Welcome to Thriller Restaurant.

I'm the Ghastly Garçon, and I'm the manager of this establishment.

For some reason, I'm the manager and a garçon at the same time.

We specialize in dishes that will send shivers down your spine.

Here is our menu for the evening.

Tonight's appetizer, "Thriller Restaurant", was prepared by a horde of gluttonous ghosts.

The main dish, "The Kikimora's Puppet", was prepared by a Grim Reaper via shashlik.

And tonight's dessert that will make you tremble uncontrollably,

"She's Gone Forever", was prepared as a Diablo sorbet.

We've used our own specialty spices in each dish to ensure

that those who dislike scary stories will also be able to enjoy the meal as well.

Enjoy your meal.

Another boring way to start the day.

Only five hours and twenty-five minutes left until we can leave.

So it's the same old routine today too.

I wish something interesting would happen.

Hello, my name is Sho Komoto.

Pleased to meet you all.

He looks pretty cool.

Sho has been living in London due to his father's job,

but he's very fluent in Japanese.

Let's make him feel welcome.

Okay.

Girls, don't go crazy over the new kid just 'cause he looks cool.

Teacher, I think it's a good time to change the seating arrangement.

You're so annoying...

Be quiet.

Now, now class, quiet down.

As for your seat...

Teacher.

Yes, Reiko?

The seat next to Anko is open.

You're right.

Sho, you'll sit next to Anko.

Everyone calls me Anko, but my real name's Ako.

Ako Ozora.

Nice to meet you.

What the?! He's ignoring me!

Anko.

Could you do me a favor

and take Sho around town?

Me?

Why me?

Do I need a reason?

Hey new kid, listen up.

Why don't you stop acting like you're better than us?

Yuma can get pretty scary when he's angry.

Past that forest is Yamazakura Shrine.

I don't mean to bother you, but I thought I'd give you a quick tour of the town.

Beyond the shrine is Mt. Hag,

and Grim Reaper General Hospital is on the hill over there.

There's a junkyard over here, and just behind that is the Ghastly Apartments.

And over there is Thriller Restaurant.

Thriller Restaurant?

Yeah. I don't know how it got that name, but that's what we call it.

This town's got a ton of weird places to see,

so people started calling this the "Cursed Town".

Could you take me there?

Where?

Thriller Restaurant.

Let's go before the sun sets.

B-But we shouldn't!

There are ghosts there!

Anyone who goes inside will be cursed!

Hey, wait!

Hello?!

It's creepy, isn't it?

Even though it seems deserted, rumor has it that it opens at night.

And apparently the manager's a ghost.

Let's go in.

E-Excuse us.

You brought a camcorder?

Let's go in this room.

W-Wait up!

T-They could open up again if they cleaned the place up.

But it looks pretty normal for a restaurant.

Let's hope so.

What do you mean by that?

I-It kinda looks like someone was using it before we came in.

Have you ever heard of the "Ghost Ship"?

No, what's it about?

Sailors discovered a certain ghost ship sailing out at sea.

And when they checked the galley, they found a pot of stew that had just been made.

Did you make that up?

Nope, it's a true story.

Let's get out of here already.

I want to see if the camcorder caught anything.

Right now?!

B-But, I only wanted to give you a quick tour, so...

Yes, and?

"And"...?

W-Well...

I need to...

You need to go to the restroom?

It's over there.

You want me to come with you?

I can go by myself!

You brought a camcorder?

This is...!

What now?

I got something on film!

B-But I didn't see anything when we came in this room!

I-It really is a ghost!

Be quiet.

W-Why?

Is there something in here?

Why the heck is the phone ringing?!

Answer it.

Why do I have to?!

Because I'm filming.

It's okay.

Just answer it.

Hello?

Welcome to Thriller Restaurant.

I-I can't move my leg!

Hey...

There's nothing there, right?

May I take your order?

What did you throw?

A rusted nail.

Rust is effective against witches.

But I'm not sure if it has any effect against Japanese ghosts.

So that really was a-!

Don't be silly.

It was all a figment of your imagination.

This place has been closed for a long time, but the landline phone still works.

Don't scare me like that!

You didn't have to speak like a ghost!

But I didn't say anything.

The only thing I did was call from my phone.

But I heard you say "welcome"...

Where's the camcorder?

May I take your order?

Let's keep this between the three of us.

It'll be our little secret.

Our secret?

Sounds fun.

I'm glad I came here.

There really are a ton of interesting places in this town.

I've never heard anyone say that before.

Where shall we go tomorrow?

Thriller Restaurant reopened shortly after we left.

The same old Thriller Restaurant.

But I'll save that story for another day.

Kikimora?

What the heck is that?

It's a Russian house ghost.

Hey guys, keep your ears open for the kreep show!

Get it?

Sho, please continue.

The ghost itself isn't well known in Japan.

But basically, it's a nocturnal ghost that acts as the Grim Reaper and takes souls.

It also complains about poor housekeeping while knitting at night.

Think of it as a malevolent house ghost.

If that's everything, then we'll use Sho's for the play.

Is everybody okay with that?

Then we'll use the Kikimora in the upcoming cultural festival's puppet show.

Now, we need to determine who's doing what.

Anko, you're going to write the script for the play.

I know you're aspiring to become a writer.

W-Why do you know that...?
