Ghosts of Morgan City

I've been working for the Morgan City Police Department 34 years.

In recent weeks, my department has been overrun with reports

of strange and unusual activity that we just can't explain.

The people down here are looking for answers,

so we're gonna try something that we've never tried before.

You heard a growl? There was a growl.

We've got a team of some of the best

paranormal investigators in the country.

Is there a negative entity here?

Oh, my God! What the hell?!

And if this paranormal team can't figure out

what's going on down here, we're in a lot of trouble.

The hauntings in St. Mary Parish are actually escalating,

and we're trying to find connections

as to what might be causing them.

But these emergency calls have us

ping-ponging around the parish, and it makes it really difficult

to try and find any specific patterns.

And now the Franklin PD is receiving reports

of paranormal activity, too.

- Hey, Ben, man. - Glad you meet you.

You, too. Come on in, man.

I'm glad you can get here so quick.

Look, we've been getting all kind of calls.

And we actually have a detective that

we have assigned to the case.

This paranormal stuff is something

that's way, way strange for us.

We normally have the felony type of crimes and misdemeanors.

This is way beyond what we can handle.

So, I'll introduce you to Detective Sylve.

So, uh, how can I help? What's going on?

The Allain House, which is a house here in town...

Okay. The owner, Ms. Kay,

said that she witnessed a full-body apparition

a handful of times.

But there's also been some other calls on Irish Bend

that I think you guys would be interested in.

Okay. So, this is called the Allain Plantation?

Yes, sir. It has a little Cajun spin on it

with the "Allai" Plantation.

Being that Franklin is a very historic town,

we get a bunch of weird calls at these old plantation homes.

When I first responded to Ms. Kay's house,

she was really worked up and really concerned.

Is she available to talk to directly?

She's actually not in town.

Her husband's very ill,

and she didn't want him to experience

any of the ghostly activities going on.

Oh, okay. But she did leave me

with video testimony of her experience.

Well, why don't we take a look at it and see what she said?

Um, I'm recording this so that there is documentation

of the odd events that are going on in my home.

I did not believe in ghosts at all until these events,

but I do now.

Recently, I started to see a ghost.

He was wearing a Civil War uniform.

He looked like a teenage boy.

Best way I can describe him is a soldier with a limp,

like maybe he'd been wounded.

I'm afraid if my husband, who isn't well,

gets wind of what's going on in our home,

won't be able to handle it.

So, I've got to get him out of the house.

Please try and find out what's going on

in our house while we're gone.

So, this is kind of new to us,

having a witness give their testimony by video.

It takes away a lot of the observation and interaction.

We have a lot of good information to start this case,

but we have some missing parts,

which means we're gonna have to connect

a lot of those dots ourselves.

This particular plantation, about how far away is it?

No more than five minutes from here.

Detective Sylve has offered to drive me

over to the plantation home.

I'm gonna meet the rest of my team there.

We're gonna do a baseline sweep to see what we're dealing with.

How big is Franklin?

Franklin isn't really big at all.

It has a population of about 7,500 people. Okay.

Very small-knit community. Everyone knows everybody.

So, has anything like this happened in Franklin before

or did these calls just recently start coming in?

They come, like, in waves.

A lot of the calls have been coming

from the battlefield of Irish Bend.

What do most people say when they call up?

Most of the calls has been, like,

there's someone in the house.

They think it's an actual person

or someone outside of their house.

And then when we get there, there's no one.

So, it's something, not someone.

Yeah, we've already seen the video,

I'm actually gonna show you guys where she had her experience.

It's on the National Registry, it looks like.

This place is more like a museum than a house.

Louisiana has a lot of old homes with a lot of history,

so it really doesn't surprise me

that this is the second time we've been called out

to investigate a haunted plantation.

The Allain House looks a lot like the Idlewild Plantation

where we captured an apparition of a nurse

from the yellow-fever epidemic.

Y'all want to follow me, and I'll show y'all

where it happened. Okay.

We're gonna see if we can pick up on any anomalies

that might help us verify

if the ghost of this soldier is haunting this home.

So, right here is Ms. Kay's bedroom.

When I came here, she showed me

that once she stepped out of here,

actually in that area of that cabinet

right there behind you guys,

she saw the figure standing there.

And then he went and disappeared into the wall.

And what's on the other side of that?

Wow.

You got all sorts of coins and scabbards and swords.

Did she point out anything else to you?

That's all I know as of now,

so I'm gonna go head out and finish some work,

and just call me when you're ready for me to lock up.

So, let's retrace Kay's experience.

So, I'm Kay, and I'm in the master bedroom and...

Stepping out, I turn and look,

and I see a man who is in a Civil War uniform.

And he makes eye contact with me.

And as I make eye contact,

he suddenly turns and walks with a limp

and vanishes straight into the wall.

I'm scared.

How far is this from where she's standing?

It's probably only about...

Let's see... 10, 20 feet?

I could never live in this house.

The energy here, it feels so heavy.

As I'm walking through these rooms,

it's like walking through mud.

Okay, well, the EMF's increasing.

It gets colder.

It's been staying at a steady 3.

It's hovering between 3 and 4 now.

I mean, this room is full of so much energy that it's crazy.

Like, I feel, like, weighted down and my head keeps hurting,

and I get dizzy and I want to throw up.

Like, literally somebody, like, took my knee out.

It's a heaviness, and it keeps getting real heavy on the chest.

And every time I feel it come a little closer...
