The first 200 lines.
-Look at that. -Yeah, that is a tuna.
All season...
-Pa-pow! -Whoa! -Yeah.
Boats have earned some of the biggest paydays in Outer Banks history.
Whoo!
And now...
-There's not much time left in the season.
With less than two weeks left of fishing...
Come on, let's go!
Reigning champion, Fishin' Frenzy is back on top.
-This has been my most challenging season.
But it's still anyone's game.
Whoo!
Forward down!
Whoo!
Got 'em on!
Which unexpected challenger will rise from the deep?
Watch out!
Nice fish!
-Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. -Yes!
This is...
-Yeah! -I love this.
Wicked Tuna Outer Banks.
Defending champion Fishin' Frenzy has clawed their way back into the lead
after recent struggles.
But Pinwheel, Reels of Fortune and Foolish Pleasures are less than seven grand behind.
BRITTON (over radio): You know why we're all doing this.
We're all out here trying to support our families, trying to support what we do.
Start it off with a prayer here this morning.
Lord, we'd like to thank you for the opportunity that you've given us so
far this season.
Thank you for this community of fishermen.
The season's coming to a close.
We're in the number one spot.
All we got to do is hold on.
My arch nemesis.
One good trip down here and an underdog can be a top dog.
Still, really anyone's game.
He thinks he's the tuna king of the South.
That's not true, not this year at least.
BRITTON (over radio): Because everybody's out here pushing,
everybody's tired.
Help us to be safe, help us to make wise decisions.
-If you waited for perfect conditions,
you'd fish about three days a winter.
Going up.
Bluefin season in the Outer Banks is only about three months long.
For us Southern guys, this is where we make the majority of our money so we've
got to bank it for the rest of the year.
That's a lot of pressure.
BRITTON (over radio): Amen.
Amen, Shack.
Hey, thanks man, appreciate it.
GREG (over radio): Thank you, Shack.
Let's have a good day.
-Come on, get 'em, get 'em, get 'em, get 'em, get 'em, today's the day.
We had a few stumbling blocks earlier this season.
But our last trip out, we caught two fish.
That put us back in the lead.
I know they're here, come on.
At this point, everyone's gunning for us and time is running out.
Hey, here's a mark, 35.
Come on, come on!
-Oh. -We're on, we're on!
There he is, come on, baby!
That's what we want, got one on.
Make that money, baby, bills!
It's right in the box.
Rotation's up, our turn.
The Frenzy has been on top every year.
We're champs, that's just who we are.
But right now, there's a few boats are only one nice fish away from getting ahead of us.
We've got to land this fish.
I wanna beat everybody.
How you feeling there?
Feel good, man.
I think he's a little better than you think.
-Push that thing right up over strike.
Put some drag on that thing right up over strike.
I'm on top strike right now.
Going low.
-Oh, he might have a little bit of weight.
What do we got?
I mean, he's solid.
We got 'em on!
And this fish will put us one step closer to being the top boat on the Outer Banks
four years in a row.
We don't just want it.
We need it.
-There he is, color, all right, he's circling.
-Come on baby, come on baby. -You want a couple cranks?
-Yeah, let me crank on it for a minute.
See what we got here.
-He come up the one time I was like, "I can't keep up with it!"
I'm right behind.
Tell me what side.
-Got that gaff ready, ready to rock.
-There he is. -What are you thinking? -He's not big enough.
I think he's is.
Maybe he's a little BLT Butterball.
-Ugh, too short, get the hook out.
Oh, close, close, close!
-To be a keeper, a fish has to measure 73 inches.
Taking one look at that one,
I can tell he wasn't long enough and we have to release him.
-Watch your leader. -Clear, I got your leader.
-All right, he's off, there he goes.
We're running out of time and every minute we spend on a short,
is a minute we didn't spend looking for a big one and ultimately that
costs us money.
It's tough, you know we're out here everyday fishing.
We got a bite, everything's right.
It's just was the wrong size.
With this season coming to an end, this one really hurts.
-It was close, super close but not, not what we want.
Close, but no cigar, guys.
Oh, boy, we really need another fish.
-This is my first season as a captain and we cannot finish at the bottom.
I want a bite.
The Little Shell's a family boat.
Cliff has three young'uns, I have one, Brandan has one.
We got a lot riding on this season.
There are five children depending on this boat catching fish.
All right, Cliff, jockey this thing.
Put me, put me on 'em.
It's a lot more pressure.
There ain't no marks so I, I don't know what you, give me a fish.
Catch me a fish.
Look at that.
-But at the same time, stress has a negative impact on the crew.
So I want these boys to have a good time and enjoy themselves.
-Just go down there and crawl right on top of him.
Come on, baby, come on.
-The thing about Little Shell is we're all friends.
You can have fun and work hard and catch fish and make money.
-I really wish you... -We got to get a bite, boys.
The Frenzy's ahead of us.
We're not gonna have that.
-All right, let's go! -No way! -Let's go!
No layin' down on the job!
No layin' down on the job!
-Let's go, let's go, come on, come on, let's go!
I don't even know how many hours we've been on this boat, but it's been a lot.
Sweating and sweating.
The end of the season's approaching and I want to catch as many fish as we can
before it closes.
I can feel the pressure because you know you've only got a few more chances.
Damn, there's some marks here, captain.
Is that tunas right there?
I think it's tunas.
There's a mark.
Jig that thing.
Come on, girl.
Catch me one.
Come on, baby.
There he is, got 'em on!
Pow goes the breaker!
Is he on there, where's that breakaway?
-Yeah, yeah, yeah, come on, come on back.
-You got him? -Yes, yes.
Look at that!
-There he is! -There you go, got him on!
Watch out, got him on!
-(bleep), Nick got a bite. -Nick got a bite?
Duffy, Little Shell just hooked up.
Little Shell's tight.
-Come on, baby, bring me fortune.
-Wow, I can feel this fish paddling like a big long fish, you know?
Oh, that looks like a good one.
Ooh, ooh, give me the polyball, give me the polyball!
You got to slow him down, he's a strong one.
-You always got to put that on there.
All right, talk to me.
I can't, I can't see.
Stop the boat.
We got a bad, bad, tangle.
We just got a tangle on the stick.
And there ain't nothing we can do about it, there ain't nothing we did.
You got six hooks on the thing, you know, he grabs it, pulls it down in a V,
the hooks will spin around themselves and we just got to be careful because in the
tangle, there's a hook.
Right now, thank you.
God doggit!
It's, it's rare we lose a fish to a bent hook.
It's just tackle failure and there's nothing we can do about that.
This late in the season, that's a hard pill to swallow.
Ugh, I don't like bad days.
-Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
I got that, you run the boat.
I want to cut that squid right off here.
When you got a tangle, you got to be really careful how you handle it.
If you cut the wrong line, go ahead, cut it, cut it right off there.
That could be $10,000 paycheck down the drain.
I can't crank him up with a tangle.
There's the fish right there.
Yeah, I know.
Getting close enough, Brandan, you might need to take a shot here.
Brandan, get your dart.
I'm gonna hand line it in.
Not yet, not yet!
