for the criminally insane.

Give me another chance.

Maybe there's some way that I could help you.

Yeah. Oh, answer me this.

If I'm so crazy,

how come I had the smarts to break out, huh?

I always considered you highly intelligent, Max.

That's why I want to talk to you.

You already have talked to me, doc.

Every day on the radio,

and I learned.

Oh, you taught me all the right buzzwords:

self-responsibility,

getting in touch with my inner feelings.

Those fools, they lapped it up.

And they thought they cured me.

They were just trying to help you, Max.

Just reaching out to you.

They're fools.

And a fool's mouth is his destruction.

Proverbs 18:7.

You've been reading the Bible.

Memorized it.

Then you know what it says about love and forgiveness.

And I know what it says

about retribution against the unjust.

Judge not that ye be not judged.

Matthew 7:1.

Now,

I sit in judgment of you.

Please, Max, we have to talk.

Oh,

we will talk.

We will.

We'll be taking a short station break.

He is so frightening.

He said I was going to be last,

which means there's others on his hit list,

which could include you.

So I'm putting you under 24-hour protection.

Walker, I mean, I've got--

Don't even argue, Alex.

Judge Hollister sentenced him, and now he's dead,

and you're the one that prosecuted him.

Well, what about Dr. Pine and Kale's ex-wife?

They're the ones that testified against him.

I'm putting them under protection too.

I'm gonna go talk to Dr. Pine.

I read Kale's psychological review.

It makes him out to be a model inmate.

Who made the evaluation?

The staff at the psychiatric facility

where Kale was locked up.

They made a big mistake.

Yeah, well, that mistake got a judge killed.

They didn't know that Kale was one of the best.

Best at what?

Lying.

Every psychological test Kale was given

showed that he was making dramatic progresses.

It's hard to believe that he faked all that.

It's even harder to believe

that he found the makings for a bomb in an asylum.

Yeah, he was a master at that.

I feel sorry for Kale's doctors.

They were taken in by him.

Could've happened to me.

Yeah, but it didn't.

Why not?

Sometimes it just comes down to a gut feeling.
