To counter huge foreign capitals which envisioned advances into Japan,

The Ministry of Finance was working out concepts of merging the 12 city banks existing at that time,

to create bigger banks (and thus stronger ).

It was the beginning of a financial restructuring that led to the three current megabank systems of the present.

This is the story of the Son, who was staking his life to manufacture steel which he could boast to the world,

and of the Father, who due to the financial restructuring, fought for survival.

Thus, this is an intense tale of love, hate, and sorrow of the Manpyo Family, which befell those Father and Son.
