The first 119 lines.
There are humanoid species,
such as humans, elves, and dwarves,
who are blessed by the gods of light.
And then there are demons, who, while few in number,
have been blessed by darkness and, individually,
are far stronger than humanoids.
These two forces have clashed for millennia,
dividing the vast continent of Leunders
into the East and the West.
However, 300 years ago, when a moderate demon king
took the throne, the situation stabilized,
and humanoids grew accustomed to a temporary peace.
In the fifth month of the year 2826, that peace was broken,
and a new demon king launched an all-out attack
against the humanoids.
That act of aggression would come to be
known as the Great Invasion.
The demons fought fiercely with no regard
for their own casualties.
And several humanoid nations fell in the blink of an eye.
By the fourth month of the following year, 2827,
the Gargan Empire, which boasted
the largest humanoid fighting force, had been destroyed.
With few options remaining, the humanoids
took desperate measures.
They gathered the remaining troops
and engaged the main demon army in a reckless battle,
while at the same time, a suicide squad
entered the demon king's castle, the functional enemy
base, to assassinate the demon king
in a final act of desperation.
Are you all right?
Theron!
Go on without me.
I'll handle these guys.
All right then!
Damn it.
What a pain in the ass.
Let's go.
What's that?
Above you!
Ah!
Urza!
What was that attack?
That was elimination,
an unblockable, high-level spell that destroys
everything in its path.
I need to do something drastic.
I'm going to have to release the gemstone's magic power.
If my wielder is to risk his life, I suppose
I must join him.
I'm sorry.
Laws of wisdom, take form and become
a blinding flash of light to destroy
the ignorance of darkness!
At last, it's over.
Hey.
I guess you can't respond anymore, huh?
Silence.
It seems I'm the only survivor.
Everything I wanted to protect, it's all gone.
My home, my family, my friends, my beloved--
I've lost them all.
And here, at the end, I can finally--
Huh?
A magical item.
If that thing's power goes out of control--
Oh!
Huh?
This room, it looks like mine.
No, it can't be.
I must be dreaming.
Come on, Kyle.
You can't sleep all day.
Gotta get up and get going. Mhm.
Oh, good.
You are awake.
Oh, Liese.
Huh?
What's wrong?
Are you sick?
Is it your stomach?
Yeah, definitely a dream.
Kyle.
Hey, wait a minute.
I don't care, as long as I'm with you again.
Why are you acting like this?
Uh...
Ah!
Ah!
You can't be serious!
I don't know where all that came from,
but I need time to emotionally prepare!
You jerk!
That hurt.
In a dream?
Pain shouldn't even be a thing here.
Then it's not a dream.
Hmm.
I think I look younger.
And what happened to the injuries I was just dying from?
If this isn't a dream, what's going on?
The town is back to normal.
Liese is alive and well.
It's almost like I was sent back through time.
Am I crazy, or did this thing pull off the impossible?
No, there's no way.
Time traveling spells don't actually exist--
Dream or not, I still get hungry here.
Liese must have made this for me.
She always came over to cook up a storm
since Mom and I couldn't even boil water.
Oh, that's good.
I haven't eaten a proper meal in so long.
I ate too much, but worth it.
What's breakfast?
I'm starving.
Hmm?
It's gone?
