-This has been my most challenging season.

But it's still anyone's game.

Wicked Tuna Outer Banks.

Defending champion Fishin' Frenzy has clawed their way back into the lead

after recent struggles.

But Pinwheel, Reels of Fortune and Foolish Pleasures are less than seven grand behind.

BRITTON (over radio): You know why we're all doing this.

We're all out here trying to support our families, trying to support what we do.

Start it off with a prayer here this morning.

Lord, we'd like to thank you for the opportunity that you've given us so

far this season.

Thank you for this community of fishermen.

The season's coming to a close.

We're in the number one spot.

All we got to do is hold on.

My arch nemesis.

One good trip down here and an underdog can be a top dog.

Still, really anyone's game.

He thinks he's the tuna king of the South.

That's not true, not this year at least.

BRITTON (over radio): Because everybody's out here pushing,

everybody's tired.

-If you waited for perfect conditions,

you'd fish about three days a winter.

Going up.

Bluefin season in the Outer Banks is only about three months long.

For us Southern guys, this is where we make the majority of our money so we've

got to bank it for the rest of the year.

That's a lot of pressure.

We had a few stumbling blocks earlier this season.

But our last trip out, we caught two fish.

That put us back in the lead.

At this point, everyone's gunning for us and time is running out.

The Frenzy has been on top every year.

We're champs, that's just who we are.

But right now, there's a few boats are only one nice fish away from getting ahead of us.

We've got to land this fish.

I wanna beat everybody.

And this fish will put us one step closer to being the top boat on the Outer Banks

four years in a row.

We don't just want it.

Taking one look at that one,

I can tell he wasn't long enough and we have to release him.

We're running out of time and every minute we spend on a short,

is a minute we didn't spend looking for a big one and ultimately that

costs us money.

It's tough, you know we're out here everyday fishing.

We got a bite, everything's right.

It's just was the wrong size.

With this season coming to an end, this one really hurts.

-It was close, super close but not, not what we want.

Close, but no cigar, guys.

Oh, boy, we really need another fish.

-This is my first season as a captain and we cannot finish at the bottom.

I want a bite.

The Little Shell's a family boat.

Cliff has three young'uns, I have one, Brandan has one.

We got a lot riding on this season.

There are five children depending on this boat catching fish.

It's a lot more pressure.

There ain't no marks so I, I don't know what you, give me a fish.

-But at the same time, stress has a negative impact on the crew.

So I want these boys to have a good time and enjoy themselves.

You can have fun and work hard and catch fish and make money.

I don't even know how many hours we've been on this boat, but it's been a lot.

The end of the season's approaching and I want to catch as many fish as we can

before it closes.

I can feel the pressure because you know you've only got a few more chances.

Duffy, Little Shell just hooked up.

You got to slow him down, he's a strong one.

We got a bad, bad, tangle.

We just got a tangle on the stick.

And there ain't nothing we can do about it, there ain't nothing we did.

You got six hooks on the thing, you know, he grabs it, pulls it down in a V,

the hooks will spin around themselves and we just got to be careful because in the

tangle, there's a hook.

God doggit!

It's, it's rare we lose a fish to a bent hook.

It's just tackle failure and there's nothing we can do about that.

This late in the season, that's a hard pill to swallow.

Ugh, I don't like bad days.

I got that, you run the boat.

I want to cut that squid right off here.

When you got a tangle, you got to be really careful how you handle it.

If you cut the wrong line, go ahead, cut it, cut it right off there.

That could be $10,000 paycheck down the drain.
