via SNS and other online channels.

we've invited some of the Korean artists...

that were rediscovered online...

and are now well-known to...

just about anyone.

So let me introduce you to our first artist.

These people appeared in the music scene about eight years ago.

Thanks to their unique songs and performances,

they were well-known online...

and they already had a number of loyal fans.

They're now the icon of the Korean indie scene.

Critics say that...

they are the gems of Korean music discovered in the 21st century.

Now they are one of...

the hottest bands in Korea.

Please tell me that this is your real hair.

I knew you'd comment on my hair, but I didn't expect that.

Your hairline is alarmingly straight.

The hair designer was quite talented.

So what were you trying to achieve with this look?

It's just a haircut. You don't have to sound so appalled.

Why did you cut it like this?

Well you see,

there's a musician I love by the name of Lou Reed.

It's this guy right here.

That's right.

Back when he was young, he cut his hair like this.

- Oh, I remember! - It was this exact style.

I wanted to pay homage to my favourite artist so...

You look like Spock from "Star Trek".

Everyone keeps telling me that.

No one knows Lou Reed, but they know who Spock is.

If only your ears were pointier.

Anyway, I've been getting that a lot.

What do your fans say at your concerts?

When I first cut my hair like this,

I performed at a pretty big festival after I got this haircut.

I'm not exaggerating at all. One person...

in the audience said, "What's with that hair?"

- That loudly? - It was so loud.

So I had to tell that person that it wasn't a nice thing...

to say as soon as I walked into the stage.

Some people like it, but others really dislike it.

I recently watched that film called, "Nameless Gangster".

In that film, there's someone who looks just like you.

You two must go to the same hairstylist.

It was last year.

We had a special show titled as "The Band" where YB,

Kiha and The Faces and Hyukoh performed.

That was the last time I saw you guys.

But that special show happened to take place...

immediately after the surprising news about him broke out.

- Yes, that's right. - We were so happy for him.

We went out for food and drinks before the filming even began.

Were you okay then?

To be honest, I was happy that this show...

was the first show I did after the news broke out.

- Why is that? - Some people obviously...

had no interest in me whatsoever.

I'm sure some people were wondering...

who I was at that time.

Right. Those who didn't know him probably saw his name and thought,

- "Who is this guy?" - "What does he do?"

They were probably like, "She can do so much better."

It was a perfect programme for me at the time.

I felt like I was able to introduce myself properly.

So you came back with your fourth album.

Please tell us a little bit about your album.

The title of the title track is very unique.

I thought the title was very refreshing. Is it "Kieuk"?

Yes, it's "Kieuk".

- You all know "kieuk", right? - Yes, "kieuk".

The letter "kieuk" is the only thing on the cover.

How do you pronounce it? Is it "kieuk"?

Everyone must pronounce it differently.

The letter itself is obviously called "kieuk",

but we also use it as a symbol for laughter these days.

Right, we use it like that in text messages.

So I thought people would read it as that sort of laughter,

- but every age group is different. - How so?

Younger generations read it like this.

This is how they pronounce the title.

- How do you all pronounce it? - I'm curious, too.

Then what does the title mean?

First and foremost, I thought that the letter itself was fun.

I thought that it's a word that makes the most sense...

out of all the nonsense expressions that we use these days.

- Why is that? - So...

I know that making a song out of the letter "kieuk"...

sounds like a big joke,

but I thought that it could actually carry a lot of meanings.

As you know, so many people use it these days.

So I thought of making a song with that letter alone.

Then I gathered all the words that has that letter.

I combined those words to come up with the lyrics.

Really? Then give us an example of the lyrics.

It looks like you're deeply asleep

I want to knock on your door

But it's too late in the night

So I'm texting you instead

It goes like this.

I like it.

I really like it.

This happens often, too.

I get that one letter as a reply after sending a long text message.

Has it ever happened to you?

Yes. That's actually sort of what this song is about.

- The lyrics are about that? - Yes.

We use the letter "kieuk" to signify laughter in texts.

But when there's only one letter, I don't think it means laughter.

- Right. What do you think it means? - I think...
