The first 200 lines.

Bye, babe.

I'll pick up the groceries on my way home.

Oh, uh, and add sardines to the list.

And blueberries.

You're sure?

Oh, you think I'm weird, don't you?

I think you're beautiful.

And weird.

Hon, I'm sorry. Of course, you're not weird.

- You're perfect. - No. Jared, look.

What the hell?

Hey, Katie.

Are you drunk?

Maybe. A little.

I didn't get out of Air Raid till 2:00 a.m.,

and there was this off-the-hook after-party,

- and everybody... - Did you set up the meet?

Not exactly.

The truth is, I'm not sure this whole

confidential informant thing is working for me.

It's not a choice, Kenny.

- Well, I mean, it kind of is, right? - No!

You were busted with enough contraband

to send you away for years, so either

help me get evidence on the prison guards you sell to,

or I take you back to jail.

But those jerks still owe me five grand on the last deal.

- The money doesn't matter. - It does to me.

They think I'm some chump they can short? No, no, no, no.

They need to make it right, or there is no deal.

It's a sting operation.

That is the whole point of the deal.

You don't keep the money either way.

- What's in it for me? - Staying out of prison.

Okay, just set up the meet, Kenny,

or I'm done trying to help you.

You call this "help"?

- Morning, boss. - Morning.

Assuming there's more than just some stolen tires?

Actually, there's not.

Whole bunch of stolen tires, though.

Okay and that requires the SAC because?

Well, less about what was stolen,

more about who it was stolen from.

Lot of brass live here.

Highly motivated to get some answers.

- Which means we are, too. - Yep.

Okay. How many cars were hit?

12. Sometime between 1:00 and 6:00 in the morning.

Whoever nabbed the tires somehow got on base

and close to their homes without being spotted.

- So, no witnesses? - None so far.

Hey. Residents who have security cams all report

their systems going down for several hours last night.

- At the same time? - Yeah.

So, somebody hacked into everyone's security systems to steal tires?

Seems more like a prank than theft.

Hey, Boom-Boom's back!

Doesn't seem too happy about it.

36 hours ago, I was taking apart an IED in Bahrain.

Now my talents are evidently needed to identify a...

- tire thief. - Well, your talents are always appreciated.

Just to be clear, we didn't call.

Oh, my boss did. Lives in the neighborhood.

Asked me to do what I could to figure this out.

I'm not sure you're gonna have much luck.

Thieves... they-they were smart.

They used gloves, disabled the cameras,

so there's not much evidence.

So you're doubting my abilities?

No. No, no. That's not what I meant.

- Good, 'cause that'd be a mistake. - Mm.

It's nice to have you back, Boom-Boom.

It's always good to see you, Special Agent Tennant.

Boone.

I-I would... I'd never doubt your abilities.

- Uh-huh. - Never!

- Keep me updated. - Yeah.

I just... I thought Boom-Boom and I were good.

Maybe talk less.

We've been planning this for months,

and suddenly he gets cold feet?

Over five grand he'll never actually get.

He's a criminal. They're not known for being dependable

or smart.

ASAC Curtis wanted to give Kenny Sparks to a more senior agent,

and I convinced him to trust me to handle it.

I can't screw it up.

He really calls himself "Kenny Sparks"?

Yeah. Tells you everything you need to know.

This is the first CI you've handled.

- Give it time. - I don't have time.

Curtis wants the meet set this week.

Take down the prison guards.

It's a big case.

'Cause Kenny sells them burner phones and drugs for the inmates?

And the guards have info on every gang inside the prison.

I mean, it could help make a lot of other cases.

Look, I can't help you with Kenny,

but I can tell you this.

You are smart, resourceful,

and you look fantastic in that suit.

- You got this. - Morning, Kate.

- FBI have something for us on tire-gate? - Uh, no.

Just dropped in for a little moral support.

But I'll leave you to it.

Everything okay?

Kate's running her first CI, and he's giving her problems.

Ah. They almost always do.

Any luck with the security footage?

Still going through it. Nothing yet.

All right, go back a few hours.

They could've been on base and waiting.

Well, it looks like Ernie's got something.

All right, go check it out.

I got to update the base commander in a couple hours.

Hoping to have something to share.

- Hey. - What do tires, spoons,

mannequins and golf trophies have in common?

Uh... they're all nouns?

- Really? - Yeah, I'm pretty sure.

Yeah. I'm at a loss, too.

I'm hoping that wasn't just a random question.

I don't think tires were this thief's first caper.

- Caper? - Has more flair than "illicit activity."

I found similar crimes going back the last few months.

Three country clubs were hit.

But only the golf trophies were stolen.

- They worth anything? - Only to the people who won them.

And this one:

a bunch of luxury clothing stores

at the mall were burglarized,

and the thieves only took the mannequins.

- Very caper-esque. - See? And finally,

a neighborhood on the windward side of the island

had seven houses robbed in one night.

Well, that's more serious.

Not when you hear what they stole.

Spoons.

- Spoons? - Bizarre, right?

Well, clearly, suspect's not doing this for the money.

- All the other thefts happened off base? - Yeah.

And I can't find any connections between them.

Oh, it's Jesse.

Maybe he found something at the crime scene.

- Well? - Uh, actually, they...

lost something.

How can it be gone?!

- It was right there. - It's okay.

It's okay. We're locking down the base.

- We'll find your van. - Okay?

How is this okay when all the evidence I collected was in there?

Right. Definitely not okay.

We got it. Ernie tracked the van using GPS.

It's one block over.

Oh, easy. It doesn't feel right.

What? Like it's a trap?

Easy enough to set explosives,

wait for us to get close.

Get back!

What the hell?

What is that?

Elephant toothpaste.

Is it dangerous?

Only to my evidence...

and my pride.

It's kind of awesome.

Devon Gage and Ross Lamont

have a combined 15 years of working at FDC Honolulu.

Operating a criminal enterprise the whole time.

Agent Whistler.

Uh, Gage and Lamont run a contraband pipeline to convicts.

A couple months ago, I identified their supplier... Kenny Sparks.

Took some convincing, but he agreed to wear a wire,

set a meet to take them down.

We make a case against these guards, and we can turn them.

Gain access to the inner workings

of criminal networks across the state.

We'll have a time and place soon, so let's prep.

I want to share an ops plan with the OIG by end-of-day.

Thank you.

Kate?

How's it going with Sparks?

Uh... He's a handful.

I've been there.

You've done a great job so far.

Identifying him, bringing him in, getting him to cooperate.

- Thank you. - But I'm wondering

why Sparks hasn't set the meet yet.

Kenny's being difficult.

- Cold feet? - Not exactly.

There's a financial dispute between him and our targets.

- Nothing I can't handle. - No doubt.

Still, it wouldn't hurt for me to, uh,

meet him myself, just to kick the tires.

He's pretty nervous already.

I don't need to tell you how much we've got riding on this.

I'd like for you to set that up.

Of course. I'll call him now.

Yes, I got a couple of acceptances,
